Older clientele and the location tucked away right off the road. Has a classic Georgia feel with a very robust menu. Heck of a happy hour menu. Not too packed for. Friday night.
Service was questionable as the waitress took out order on a piece of printer paper. Bathrooms were very clean. A few local draft on tap as well. Would recommend a visit if your in the area .
First and foremost I ve enjoyed this restaurant, but to night they failed me. We called in two grilled salmon salads to go. It took an hour and 15 minutes. I went to the bar where a group of about four adults where so loud and obnoxious that people obviously had complained as the owner tried her best to calm them. They should ve been asked to leave. I ended up ordering a drink as the headache I had from these people was terrible. Honestly I should ve been compt something, when I said something to this worthless bartender she got all defensive that it wasn t her mistake, she was slightly right, but she handled it poorly. I hope this place can learn from this as it s a classy place & these rowdy customers could have been handled better. I won t be back for a while. Good luck HT as you have a great place & location, but you missed the mark with me & the customer I sat next too. Very poor service from kitchen and especially the female bartender. Shameful.
My daughter's took me here for Mother's Day. We were all disappointed that The Good was not hot even though we arrived when they first opened. This meal was definitely not worth the price we paid.
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The employees are always so welcoming and the food never disappoints. My new addiction is the crab legs, absolutely delicious!!!
This spot is extraordinary and spacious, the food was yummy and the rates were very inexpensive. rapidly, effective service and very affable staff. I recommend this place.

Good food. Had a Groupon so it made it that much better. Loved the environment and my burger was first rate.
The server did his best with what he had to work with which was scallops that could've doubled as hockey pucks (albeit small ones), missing sides, poor management and embarrassing white tomatoes. We tipped well because we felt like our server did his best considering.

Food was very bland. Green beans had no flavor. Shrimp and grits were OK not great. The gravy on my wife's chicken tasted like flour. And OMG how can you screw up Fried Green Tomatoes that badly. I'll never go back. Sorry but, we should have gotten a clue when it was 4 pm on a Saturday and no one was there but us.
Ordered Togo, spent $50 on two entrees and dessert, Cold food, missing items, tiny portions and poor quality food. Will not order again.

Absolutely horrible place to eat both mine and my mom's chicken Alfredo was super watery and no flavor wouldn't recommend anyone to eat there the service was horrible the waiter barley came around if anyone liked their chicken Alfredo I recommend you try sopranos chicken Alfredo it is absolutely delicious sopranos has way better food than Houndstooth grill
I ordered a meal via DoorDash trying the restaurant for the first time. The food arrived rather quickly, however the fish was undercooked and had a foul smell/taste. In addition to this, I ordered the crab and lobster dip, which to my surprise had raw bell peppers sliced over top, which was not appetizing AT ALL. The food made me completely sick with multiple trips to the restroom the remainder of the day. For a first time experience, this was completely awful and I undoubtedly will probably never try this restaurant again.
Attended a party at this restaurant (private room) and was thoroughly impressed by the waiter. He went out of his way (and worked his butt off) to make sure everyone was taken care of, including my mom and I who require GF food due to Celiac disease. Food was tasty enough, everyone around the room seemed happy with their meals and ambiance of the restaurant overall was nice. Bathrooms could have used some attention and the staffing was a little off, as our poor server was the only one assigned to the room and it was a decent sized party. He did an amazing job, but could have used a bit of assistance. Also, I really hope they'll actually go through the process of identifying a gluten free menu in the future, as they seem to have some reasonable options, but without having it readily available it makes the servers work extra hard (or could be a strong deterrent to a customer if the server isn't as awesome as Ryan when trying to make sure the meal is safe for the one who needs GF).
I wasn't impressed. To be fair, I did have it delivered so the food being cold was probably due to that. It wasn't packaged well. The steamed vegetables and baked potato were undercooked and the Delmonico ribeye was grisly.
Ordered the Ahi salad and they used all iceberg lettuce, no romaine lettuce or spinach. Very expensive for what you get. We waited well over 30 minutes for our food. I won't be going back. Too bad because there aren't a lot of restaurants in the area.
Sat at the bar and ordered off the trio menu; grouper, artichokes and beef sliders. Food good but was slow to get out and service is understaffed. This is not the first time this has happened. Bar was full as well as the surrounding tables and booths. The bartender was all by herself and did the best she could. She lost tips and some customers left. The manger came out for a few minutes, left and never came back. Management needs to get it together and if it requires to pitch in and help, do it or you will continue to lose customers. Very disappointed tonight.

Dined Friday September 13 in the evening. Excellent food. Salmon some of best I have had. The carrot cake was like what we baked at home. It was one of the best also - not too sweet. The atmosphere great. The waiter, Andrew, was friendly yet professional. Really dressed well and was efficient with our order. Andrew made our evening with such good service. Thank you Andrew and those that prepared the food. I will be back soon.
Grabbed lunch here. Tasted the Reuben and the Chicago Steak sandwich. Both are quite good. Fries are about what you can expect from casual American dining. Interior decor and atmosphere is fancier than your average sports bar but still casual enough to dress down. I would imagine that a more lengthy dinner in the evening would be even better.
terrible... my first restaurant review and i ordered to go food since my favorite wing place was relocated and i had to get home quickly... i walked in and placed an order.... first of all they messed up my order... and i got ripped off... then with the wait being about close to an hour after going through the trouble of trying to place my order and correct them, i felt a lot of disrespect from the workers there... once i FINALLY got my ordered, they forgot one of my orders but i was already home. i was considering going back but i didnt wanna wait another hour for a soup... there was another customer next to me getting fristrated by the wait and i totally understand and after seeing the other reviews.. i see they have this problem with others too... never coming back here again
The service was excellent, but my food was not even average.
Houndstooth catered my mothers celebration of life today. The food and service was wonderful. Highly recommend them for all your catering needs. Ryan was the manager that helped us. He was great!

Necie the bartender is omg the best in the world she is lovable and a people person. There is no drink she can't make so go down and have her make your favorite or her favorite for you.

I was hoping to share the wonderful experiences others had shared in their reviews. I visited Houndstooth last Monday August 8th. Unfortunately I was not as lucky. The ambiance was there. The server was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately all was ruined by my meal. I ordered the chopped steak with red skinned mashed potato and green beans. I was served two frozen hamburger patties smothered with a cold lumpy tasteless gravy. The red skinned mashed potato was not fully cooked so I had large chunks of uncooked potato. The only pleasant experience were my green beans. Maybe they have other items on the menu that is more pleasant to the palate. This was not it.
We go for lunch from the hospital down the road. They food is great. And they have this salad dressing that is amazing. It warm bacon. Yep tastes just like it sounds.

I went here for the first time. Horrible experience. Waitress never came to check on us, the food was okay. Terrible customer service, I rather spend my money somewhere else. Also, with the pandemic going on the seating for social distancing sucks.

Table of four at night, we order 2 appetizers and three meals. At the beginning we told the server we have a groupon for $40 of food. We are told we can't use it unless we buy 4 entrees. We say ok, we agree maybe we should check the fine print. Our food is delivered. We had to ask for eating utensils because ours wasn't provided when we sat down.The food is good. During dinner, we read every word on the groupon. It has conditions on there about when you can use it. It doesn't say you have to make certain types of food purchases. We ask for the manager so we can clarify. The manager argues that the groupon won't be applied because the word dinner is used on the groupon, and due to the definition of the word dinner we are to know that means the cost of appetizers aren't included. If it said entrees must be ordered on the coupon then magically we would have known. It didn't. We used the coupon because we were in the right. The manager could have easily turned the bad situation into making it right, but didn't. We aren't going back. Hope this helps make your decision.
First time here for a food and wine 5 course dinner. Courses 3 & 4 were phenomenal. Pairings were well done.

Houndstooth was great during out recent visit. Food and service was top notch. Most importantly, our server Kami was outstanding. She was very responsive to all the guest in our group and patient with the kids (we all know how many questions kids can have sometimes). She even drew a picture of a cake on a napkin for one of my boys, when he asked her for it since he did not know how that cake looks like. Everyone enjoyed their time and loved the food, and since we had 20 people with us and everyone in the group had a blast, that s something. Great service, thanks.
Likely the most ridiculous happy hour around. Make that is happy HOURS...seriously 3:30 to 7:30 every day. Food's great, staff is super friendly staff, especially the bar staff. Denise is everybody's buddy :)
I had the grilled salmon salad with the lemony dressing and it was delicious. The waiter was very curteous, knowledgeable and comical. We had a very enjoyable lunch. My friend had the rube and was going to leave half for later but it was so good she just couldn't! First time there and will defiantly be back again!!
The Shrimp & Grits are the absolute best around. Everything we've tried has been outstanding, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Loved the old version of Fried Green Tomatoes. Not sure why they changed the great combination.
Food was fantastic. Unfortunately the restaurant is really understaffed and the service is really slow. Not the fault of the servers. I would give five stars if the service was normal.

Service is absolutely terrible. My family went together once a few months ago. Only one of us actually enjoyed the food. There were fewer than five tables and took more than an hour to even have our order taken. And went downhill from there, with servers refusing to speak with us if they were not our server when asking where the restroom is. Was with the family member who enjoyed their food yesterday, so we decided to give it a second go. Give the benefit of the doubt. We walked in for a late lunch and were the only people in the entire restaurant. No one greeted us. We looked around for a hostess or server, but nothing. We started browsing a menu while hoping to be seated. No one ever came and we left. Looking back, we appreciate the service being so atrocious upfront so we didn t have to go through another of a train wreck dining scenario. Do not make the mistake of going once. Or give the benefit of the doubt and attempt a second visit.
We used Houndstooth to cater a birthday party for us and I am so glad we did! They did an amazing job with the set up and making everything look so pretty and organized. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests were raving about it!
They took the time to go over the menu to make sure we were happy with our selections and even offered suggestions to help ensure the party would be a hit; and it was!
I would definitely recommend Houndstooth to anyone who needs catering for their next event!

Love this restaurant!! The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. They have a bar which has an awesome happy hour, a backroom for private parties and a beautiful dining room with handpainted walls from a local artist. There is also a covered patio, which they allowed us to bring our dog to dine with us as well. :) The food is fresh and they make all their dressings in house and they are so delicious!! If you're ever in the area definitely give it a go, you won't be disappointed!!
If I could give this a negative star that I would. After waiting to be seated when the place was almost empty, a flag someone down. Then the lady walked past us and didn't say anything to us after at least 5 to 10 minutes. When we left that same lady was at the front looking down at the desk and never even acknowledged us walking out. By the way we passed at least several other employees standing around doing nothing on the way out the door. We are from out of town and are the business owner an we know how things work and when people just need a little bit of latitude, but this was just pure awful customer service. Don't go here.

Their scampi/chicken salad is super good, a lot of food and the price is pretty inexpensive. Service is pretty fast and good.
