Hotel Villa Diodoro Review

My husband and me stayed here for 4 night we are very happy we will come again.

Epic panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea from the roof and pool decks. Wonderful large balcony. Great included breakfast but monotonous with the same menu everyday. Location is ideal. Next door to the fascinating Taormina public garden and amazing Ancient Theater. Garden is a must see. Just a 10min walk to the city center with a multitude of great restaurants and shops. Seems like a short walk to the beach but not sure.

Now the not so nice. Beds are not the most comfortable. I had two twins pushed together that would slide, exposing a crack between them. Toilet would run nonstop, unless flushed twice. Nicks and chips on the walls and floorboards. Elevator marked with numbers that didn t correspond to your room # (I was in 300s but on the 1st floor?). Negative floors on elevator which I never understood as it s not underground. Staff was half and half. My colleague asked the front desk to call a local hair salon and was met with huffing and puffing. After 5 minutes of him not finding the number she gave up.

I know things aren t the same as the US as here but expected more from a 3 star hotel. Epic views though. Would stay here again as I have a feeling other hotels nearby are likely similar.

Weird bedroom furniture. In the way? Absolutely. Of use? Not at all. Powdered fruit juice at breakfast is astonishing. Lovely swimming pool. Glorious views, really stunning. Has a somewhat corporate feel. Loads of restaurants nearby from which to choose

Unfortunately, the room did not get what was booked. I find it very noisy there (3 trains went through at night) Air conditioning is very noisy. On Sunday morning at half past eight we are woken up by the vacuum cleaner Disaster. The most beautiful tables at the windows were not served. The shower then also disassembled in the morning that was the rest. But the staff is very friendly and you have a wonderful view of the Etna

Location, location, location - this place was next door to the most gorgeous gardens with epic views of Mt. Etna. The room itself was quite understated, but the breakfast was amazing, the views spectacular, and the pool was the best pool I've seen in years. The staff was friendly and helpful and parking on-site.

Wonderful location with great sea views and Mount Etna. 10 minute walk to the heart of Taormina. Friendly, helpful staff. Food very good, but a bit boring (lots of alternatives in Taormina).

Excellent 4-star hotel in the most panoramic Taormina

Excellent hotel in Taormina, with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Naxos and Etna in the background. I attended a conference at this hotel, and I admired the location, the availability of all the staff, the only flaw is the small parking lot.

Excellent hotel in Taormina, Sicily, location, price, quality of services and attention place it in this category, with the gift of its landscaping and beautiful views, gardens and summer facilities.

I was invited to a graduation dinner, so I can only express myself regarding the service of the dining room staff and the restaurant, not the hotel. The staff was extremely rude and unprepared (they have no idea how to serve a fish).

Great and above all well-maintained hotel complex in Taormina. The location is very good, you can reach everything within the center within a few minutes walk. The view of the bay of Taormina / Giardini Naxos with the Etna in the background is fantastic. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly. There is a star deduction for the restaurant. The breakfast is ok for international standards, but there is really every day exactly the same. Since you could bring at least a bit of variation pure. The food in the restaurant is otherwise ok, but nothing special and in the village there is a much more extensive selection. Parking is available, but very tight.

I attended a conference held at the hotel. The organization of the conference is very good and the location is very central, a few minutes walk from the center of Taormina.

Nice room with good ocean view. A little walk from main shopping Streets. But it very tranquil.

Real treat with a fantastic view of Etna and the sea! Got upgraded to a suite at no additional expense! Location is great, just a few mins walk to the center of the town. Breakfast is terrific, parking is free! Room was old charm with gorgeous furniture, classy atmosphere and huge balcony!!!

For the first time of Sicily trip, we stayed. Good weather during their stay, is Mount Etna visible from the breakfast at the restaurant was great. Soon citizens park next door. Walking Belvedere (Izobebera) looks pretty in 5 minutes.

: inside there s some run down going on (carpets..); rooms all functioning but would need a renovation; no wifi at the pool (new router needed?)
overall the pros outweigh the cons so they get a pass.

Visited here for a weekend getaway rooms are okay and views from our room were excellent . However the staff and facilities are definitely not 4 star.

The first morning we were awoken at 3am by someone with a television on. Then again at 6 am by people stood outside our room talking. We decided to get out of bed and found there are no tea and coffee facilities in the room. So we went to find one to be told we would have to find a coffee shop.

No laundry facilities or ironing facilities so our creased clothes out of the suitcase we had to take to a laundry and pay for this

Second morning we were awoken again so I went to the restaurant that was serving breakfast and told I cant take tea or coffee back to my room incase I spill it. I am 37 not 10 years old. Refused tea and coffee unless I sat in the restaurant?

Asked the reception and told I am allowed but not willing to tell the staff in the restaurant.

The hotel is a lovely oldy world style hotel but needs some mod cons

Don't think we are the only people that would like a coffee in the morning

Servis staff also very nice!
Room spacious, only the air conditioning was not possible! Ok, keep it there in November too! Although it was still very warm, up to 24 degrees!
Housekeeping did clean, but left a lot to be desired!
Bed sheets weren't even changed in 7 days, although a big tip was given on the first day!
The bathroom was never cleaned thoroughly either! Yellow traces on the tiles next to the toilet!

Nice car rental 50 meters away (towards the city, across from the park). Not expensive either! Parking at the hotel a bit problematic, but if you have rented the linen from the rental company in question, you can park there in the courtyard without any problems!
The absolute blast was, a bottle of red wine in the room on arrival with 2 glasses and NO corkscrew!

Incredible location and excellent services. The problem is a Taormina that has remained inadequate to the tourist flow. E.g. Just look at the Diodoro carpet to understand that unfortunately no investments are made

Wonderful place, very friendly staff, highly recommended

It is supposed to be 4 starts hotel. The building is nice. We had a family room for 4 without any view. We asked for a room with a view and there were many available, but they asked additional cost for it so we skipped.
There's no kettle in the room! No cups, no spoons, nothing. Just a room with some old TV set.
The coffee for breakfast is cold, even if you ask for hot one or cappuccino. It always comes cold. Very average breakfast. We were expecting much more from 4 stars.
So expect to pay high for an average stay.

This hotel is for tour groups. This means that their customer is the tour operator, not you, so normal standards of customer service don t apply. Staff are often rude and unhelpful - even when you speak their language. Breakfast food uses the cheapest possible ingredients, fruit juice from powder, plastic ham, processed cheese etc. The rooms are ok despite the weird furniture. Not sure if the pool ever opens. The Diodoro is a bad advert for the otherwise lovely town of Taormina.

This was our honeymoon we are an older couple and were so looking forward to it sadly, it was a total disappointment we could not sleep at night for Chinese up until 3.30 in the morning shouting and making terrible noise they even jumped onto our balcony and took our table and chairs we informed night manager who did nothing. Also it was not at all clean and needs bringing into the 21 century very old and tired. The food was was not good either so we ended up eating out a lot. Such a shame

Great service, great view, nice environment with style

Very nice hotel, ideally located. Close to the center, the ancient theater and Villa Communale garden, it is nevertheless quiet. <br/> The rooms are spacious. We especially enjoyed our terrace overlooking the sea. <br/> The staff is very friendly. <br/> A small problem about the equipment of our room: a kettle or / and what to make a coffee would have been appreciated @

Priceless view of the Gulf of Taormina and excellent services. The furnishing and the rooms should be renewed to remove the sad patina of the 70s that characterizes them. The hotel is in a spectacular spot of Taormina, however.
