I have stayed in this hotel many times.Recently I stayed in May 18 for 4 nights, I found that services and quality have been deteriorated. Complimentary breakfast menu is reduced to less than 50%, swimming pool is dirty. Don't dare to swim or ready for skin allergies.

Hotel Vaishali is located at the heart of Kathmandu City, Nepal. It is situated one of the best location in Thamel. I spend two days in this hotel. The rooms are big enough. Its neat and clean also. But the bathroom is somehow not clean. Air conditioning system is not properly working. So the room's temperature is not comfortable.
The foods are delicious, staffs are very coperative. And they are quite friendly and helpful too. Free Wifi available here. The swimming pool is too small but nice. The hotel have a big open space. I recommend this hotel who visits Kathmandu city.

Hotel service, security and arrangement was good enough. Stuff service r more hlepful. Room arrangement and view site from the room was so nice. I booked a double room with breakfast and I surprised after seeing their buffet breakfast arrangement on 6.30am. There so many items and choice for everyone arranged in breakfast.

Hotel is good, staff is very cooperative and welcoming.Rooms are neat and clean. Food quality is very good.

It is very near to the airport and just take 30-35 minutes to reach there from the airport.

Very good place to stay, usually out of my price range but I stayed on a group tour. Spacious, clean rooms, a bit noisy as they are replacing the bathrooms. Good breakfast, nice pool and good WiFi in the rooms. Very pleasant and helpful staff, would definitely recommend. In an area surrounded by shops, bars etc but quiet as it is set back a bit.

Hotel Vaishali is a magnificent hotel in Kathmandu...

Hotel Vaishali is a magnificent hotel in Kathmandu. It's near to the world renowned Sri Pashupatinath Temple and the Sri Guhyeshwari. It's just 30-45 minutes drive from the airport. One can relax in the pool and book drinks while ur relaxing. The restaurant provides both veg and non veg menus, it's a continental breakfast ranging from bread to all sorts Indian breakfast. The Indians don't need to pay the bills in the Nepali Rupee and can pay in Indian Rupees itself. If a person is interested to go to Kailash Yaatra, then the hotel has its own tour organiser- "Touch Kailash". There is even Cloak Room facility if your going to the Kailash Yaatra and stayed in that hotel before the departure.
There are many nightclubs around the hotel if one is interested in the night life. There are many shopping centers around the hotel. You can even exchange your foreign currency to Nepal currency (not applicable for Indians).
Overall it's a good hotel and one enjoys their stay at the hotel.
Thank You
Bye

Unfortunately, the elevators were broken on arrival and the bellman overstrained. Wore our luggage to the 4th floor. The room was large and spacious with a view of the pool. In front of the window everything is full of cooing pigeons, which are lucky but locally. The food was unfortunately not very rich. The staff was very nice and tried hard

Housekeeping and room service is amazing.

Housekeeping and room service is amazing.
At the centre of the tourists attraction.

Food was not that great in taste but good on stomach.
:-).
I mean as an Indian I expected used to more of indian masala a little more of salt and little more og Colors.

But I understand that you serve international crowd and make the dishes accordingly :-)

I stayed at only two hotels in Kathmandu, and this...

I stayed at only two hotels in Kathmandu, and this was the lesser of the two. The free breakfast in the morning was old, repetitive, and not good in the least. The rooms were the worst part. The beds were like sleeping on a yoga mat on the floor. The showers were hot 30% of the time. The A/C ended up leaking and streaming across our floor. And the wifi was incredibly spotty. I'd have been bothered by the constant brown outs too, but that's unavoidable no matter where you are in the city. Every so often you could heard rats or mice scurrying around in the ceiling or walls. The staff worked on plumbing all throughout the day, making all sorts of noise.

The only thing I can say that is good about this place is the lobby/entry area looks nice. However, maybe instead of spending their money on first impressions, they should focus on making sure their guest's stay is pleasant.

I did a trek into the Himalayas a week before and the little teahouses were a dozen times better than here. If you're going to spend $60 (how much we paid) a night on a hotel in Kathmandu, you could do better than Hotel Vaishali.
