Hotel Staro Review

The hotel is very comfortable. 4 km from the center. A quiet place. Away from the crowds of the city center. The girls at the reception, especially the female Olga, very sixak, very sweet. Feel yourself at home. Everything is good and the minibar does not cool down. I had to go to the supermarket to buy something cold.

Cozy and welcoming hotel in a nice area. We were always welcomed by a smile by the guard at the entrance and had everything we needed for our stay. Room service is available for a good price considering other European countries. Only minus is the limited English skills in the reception. You will be find with the normal communications, but arranging anything more advanced will be harder.

Excellent hotel. Close enough to main attractions. Removed enough to be quiet at night. Very helpful staff. Wonderful array of breakfast items. We ordered room service after a long day. It was delivered quickly and delicious. Very pleased here and would stay again.

A very, very decent hotel with large spacious rooms and service, but unfortunately the price for the rooms is expensive and therefore lowered the estimate. Everything is very clean, quiet and safe.

No running hot water in the mornings in a four star hotel is just unacceptable. The food and staff are extremely nice here but the excuse of a fully booked hotel as the reason behind no hot water is not my problem and is something I should never hear. I highly discourage booking this hotel!

It was nice hotel near town centre. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were speaking english and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was mediocre, croissants filled with nutella were the peak. Coffee could have been better.

Location is very good, easy to access with metro or nothern public transport or taxi. Lots of bars and restauraunts near by.
Would visit again.

Staro Hotel is really beautiful hotel with a very helpful and friendly staff. The reception works really fast and professional. Rooms are cosy and clean. The noises from the corridor you still can hear, but all the other advantages will definitely convince me to come back here. The breakfast is good, variety of vegetarian dishes and awesome grilled chicken and sweet pancakes. Good 4 star hotel. Definitely recommended.

Very nice hotel in a nice area.
Meals are ok and there's quite a choice for breakfast. There's a small supermarket just across the road that have most things. There's also several places where you can change money nearby. We found that there was a bit of a language barrier but we always got by. All in all a very nice place. Clean and tidy, with nice sized rooms. The taxi for the airport was too expensive either. Would definitely recommend this place and if I'm fortunate enough to return to Kiev I would go back to the Staro!

I stayed here overnight with my boyfriend, and we were impressed. Everything was so cosy, beautiful, luxurious and neat! We enjoyed our stay here, that's why we highly recommend this hotel.

Comfy rooms of good size; charming decor based on Alphonse Mucha's Art Nouveau style. Exercise room on the premises. Note that there is a flight of steps from the street to the front entrance.

The Staro is a out-of-date Hotel (no where even near a Boutique Hotel as acclaimed here, quite the opposite) very retro, dark and very old fashioned furniture,however it is also spotless clean and the beds comfortable.
Breakfast Buffet offers plenty, but maybe still not enough healthy -food for western standards.
I liked the location as you were outside the modern centre and still within walking distance to it, to get a feel for the town and the people. You find some nice bars just a few steps away for having a good craft beer and some typical dishes of the area.

Quite difficult to find a clean and reasonably priced hotel near Kiev center. For the weekend the hotels are filling up very quickly. The pictures of the beautiful hotels may not be the same as the rooms you see. So either staying in remote hotels near the airport or staying in rather expensive expensive hotels. If you treat it a bit early, the Staro hotel is quite a nice alternative with art deco design and clean rooms. It is located in the neighborhood as the old town passes. Aralkl albeit a lot of pubs and 3rd wave cafes are on the streets. The breakfast was just mediocre, I guess it's a general situation for this region.

Not a good hotel for a price-quality. In some way, it's annoying that if you need to do something, you can not get an iron, you have to hand over the things of the maid

Art Deco style, the hotel is nice, located in the old Podol area, close to the city center, there are several restaurants and bars nearby. The room I had was big and clean and the bathroom too. The breakfast was poor, just some cakes (not fresh), fruits, bread and eggs. The officiants are nices and attentives.

Excellent hotel very helpful courteous staff will do their utmost to fulfil your wishes They organised a mini bus taxi and guide to take us to most of the places to visit in Kiev at our request which was relatively inexpensive and well worth the money. Well done to the hotel manager

Absolutely beautiful hotel, friendly staff who speak English. Woman at the front desk has been nothing but helpful and kind helping us discover new sights. Bathrooms are clean along with the rest of the room. Great value for a historic location close to the Chernobyl museum and 2 metro locations. If we come to Kiev again we will absolutly book this hotel again!

When I first came to Kiev I stayed at this hotel, the rooms are normal.

Very decent look. The design is super. Service and quality of service at the feedback of guests at the level. But there is a question. The hotel offers thai massage & ukrainian massage services. I would like to hear what does deflation mean ukrainian massage?

Large rooms, comfortable beds, efficient air conditioning, internet with a small shortness of breath, art deco interior, far from the center, friendly service, payment only cash, mid-level breakfasts.

Very beautiful building. If you were a tourist, not a local, you would definitely try to book a room. I hope the internal quality corresponds to the external. The hotel has its own private parking. Near the beautiful Podolsky Park Square, where you can go to bed before going to bed.

Lovely boutique hotel in old Kyiv (Kiev) and close to the city centre. It has been decorated in Art Nouveau style with lovely spacious rooms and bathrooms. The reception is well laid out with dramatic Art Nouveau designs. The breakfast there is out of this world - fresh and extremely tasty, a wide selection of cold and hot dishes. Definitely the place to stay if ever in Kiev :-)

I met foreign guests there for several consecutive days. The hotels have their own parking, which is closed to the barrier and I have never been allowed to go there any time. Marasmus

A very nice and tidy hotel for it s price. Breakfast: very enjoyable. Big selection. Much better than in other similar hotels I ve been to.
Rooms: decent size, tidy, modern furniture and appliances. Staff members are friendly and do their jobs well.
Location: a bit away from the town centre, but close enough to be easily accessible. It is not a big deal if you use Uber to get around, which is very cheap in Kiev.

On the plus side: the hotel is located near the center in a quiet location (10-15 minutes by car, 2 metro stops). The hotel is fresh, nice rooms, nice interior, friendly staff.
Cons: not comfortable pillows, the mini bar is not always filled.

Was only in the restaurant. In general, the place is not bad. Enough entourage. They are hosting various events that pleases.

I appreciate there are no trams going right around the hotel as it is in many other cases in Kyiv.

Not bad hotel in Podol area. About 5 to 10 minutes walking to the post square. Located in quite dude street beside small park. Rooms and the design little be outdated but all in good condition. Staff is pretty helpful and nice. Breakfast is very good with Soviet Union look - Nostalgian Soviet salads with mayonnaise but also omelets and etc. I have ordered a dinner to the room- all was testy and good. I forgot my cellphone charges and reception girls gave me spare one for free. In the bottom line- I like my 7days stay in this hotel.

Everything was tasty, but on the second day after the holiday, I and some of my colleagues felt very bad. Two obvious signs of poisoning :(
