Great acomodation in historic boutique hotel. Excellent resataurant and very convenient downtown Coral Gables location. Staff at front desk was friendly. In particular, Ms. Evelyn was very helpful from the time we made our phone resrevation till our checking out of the hotel.
Called to make reservation. Person who took call either can t speak english or was high. Maybe both. After several attempts to communicate I gave up - called Hyatt. Figure if the person they put in charge of the telephone is a bad communicator, maybe the person in charge of cleaning the rooms is equally incompetent.
I would give this place 10 stars..I stayed here for 9 days after my surgery staff and service superb..rooms very clean ..the staff is very friendly personable and there for your every need.I will always stay here when visiting Miami
I loved the look of the hotel and the close proximity to where I needed to go as well as some cool eateries. Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Nice staff. Needed a staff member to run the antique elevator, but they were right there. No coffee in the room, but was in the lobby in the morning. The restaurant downstairs smelled amazing, but I did not have the pleasure of eating there. Great cable channels available. Price was great.
Hotel was beautiful! There's one elevator and it's an old school elavator-really unique to ride in it. Otherwise took the stairs most of the time. The room was cleaned and very cute. Bathroom was amazing, only downfall was that there's no circulation for the bathroom so it solid get stuffy at times but you could always pop the window open. Staff was friendly and very accommodating even at 2am when requesting for more towels. Easy access to get to. You can park on the street and pay for street parking-it's free from midnight to 6am or you can park in the garage for $16 a day. Be sure to let the front desk know that you are leaving so they can allow you to get out. Would definitely stay here.
Rooms are on the smaller side but bathroom space is reasonable. Antiques in rooms a cool feature. Standard expected appliances like iron+ironing board, tea/coffee maker, safe nor mini fridge not included in the rooms. These inclusions are essential for people on business travel (like myself)
This is a cute and unique hotel in a great location. My company got an excellent price. It's full of antique furniture and has a cool old fashioned elevator, and they give you an actual key to the room (not card key). My room was missing some of the amenities you might find in typical modern hotel rooms like a coffee maker, iron, and luggage stand, but I would stay here again. The bed was comfortable, AC worked great. They offered a limited continental breakfast of cereal, pastries, coffee and juice.
Very good hotel though old. There is no minibar in the room, no room or laundry service, and no breakfast. elevator that has to be operated by officials. the location is very good, close to several restaurants.
The place is beautiful, but we had a room next to the old and loud elevator. Trying to sleep at a reasonable time was hard until after 11PM. Parking: You'll have to pay an additional $20 a day. The built-in diner requires a more upscale dress code as well, FYI.
We had a perfect stay in Hotel St. Michel. Not only the rooms were very clean but also the staff was amazingly helpful. Rather than staying in crowded Miami city center I would again prefer this hip place in Coral Gables.
Home rather cold and more summary. Strict minimum or insufficient for the price of the room. The location is ideal, the hotel very beautiful and historic but service very much less.
I stayed here for my wife's birthday and we loved it. If you're into out-of-the-box hotels and love the 'vintage' feel, then this place is for you. It's a very romantic place to stay with your significant other.
VERY lovely hotel with an incredibly friendly, gracious staff. When you book direct, it s difficult to beat the price for such a nice experience. Our room was perfectly modern with unique historic touches. The building itself was gorgeous.
This wasn t a problem for us, but don t expect a fridge, microwave, or coffee maker (at least in the Deluxe Queen Room). There is a flatscreen TV (with capabilities to cast from your laptop/phone), comfy mattress, plush towels, nice toiletries, water, ice, etc. If you are driving a car, there is a parking garage directly across the street that s only $25 per night (billed through the hotel). Overall, highly recommend.
Quaint boutique hotel. Loved the elevator!! Great service. Small but cozy rooms furnished with antiques. Bathroom needed counter space, but the sink was really cute!
Highest recommendations for this hotel, its location, and the staff! The hotel is both upscale and cozy. Enjoy the history of an original Coral Gables building, complete with a functioning 20s elevator, large windows, and lovely mosaics. Plenty of Ubers and the free trolley make it easy to visit Flagler, the Vizcaya Mansion, Winwood Walls, Miracle Mile, and the many nearby consulates. Be sure to ask the concierge for food recommendations. Aina, one concierge, even went so far as to email great locations throughout the day!
From the 4C Group of Companies we would like to recommend St. Michel to anyone. Our Managing Director and Software Manager stayed with them while on business in Miami the passed week and had a marvelous experience with regard to service excellence and adding that personal touch. The members of staff were helpful and informative at all times going the extra mile for the guest.
The rooms are sort of spacious, The rooms have an old school vibe in a good way with a hint of modern, which is nice to see since you don t see it often in hotels nowadays. The food is ok.. The food used to be delicious when chef Charlie, Oscar and his wife were here. The food back then was outstanding, they were very good people and because of them it was worth coming to this hotel, those chefs never failed to put a smile on your face since they would come out and greet you. It s unfortunate how things have changed over the years.
An old hotel in a great part of town. Sadly this place is in desperate need of a renovation. No wi-fi or mini fridge. The toiletries are very cheap and the mattress has seen better days. The layer of dirt in the rooms is a real shame.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Hotel St Michel. The rooms are small but intimate, cozy & romantic. The staff we're the best! They were all so friendly & helpful. And when our wedding (elopement) look like it was all going to go wrong, they all went above & beyond to make it happen! We look forward to a return visit. This may not be for everyone, but if you're looking for a lovely boutique hotel we highly recommend the St Michel!
Very quaint. It appears to be an old building with recent renovations that make the rooms look very nice. Service was great as well. I was unable to check-in early, but the receptionist volunteered to store my luggage, and even got my suit pressed for me. It was waiting in my room when I arrived a few hours later. I'd definitely recommend this spot for any other solo travellers.
Beautiful building, rooms were extremely clean very tastefully decorated and surprisingly large. The elevator is AMAZING, especially if you love classic bras designes. Pleanty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Definitely coming back
Do not stay here, misrepresented on website. Under renovation, restaurant is closed. Very noisy. Rooms old, like staying at your grandmother's. Parking difficult even though you are charged per day rate.
This place was so amazingly clean! We stayed in a modern style double queen room. It was European style, so no bureau, refrigerator, or microwave, but there was a TV and a desk with one chair. The bathroom was very modern. I would not suggest bringing the whole family here for multiple days, but it was great for an overnight business trip to Miami.
A great history hotel. It has the old times elegance combined with the modern conveniences. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bathroom has a rain shower and feels like a spa with all the marble. You can actually open the windows to enjoy the fresh air on a rainy night.
It's a very charming place. Even though the first thought we had was of the American Horror Story: Hotel (that elevator!), we were happy to find out that the place wasn't in fact haunted. Quite the opposite. Charming staff and really interesting blend of old and new features. The room was comfortable but a little sparse. There's no coffee/tea or a minibar in the room but there's a lovely restaurant downstairs, which makes up for it to a degree. We happened to stay in what they called "an experimental room" which meant it had a little android tablet on the bedside table that could control the lights and tell you about the weather, set an alarm, etc. All in all, a lovely hotel in a great location.
The owner of the hotel is a great human being and the management is super nice
The hotel has great character that you will not find in other hotels in the area
Even the elevator is awesome you have to hand operate it with a giant liver super cool This is an actual elevator that needs an operator these types of elevator just don't exist in Miami
Artsy, Elegant, Peaceful, Quite, Sanitary and the Concierge services from the morning and from recently Sunday night were high-end. Even with the Pandemic going on they are on it. Not feeling $4 bottle waters though. Aside from that couldn't ask for more.
If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBully. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

Old but charming. The hotel doesn't provide much in modern hotel amenities, but the service was everything you could ask for. The hotel staff was very tentative to anything we needed. The location is wonderful and allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
An elegant and charming boutique hotel on the center of Coral Gables, it has a great bar on the first floor of the Zucca italian restaurant with excellent food and warm ambiance. Excellent location to walk to Galleries, Book stores, restaurants Movie Theater just to name some.
This is a hidden gem in the Gables. Very reasonably priced and super quaint. Amazing staff and superb Italian restaurant downstairs (Zucca). I come here for mini-getaways as much as I can. Walking distance to everything you would want to do in the Gables. Rooms are all unique and super clean. I can it recommend this place enough. My favorite hotel in Miami.
Great place and amenities located in a beautiful commercial area. However I had difficulty w hot and cold. Meaning I like HOT showers and a COLD room to sleep in, I struggled to get both! I had all the hot water that I needed from the sink however for my shave. Despite the minor inconveniences I'd go back in a heartbeat... Which means probably this weekend!!
I travel a lot for work and traditionally stay in the big name hotels. When the big name hotels were booked for a workshop I was attending, I ended up at St Michel due to its proximity. This is a very unique hotel and has lots of charm. The manually operated elevator and original elements in my room were awesome. Having a wardrobe instead of a closet and the physical key for my room door were classic and wonderful compliments. If you are looking for a hotel with amenities and room service, this is not your place. If you are looking for a great place to stay and can appreciate old world charm, Hotel St Michel is a great option.
******The restaurant below Hotel St Michel is extremely fancy, and I felt out of place. Maybe it was me, but I wanted others who see this to know. Hotel is great, but I'm not a fan of the restaurant.
