Beautiful from the outside. Inside somewhat old-fashioned interior. Staff is very friendly. Was initially given a room that smelled like sewer. Don't think that was unknown since an electric air freshener was clogged. Furthermore, paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and the mechanical shower plug was broken. Picking with your hands to get that out. Junior suite and above look good.

Friendly welcome in a beautiful setting. Our room 31 was neat and unique with the open roof construction, not specially spacious but certainly spacious enough for us.
Breakfast was good, what you expect and no more. For me it did not exceed expectations and it was with expectations.

A beautiful, historic location that will take you back in time with a little imagination. The (bed) rooms have been modernized for the requirements of today, well grab it in the early 2000s. Because the TV is not HD, and an iPod docking station is now also outdated. Anyway, the beds slept really well and the breakfast was great: fresh and reasonable, especially Dutch; think of sandwiches with various fillings of your choice, yogurt, scrambled eggs and bacon, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and tea.

Nice setting. My room was at the attic, so the ceiling was slanting at both sides. For a tall person it was not possible to walk straight up. Very quiet, good matrass. The bathroom had the same problem, combing my long hair was not possible in front of the mirror. Friendly personnel, good service.

Had a lunch board today through a social deal. Staff were friendly and I would give it 5 stars. However, the young man was all alone and so we had to wait about an hour for our bread board. The bread board worth 14 euros was certainly not worth it. The quiche was half warm, the meatballs dry and chewy and it wasn't much exciting as 2 slices of dry sausage, pate and 2 slices of cheese. No, unfortunately not a winner. A pity as it is a beautiful location where you can walk.

A dinner at Doenrade Castle is a party! Price / quality ratio is good! They have a very nice dinner menu, you don't know what to choose, it looks great and it tastes even better! Keep it up!

Today at Castle Doenrade for a high day on Mother's Day. Hightea is strongly discouraged here. First of all we arrived and saw that the high tea was in a buffet form. So kindly to indicate this in advance when booking. Food was certainly not special and very mediocre. The round of sweets literally came from a bag of the store. Dry and not tasty.
Finally, the bill turned out to be higher than indicated in advance! Once and never again!

We were in the family room. A very dark room that didn't really make you happy. There is no refrigerator in the room. What a huge loss, especially when it was so hot. The rooms are also very noisy. Early in the morning we were surprised with a bath moment from the neighbors. It was as if they were in the room with us.
A very positive point of the hotel is the staff. They do their utmost to arrange things as well as possible for the guests.
In short, in terms of price and accommodation a moderate. Staff, excellent.

Today High tea at Doenrade Castle. This was very disappointing. No preparation from the table, no nice encourage. No explanation about snacks. Multiple snacks not prepared by yourself. You expect a good price-quality ratio for such a beautiful location. Unfortunately

A few years ago that I was there. 2012. At that time there was not much life to be found. But the castle had certainly been refurbished. And that is always better than abandoning. Have not been inside, only made a few pictures from outside.

We booked a walking package through Social deal. The castle has a beautiful appearance. We had a wonderful time on the terrace. It was a pity that we had to wait almost 50 minutes for our sandwich board. 1000 apologies, as compensation we both got a free drink. The board was delicious and did a lot of good. Then we took a walk around Doenrade. All in all, definitely recommended.

We would be welcomed very nicely. All employees tried very hard to fulfill all requests.
Room was exceptionally beautiful, both in terms of ambience and furnishings.
In addition, the food was exceptionally good and more than reasonable in terms of price.

The small castle where the hotel is located has a beautiful atmosphere. When you arrive you arrive under tall trees on the driveway. There you will immediately see the terrace at the front of the castle, where you can enjoy a drink outside. The rooms are okay. Because the hotel is located in a castle, people were probably limited by the original spaces. This may make some rooms appear smaller. For example, we had a very small bathroom but had no discomfort. The restaurant is very good and attractive. We have only used breakfast ourselves. This was good. The buffet is somewhat limited but everything is there. The hotel itself is not large and so you can find it in everything. It is a beautiful hotel in an old castle with a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere.

The location is gorgeous and the staff is really nice.
Excellent free parking in the structure.
I think we were unlucky with the room as it was really noisy. We stayed for just one night but we couldn't rest at all.
The room price was affordable, but everything else is really expensive. A bottle of water 6 euros.
All in all it's a nice hotel, but I wouldn't go back.

Fine Hotel accommodation in Doenrade Castle, friendly service. Nice terrace, nice ambiance. Own parking space. Wheelchair accessible. Beautiful walking and cycling area around the castle with marked routes through the fields. Great for parties and parties or meetings.

Everything was still standing on the 5 terrace tables. Takes a long time for operation. Everything makes an unkempt impression.

Very friendly service and the best milk coffee I have ever drunk in the Netherlands. Can charge your electric vehicles there.

Nice ambiance, too bad that the reception seems a bit of a poor child. You can relax on the terrace. About the friendly staff only compliments. We are going to have dinner there soon so we will continue.

My husband and I were there in the first week of November 2016. It all looks a bit 'old-fashioned', but also charmingly associated with such a building. Creaky floors, good beds, wonderful duvets. Great breakfast, wonderful dinner.

Menu was OK but not overwhelming. The tartar starter was very nicely presented.

Doenrade Castle is a great starting place to explore South Limburg.

Great and cozy hotel. Atmospheric, but fairly small room. It was quite hot in the room, but luckily our room had air conditioning. Some staff in the service seems a bit inexperienced. Breakfast was good and extensive.
