The location and the service are the 2 main reasons why I will be back to this hotel when I return to Malta in the future. The hotel was very clean, decent breakfast and has a great roof deck pool bar. ILHAM at the front desk made sure we were well taken care of. She took ownership and made sure we were fully satisfied with our stay. She is an asset to the hotel!

This is a tranquil and peaceful little hotel on the bottom of the hill by the bay. The breakfast is full and you are given a full selection and the service staff is very helpful and friendly. The Rooms are kept very clean and the size of the rooms are much larger than most other hotels. Its also painted with light pastel colours this also puts a calm effect on the customers. This hotel was re-fitted and upgraded to its present status, this i was told by the night manager a Mr. Alfred Camelliery a very helpful person from the hotel. I recommend this hotel as a great place to stay taking everything the hotel offers in the St Julians bay area.
I enjoyed my stay there and look forward to staying there again on my next visit.
Cheers,
G.Kurian esq.

A welcome break from the hustle and bustle outside, nicely decorated if not showing signs of use. A comfortable nights sleep on a large bed in a dark quiet room. The pool area is a lovely place to relax but the bar could do with keeping more drinks in the fridges. All in all 4.5 stars.

Had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Juliani over the New Year (yup, it has been quite some time back!). The hotel is conveniently located in Valleta and overlooks St. Julian's bay. There are bus stops just outside the hotel which brings you to most places, including the airport and the ferry terminal to Gozo Island. McDonalds is just next door, with many other restaurants and pubs to choose from. The clinic, pharmacy and convenient stores are all within walking distance as well. There are dvds which you can borrow from the reception, though mostly old movies. Hotel breakfast had a good variety that serves some local Malta snacks too. Beverage can be ordered and served from the counter. Hotel staff are friendly too.

Fantastic Hotel. Staff are amazing, The rooms are beautiful, breakfast & lunch here was fabulous. The restaurant Zest is second to none, absolutely beautiful food. The rooftop pool is special, it has a jacuzzi. This is a little gem of a place. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Great hotel. Great breakfast. Nice bar - thanks Sandy for the well-intentioned drinks ...... Mr. Manwel is the friendliest receptionist we have ever seen. Always in a good mood. Solves all little ailments. Thank you for the pleasant stay.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfortable with everything you could need. There is a large selection of food on offer for breakfast and for snacks. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful.
It was a lovely place to stay in the centre of At Julian's Bay

When booking our hotel in Malta, we had relied on the many very positive reviews of the hotel and at the end, on the spot, bitterly disappointed. We are on 16.06. arrived at the hotel at 2:00 in the morning. The entrance of the hotel was absolutely unimpressive as it was NOT lit. In front of the main entrance was a wall full of planks, so the entrance was closed! Next to it went up a very narrow staircase. A small sign on the wall indicates that the reception is at the top. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude and offered us two women also NO help. In all seriousness, we had to carry our heavy heads ALONE up the steep stairs. The next morning at 7:30 am we were awakened by excessively loud construction noise. That dragged on for the whole week. The hotel is extremely dirty due to the construction work on ALL floors, in the entrance and pool area as well as in the dining room! None of the emergency exits were open, the doors to the staircase were closed! Since the stairwell is under construction. The room we stayed in had a window to a light shaft. Thus, it was always dark in the room and you could of course completely forgotten! In addition, there were new technical defects in our room every day. Shower broken (this was until the end only extremely limited), fridge did not work, cabinet light defect, water damage in one floor above us (this had to staff in our bathroom to the damage to check, but the ceiling tile was never mounted again.) Beyond The air conditioning in the room was extremely noisy even on the smallest level. So it was almost impossible to sleep in peace. The service was also mixed. Except for the receptionists Katja (She was always accommodating, helpful and very friendly, as you would expect on holiday!) All other ladies and gentlemen were all extremely rude and not helpful. You always get the feeling that you are not wanted here. This continued with the service staff in the evening. Especially the restaurant manager always radiated a bad mood and was the guests very rude and arrogant! I would advise against the current circumstances, anyone who wants to relax and above all to enjoy all around and still enjoy excellent service, advised not to book here!

Excellent Boutique Hotel! One of the best in the area, excellent service, good value for money! Facilities in very good condition, very close to the best restaurants in ST. Julian, the best view on Spinola bay! It is recommended to see the sunrises from your terrace

Nice mid-range hotel and well located near restaurants and transportation. Rooms and beds are very comfortable. The highlight of this hotel, however, are the excellent staff who excel at customer service.

45m2 room, new, tastefully decorated, clean. Overlooking the bay. Attentive staff We were greeted that we only saw 5 * GL, sat at the bar with welcome coctail while giving us all kinds of explanations of the hotel. The restaurant is good for those who like Asian cuisine. Very limited parking (6 seats), although we did not have any problem any day. Although it is far from La Valletta there are buses that stop in front of the hotel and take you to the Porta de la Valletta. St Julian's is an area with numerous restaurants.

Well love Malta and we love Hotel Juliani.

Well love Malta and we love Hotel Juliani.

In the heart of Spinola Bay with so many amenities nearby, the hotel really has it all on its doorstep.

The rooms are wonderful and spacious, bright, contemporary and well executed... the balcony area was amazing, although because it was so large (and this was so enjoyable) would have benefited from a couple of sun loungers.

The breakfast was great and service at the cafe, reception and roof top were all first class. I believe this is a 4 star but in my opinion, this hotel is closer to 5 star with the attention to detail and ensuring their customer is satisfied. Well done, Hotel Juliani!

A stylish hotel with wonderful views of Spinola Bay. The breakfast you can get used to (American + British style), the selection is large. The staff is friendly and the rooms always tidy. Some could disturb the traffic noise, but the church bell I found far worse. All in all, we had a wonderful holiday here

It is an ok place to stay. Bear in mind this is far from downtown Valetta but St Julian's bay is pretty hipster and cool. The beds are a big big let down. The mattress is extremely uneven which means it is not flat and makes sleeping quite difficult. The cleaners may be overworked for the hotel understaffed because we hung the 'please clean the room' sign at 10 am but even at 3pm it was left untouched. Only when we told the front counter staff did they clean it. The female front counter staff was quite impatient.

My partner and I did hotel hopping in Malta in July 2020. Hotel Juliani was undoubtedly the best stop on our hotel hopping map . Once we arrived to the hotel it was still a couple of hours until the check-in time. We were greeted by a very kind receptionist with a welcome drink which was a very nice welcoming touch. After a couple of minutes our room was ready. We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite featuring amazing Spinola Bay views. The room was spacious, bright and properly cleaned; so was the bathroom, where you will find high-end toiletries from L Occitane and Azzaro.
The only downside I could find was a lacking coffee machine, otherwise the room was absolutely fantastic.
In terms of service, all reception and restaurant staff was kind and helpful. There could be a tiny tad more variety for breakfast but if you fancy anything that s not on the menu, just ask and they will make it happen.
I pay a lot of attention to glassware and tableware in hotels and Hotel Juliani is my absolute winner in this regard. They serve drinks in beautiful Italian glassware, not just some rough fat cups like it was pretty much everywhere else. I give brownie points for that :-).
The hotel has a rooftop pool also featuring views over Spinola Bay. It s great to relax by the pool with a drink after the sightseeing day trip. If you come with kids that want to play around with inflatable mattresses and unicorns and run around, that rooftop area may not be the most suitable place for such activities, but if you re a couple looking to spend some relaxing time - be sure Hotel Juliani is where you will surely have it.
We initially booked the hotel for three nights but the atmosphere and the welcoming owner easily convinced us to stay longer. If we ever return to Malta, we will definitely stay in Hotel Juliani! Thank you!

Booked the hotel for reviews. We had a little trouble the first night but the porter, the quality manager and the hotel manager solved this to our great satisfaction! Staff very friendly, rooms fine and atmosphere good. Our expectations were not only fulfilled but even exceeded. Highly recommended.

Worth staying at only if you book a standard room with sea view. Avoid paying extra for breakfast, not worth it. Wrong positioning/pricing of the hotel, would not pay more than 70-80 euros for a standard room. Staff did not give a single smile the entire 3 nights stay, sad attitude and no joy at all. Restaurant Zest is highly overpriced too, avoid it by any means, and better enjoy restaurants located outside. We made a mistake staying at the Juliani Hotel and shortened our stay. I gave a detailed feedback of our experience to the manager in person, and I feel its important for people to know about my feedback too. Best

Located in a strategic position of Malta; in the evening there is no need to take the car as all the best restaurants are in the area. Nice rooms, clean. The breakfast is great.
The swimming pool on the terrace is beautiful, suggestive in the evening.

Very nice and traditional hotel in good location directly by the water. The rooms are nicely furnished and we had a good view on the water watching the sunset. The lobby is nicely decorated with some artificial waterfalls on the walls. There is a nice roof top pool.

A decent renovated city hotel. A good starting point for an island exploration by bus. Bus stop is directly at the hotel.
Room direction land side is very quiet. Window goes to the small courtyard.
Bathroom is super equipped. Hair dryer, clothes line, bath products are available. Also bathrobe and shoes.
The breakfast is excellent. You get as much coffee, cappuccino etc as you like. Fruit salad, rolls and sweets are of very good quality.

It's got a cave on the first floor! Due to historical preservation ordinances they're not allowed to touch it. Can serve as an excellent time-out spot for ill-behaved spouses or children. Just do not leave them behind as I am sure the hotel staff is tired of that hassle. Hotel has a good view of Spinola Bay and is right in the center of many restaurants. Public bus stop out front should be handy in theory, but the traffic on the roads can lead to lengthy commuting treks for other points on the island. Hotel Juliani is a modern boutique hotel with a pool/sundeck on top, modern rooms, a jazz restaurant in the basement, an Asian-Fusion restaurant on the 2nd floor and a handy cafe on the first floor (don't pay your tab and you risk time in the cave. )

Comfortable clean rooms with great views and all amenities. The food and room service is from Zest restaurant. Hotel is conveniently located too. But best of all is the quality of service, from the crew to the front desk to the manager himself: always smiling, always helpful.
