Great food. Poor service. Our food has arrived before our drinks. Staff friendly but not efficient

First time visiting. Pretty street, very good pizza! Truly enjoyable, will visit again.

The best pizza in a long time !! Staff super friendly. You sit nicely too! I can only recommend it to everyone!
Prices a little higher

The staff was great they let us sit down even though they were closing which was super appreciated. You can sit outside in the pedestrian street which has a super atmosphere. The food (We had pizza) is superb. Will definitely return.

Not worth the Prize! The Carbonara was a disgrace to Italy!

It has one of the best pizzas i've ever tasted. It is expensive,yes... but the food matches up with that price. Definetly would go once more.

Lovely place to eat all day from appetizers to second / medium / high price dog / fish ... just one flaw per hour that I went or waited more than half an hour for two pasta dishes and a chicken salad and there were only two tables beyond us that had already been served

It is a nice and clean place. It was one of the best pizza we ever tasted.

We really enjoyed our dinner at "il teatro". The staff is young and very friendly. The atmosphere is also very nice - open bar and pizza preparation right infront of us.

The italian style food was very delicious, especially the calzone and the tiramisu. Also the offered wine was a great.

The staff was terrible . They didnt know how to take order . We seated inside and we thought it was a cool place with ac ,but it was hotter than outside. The food was good but it wasn't what we wanted.

We have visited this restaurant without a booking in the Christmas holidays. Granted, we had to wait 30 mins to just get a table. We placed the order for 2 plates of cacio e pepe spaghetti and we ordered a drink each. The food came to our table and on first glance it looked decent. We soon realised that rather than cacio e pepe, the sauce was mainly butter and pepper. You could see this first hand with how SHINY the pasta is in the photos (no camera flash was used). The only cheese was the grated cheese which was put on top of the pasta by what I believe would be the chef. First of all, one should not serve cacio e pepe with grated cheese on top, and secondly why would the sauce be butter and pepper? Please, aside from trying this dish on several occassions from Italy, we have tried this locally from a dozen of restaurants. This was by far the worse cacio e pepe we tasted. It being 10pm if not later, we ate the pasta with no complaint because we were starving. This, I regret, and which is why I am rating this restaurant at 3 stars and not less. Needless to say, we won't be returning - In the same street, there are at least 3 italian restaurants which do superior Cacio e Pepe.

Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. I still do not believe that this plate of pasta should be served with grated cheese on top (if it was served separately, then fine). The pasta sauce itself should taste of cheese and not butter. For clarification's sake, I mentioned that the pasta sauce tasted like butter. I did not mean that it should be served or it should contain butter (or cream). Having tasted this dish from many restaurants in Rome and locally (in my profile, you can see that I reviewed this plate in several places), my conclusion is that this is not up to the standards of other restaurants. We did not mind that it was more expensive, as long as it deserved it. Unfortunately, it did not.

Nice place and good pizza but the fish dishes are so awful they seem to come directly from rubbish bin. Worst octopus ever had IN MY WHOLE LIFE.

Very enjoyable food, my husband has pasta bolognese and I had a calzone.
Both very freshly made, quick service and a good price.
Also enjoyed desserts of Tiramisu and coffee gateau and a nice bottle of wine.
Nice staff also, would definitely return when in Valletta again.

In short: we sit at the table and as a first approach we are lost to the order from the dining manager with a rather irritated and unkindness. After about 70 minutes of waiting for two first courses, the same manager shows up asking us if we want dessert or coffee. Angered we note that the first ones have not yet arrived. After 10 minutes they finally arrive BUT my husband's cheese and pepper is a brine and my white rabbit sauce was from hospital and overcooked pasta. We get up and desolate we pay the payable and we leave. Avoid .... there is no kindness in Italian

Great Pizza with pizzaiolo from Puglia, chef from Rome.

A good pizza cooked in an electric oven. Friendly staff, average prices. The restaurant is visually clean and tidy, the only negative note: the toilet. In the bathroom there are no handkerchiefs to dry hands or dry electric hands, in its place a cotton towel used by everyone! Also it is impossible to pull water to the toilet because it is broken. (See photo) Recommended: NI.

Nice room, optimized layout, modern neat and very clean. Outside tables that, despite being late October, help not to feel 23-24 degrees in the evening. Friendly staff, helpful and attentive (also speak our language). Ordered a pizza margherita and a first course of fish and I must say both excellent. Of course, you can not expect the Neapolitan pizza doc, but there is commitment and passion and it shows. To come back.

Quite a nice pizza, service is a little slow but worth the waiting for

pizza was horrible, we have ordered two pizzas. one was very salty and the other one was watery. The base was completely soggy.
Bolognese pasta was smelly and the taste wasn t great.
When we complained, chef was so arrogant and he said this is the best pizza you can get in the world :))

Looks from the outside verry nice. But nothing special. Pizza was ok. Butt verry salt. The waitress are busy with them self and watch YouTube movies on the big tv screen. I was expecting more from it.

Great and tasty pizzas but ... really slow service. There were empty tables and it took 30 mins to be allowed to take a sit. Edit 06/09: I would understand it was for measurements of the body temperature. But first things first, that wasn't done at all to us. Secondly, we were the first in the queue. And last but not least, half the tables were empty.

Delicious pizzas, generous portions, nice service and cool terrace

With lots of choice around, we decided to try Il Teatro.

Service was very slow (took several minutes to even be offered a menu and there were 3 staff at one point stood around chatting) and not always with a smile from some waiters. Food wasnt bad; bit too much cheese for my liking which made the pizza a little soggy / greasy, but my wife enjoyed hers. Prices seemed a little higher than other places, but not extortionate.

All in all an okay experience, but I'll definitely try other places nearby before returning.

Went to this place for dinner and the service at the end was horrible. The waitress was very unprofessional and arrogant, when asked if it was possible to pay by card.
Didn t even ask if we wanted to pay all together or separate which made the person paid the full bill which wasn t the case. We were supposed to be paid separate and at the end she got funny for no reason and started to make fun of us. Need to know how to be a waitress and treat people with respect. By the way the food was good but the service, disgusting.

Nice pizza ...what I didn't like, to use the restrooms one has to go out of the restaurant & down a long stairs.

It will seem exaggerated but the pizza here, in my opinion, is unrivaled. You can see and feel that it is made with a lot of love and a lot of professionalism. The rest of the menu is not a joke but the pizza is of an indescribable goodness.

Wonderful pizzas, great service and live music... And the tiramisu was delicious! We had an amazing evening!

The meal was good, however my steak was smothered in greens. The environment could use some work. Inside was very hot, moreso than the outside temperature. It makes it hard to enjoy a meal while sweating bullets.

Other things I noticed was a very chaotic waitstaff with meals arriving via elevator and waiters not knowing what meal went where. They all seemed to default to one head staff member who knew what went where. Could use better organization

Terrible experience, pizza nothing special just fine, mussels and pasta tasteless, never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. The mussels besides the tastes looks bad, dry and without any flavour. Pasta it was just wrong, besides the taste the tagliatelle were already cutted in pieces, which if it's something I would like I'll ask or do myself but cut tagliatelle it's a crime or you hide that it's frozen not fresh food. Service mix feeling, some people were actually nice some others terrible. Don't think I'll ever come back, not sure how this place gets so many positive reviews.

Good cuisine that suffers from obvious Italian references. Good roast chicken, the pasta alla carbonara, the most exalted dish, spaghetti with seafood, just enough. Cost in the average of Malta.
