The hotel is great! The rooms are spacious and clean, the view from the top rooms are pretty nice.
Although it's not the best area for touring and stuff, you can get to the public transportations pretty easily from there.

The food is great for both lunch and dinner. Excellent service throughout the hotel. The front desk worker upon checkin was a little on the rude side but I write that off on translation/cultural differences perhaps.

Hotel very quiet. Ideal to rest. The facilities are impeccable. The same as the staff. Some rooms (especially those on the third floor) have details that do not correspond to a hotel in that category.
Enjoyable stay. The location is fantastic, with sights in walking distance in all directions. The front desk staff, bell hop, and spa staff were all extremely kind and professional. My only negative experience was with the concierge. After walking 20km around the city, we got back and realized we had a problem with our ferry. I asked the concierge to call (I don`t speak spanish)and he told me they don't pick up and gave me directions to walk to the office. I decided to go to my room and try and call anyway as I was too tired to walk more. They picked up but didn't speak very good english. We had a 5 star experience besides that

The attention was always excellent and breakfast too. But you notice that maintenance is lacking throughout the hotel, to be 5 stars. The spa is quite incomplete, there is only a pool (which was half cold and more for exercise than relaxing) and a sauna. The price of the massages seemed excessive.
The breakfast is very good.
The staff in all aspects of the hotel were excellent. From breakfast to dinner all the food was great. Rooms were clean, roomy, and a pleasure to stay in.

Rooms are outdated. Intercontinental its a brand that it's known for quality, not here. The only thing that is SUPERB its... the people.

When it comes to accommodations the rooms are not updated, beds, furniture, carpet, bathrooms need to be brought up to par with the brand.
Bad stuff first - initially the door staff were rather rude and seemed more interested in talking to each other then helping with the luggage or opening the door
Otherwise - the staff on the club floor were fab, rooms are a little dated but not shabby and are very comfortable. Good selection of restaurants, nice pool and sundeck and fantastic concierge. All of this more than made up for the bad first impressions
