Im proud of our soldiers. However if the wind blows or it snows or rains the base will close. Hard for me to understand. How does a military installation close? Unbelievable!!!
The powers that be must understand that things happen, we need to be better prepared. Closing is unacceptable!!!!

Fort carson is very unprofessional and doesnt care...

Fort carson is very unprofessional and doesnt care about soldiers who have spouses with disabilities. There is constant miscommunication between battalion and company officials. They have set military laws that provide soldiers their rights, and fort carson refuses to follow those guidelines. They cause constant turmoil and refuse to help their soldiers who are in critical need. They show favoritism toward certain soldiers and dismiss the care of others. Even in emergencies they refuse to care. My husband provided a drs note in regards to my condition and how the severity of the condition needs attention and though certain srgts understand the situation, others of higher ranking do not. The need for a soldier to tend to his family is part of GI rights, when all guidelines are met there is no excuse for the army to forget their duties in abiding those guidelines and laws. Fort carson is showing corruption, and needs not to justify their actions of hurting one soldier based on soldiers who previously displayed deceit toward their highers. Fort carson needs to care about their soldiers rather than bend the rules and make their own out of selfishness rather than what is best for a soldier and his family. If their behavior continues I hope someone beyond Fort carson with an even higher position will step in and address the corruption they are displaying.

Colorado Springs is lovely, I am from Denver so being stationed only an hour from home is great. However now for I hate the army rant... You'll go to the field here more than anywhere else in your career, all carson ever does is deploy and go to the field every damn week. Leadership is very toxic and incompetent. Don't be one of those people who just stays on base all the time, when you have time however little amount you have go off base and see the beauty that Colorado has to offer.

Love this base and it s amenities. My only issue I ve come across dozens of Soldiers that just look like a soup sandwich. I truly feel like their standards here are very low on the wear and appearance of the uniform... but hey I m no longer active duty.

I did nothing but ask to turn around because I was lost. They refused and held me at the gate for over 3 hours in -15 degrees while they searched my car. My knees were purple i couldn't feel my feet. Horrible place.

Finance needs an internal investigation done to figure out why they can t even help their soldiers. It s been 2 years and they still have not fixed my husbands pay. I call daily and usually Iam disconnected or I just get hung up on. Pathetic. This duty station treats their soldiers like garbage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. When DFAS is horrified by their inability to take care of their soldiers you know there is an issue.

Currently leadership is trying to bate men to re enlist by saying they can leave deployment to see their child be born... but only for 21 days... and it still comes out of their leave...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS there is a reason they call this base a career ender

During my seven year stay at this awesome post ( three of which I served as Mayor of Pawnee Village). I met some incredible people. Garrison Command and Army Community Services were/are some of the best agencies I have ever dealt with both military and civilian. I have nothing but the highest praise for this post and its' soldiers as well as its' agencies.
Best Regards,

My daughter was trying to get on base. The MP did a random check of her license, insurance and registration. They said that my daughter did not have active insurance, which was not true. I when down to base, showed them proof of insurance and and they talked to my insurance company, who told them we had insurance. They towed the car anyway and now we have to pay to get it out of the tow yard. They took my daughters DL and gave us a ticket, all after we showed proof of insurance. MPO Lucus Stocker was extremely rude and did not want to admit that he was wrong. Sergent Colon (his boss) was more helpful, but still did nothing. I am a public servant (teacher) in this community. We have had insurance through Allstate for 11 years. I am heartbroken and appalled that is happened, beware of the MP at ft. Carson, they are corrupt.

I was stationed here shortly after the Peace Accord starting our withdrawal from Vietnam. Not certain what units are here now but the 4th Engineer Battalion was one of the experiences that helped me in the future with design and structures not only bridges but the ability to design structures that will stand the test of time until some idiot tears it down.
