This is a pleasant enough hotel in a charming town and region, but it has a lot of problems with service. The rooms are quite comfortable and I have no complaint on that front. But if you want to have a drink in the restaurant or out back, or if you plan to eat a meal here (other than breakfast which is buffet style and good), be prepared to be ignored, forgotten, or to have your order confused. And if you point out errors or that you have been ignored, well, don't look for sympathy. I cannot recommend this place despite its evident potential and I would not stay there again.

Old style European hotel and the rooms are huge. I had a poor experience with the shower where no hot water. Nice and delicious breakfast served on the ground floor with nice view of the streets. There is a nice garden behind the hotel and seems like there is a morning market just in front on the hotel (one a week).

Mixed feelings, keeping oysters in "brine water" makes for super letdown. Fortunately, wild and swindlers were ok. Aperitif, wine from starter and those from the main dish put on the table together a laugh. Substitute shame.

The rooms were fashionable. Certainly not luxury rooms. In luxury rooms you do not have showers with a step of 35 cm. Well cleaned daily.
The service was mediocre. Some short and haughty. For example, we were not allowed to eat in the beautiful garden because we had half board. The garden was only for the people who ate ala carte.
The food was below average the first night. After a small comment, the boss expressed her displeasure with the comment; that for the price: half board we couldn't get a "lobster". While we only want honest, tasty cuisine. The day after it was already better.
Final conclusion: perhaps faded glory. This is actually a normal hotel, with a normal kitchen. And if you want good food, you have to eat ala carte. Local people will get their money's worth for that.

Pleasant overnight stay with nice breakfast. Super friendly service.
Yesterday we had lunch in the hotel's Oranjerie bistro with the best prime rib of all time: perfectly cooked (bleu chaud). A Simmental who at the same time had a crack in the bite and yet was butter tender. Congratulations to the kitchen chef for meat selection and preparation.
For enthusiasts: they have a (limited) supply of Westvleteren that is perfect to drink ...

The orangery of Hotel Geerts offers, as a fixed value in Westerlo, an extensive menu with traditional and fusion dishes, always on taste. Friendly staff. In the summer you can fully enjoy the beautiful garden. Tip: steak tartare made in a minute

After 40 years customer in this hotel still as good. The garden is beautiful, the food tasty. The service is OK but could be more friendly. Attitude of staff is not always OK. Flexibility and a slightly innovative modern "swing" would be welcome.

Very tasty 100% okay
Only had to wait 50 min to take our food, and still have to ask for it myself (had already done a table with food coming in behind us) ... too bad but I'll definitely be back

Customer friendliness very bad!

Customer friendliness very bad!
We had to wait 2 hours for our food while it was not busy and we sat at the table with 2 diabetes patients who had already put their insulin.

Not recommended!! For this price you can eat much better elsewhere.

(Btw there was even a fishy smell )
