I ve been living in Lima for a while now, and when friends or family come to visit I have always recommended El Pardo - until the most recent visit it has been a good recommendation. In booking in advance for the most recent stay, the guests were made to pay an 18% tax on the stay that was clearly stated to be only for permanent residents or people staying in the country more than 60 days. In trying to ameliorate this issue in advance, we were assured that this charge would be waived upon check-in at the hotel. Once my guests had arrived, they brought up the 18% tax that they had been promised would be refunded at check-in, but were told it needed to be discussed with a manager who was off duty. The following day, we followed up with said manager - he was not helpful and in fact quite condescending - we pulled up the website that specifically stated the tax was only meant for people staying in Peru for more than 60 days, or permanent residents of the country - no budge. Ultimately, we decided to discuss the issue with Hilton HQ in the US, but the experience left a very bad taste in the mouth - especially for a hotel that insists that if there are any issues, they will make it right. After this experience, I d warn visitors to Lima not to stay here - there are plenty of excellent hotels in Lima and in Miraflores specifically who won t put you through this during your stay - choose them instead.

Staff is all very friendly, helpful and responsive.

A full service, independent and large fitness center with classes and two floors of equipment is free for hotel guests. The breakfast buffet is bountiful featuring The usual fare plus some fruits found only in Peru - yum.

Silvana, one of the concierges is a standout. Perfect English and arranges everything effectively. (She really knows how to make things happen)

Location is ideal near JFK Park with numerous shops and restaurants. In the immediate area, a highly rated local chef's restaurant, Panchita - with nicely prepared Peruvian fare in a comfortable atmosphere; and Matsuei, a superb high-end Japanese restaurant and sushi bar.

Great location especially also for tourism. The airport express bus stops at this property making it the easiest option to and from the airport. Great friendly staff and rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant options and quality are good with a great breakfast spread. The gym belongs to an external company but hotel guests have access to it.

Stayed there for a month straight. Friendly staff, solid breakfast buffet spread, good sized rooms...especially on the newer portion (room numbers in mid teens to twenties). Not 5 star because room service food is terrible...lima as a city has such great food, it is a shame that the room service food here is so disappointing.

Cozy.

My mom works in that hotel, I'm very happy about it and it's very nice, although they have taken away some things, for example the nursery, the weight room is in another place but I love it, it's very nice, although it costs a little, it's worth going to .
