The location is Zental in Oldenburg.
Local and even a net market very close by.
Very spacious rooms, small bottle of water for free and coffee machine in the room.
Breakfast was good, unfortunately only from 7am.
Now for the negative features:
I was assigned a room at the end of the hall on the fourth floor.
As a result, there were constant breaks in the wifi. The temperature of the room in July felt like a sauna. Opening the terrace door does not help, as the sun shines on it in the afternoon and the terrace really heats up.
Worst of all, however, the bathroom, very small and the toilet is between the shower cubicle and the radiator so that you have to squeeze in.
Unfortunately, the curtains only darken a little, which is a no go for me.
Will not book this hotel again.

We had a great, spacious room and a super large bathroom. Unfortunately it was not 100% clean, but it was okay.
The staff is super friendly and the breakfast a dream! The restaurant looks super classy, you just feel very comfortable there. The filter coffee was extremely good, you rarely have!

We went here for breakfast but expected a different selection. The offer corresponds to a normal hotel breakfast, but without fresh egg dishes or fresh waffles. With the high standards of the house, we expected more.

Hotel is in center of the town, on pedestrian area and don't have own parking. If you are with the Car, public garage is nearby. Rooms are funtional (very nice warderobe), but vi e from rooms is poor - you will share terace with few other rooms (no restriction in access). Breakfast is pure German one, very rich. Service on desk is very helpfull and know one. Good choice for short sata in town .

Due to the location in the city, it was very noisy at night and into the early morning. Noise insulation despite closed windows. Sleeping would be out of the question with the window open. No air conditioning.

Nice newly renovated four star hotel. We stayed in a "Loft L". Size of the room and bathroom adequate. Hotel consists of a main house and a boarding house. The boarding house is at night only accessible via a closed lane, so it is therefore quiet. Other guests in the main building complained about the volume.

The rest can be put into the bin, especially the CCH at the Weser-Ems-Halle. Here you are always friendly, always take an apartment in the hallway inside and can recommend it to anyone. The rooms are always very clean, they take care of you as if you are the king of Oldenburg. The breakfast is just great and where you sit you have a great view and a huge selection. The rooms are extremely good! No matter how many hotels I've stayed in, this is more than comfortable. Parking is a little stupid, because unfortunately there is the parking garage Waffenplatz and I advise everyone clearly thinking people from driving into it. This car park belongs closed and the operators punished, to take money for it is a joke. Thank God you do not have to park there.

Breakfast (included with my room) was definitely restaurant quality, with delicious meats (roast beef, smoked salmon BOTH with accompanying sauces) and a muesli bar for vegetarians.

A few negatives: those horrible all-in-one soap/shampoo dispensers in shower, too-soft bed, very small lobby with difficult elevator access, tall people could have problems (low ceiling areas, beds with headboards and footboards), parking is in a very popular public lot that on weekends can have long lines to enter, desk clerk literally stunned speechless that the two men who reserved a kingsized bed for the two of them actually WANT a kingsized bed for the two of them.

Stayed in a double room for several nights as part of a wedding. Central location perfect for Oldenburg. Still nice and quiet. We had a very large, spacious room with a covered balcony. There are also rooms without a covered balcony.
No parking garage of its own, but one in the immediate vicinity with special conditions.
Breakfast is very good. Optimal selection at the buffet and the space made very nicely.
The hotel has a small lounge where drinks are self-service.

The rooms to the rear in the inner courtyard naturally absorb the nocturnal noise of the city center, which is amplified by the large, smooth surfaces of the houses.

Rooms are very tastefully decorated, windows are unfortunately dirty. Could be at the construction site right outside the front door .... after all, there was free ear protection and a 5 voucher for the adjoining restaurant.

Very tough cancellation policy. I booked through booking.com and realized two days later, on the day of my planned arrival (yes, my boneheaded move) that I'd booked in the wrong town. Called to cancel and the hotel said they couldn't cancel because I booked through booking.com and would have to refer to them. The hotel said they could cancel it if I had booked directly with them. Booking.com called the hotel on my behalf to try and cancel and the hotel told them that cancelling after check-in time was too late. This was an honest, if stupid, mistake on my part and I have a hard time understanding why the hotel couldn't cut me a little slack, especially after they told me that if I had booked with them directly, cancellation would have been no problem. So just beware of this policy.

Very, very nice hotel, great wellness and sports area. Room clean and can only be recommended. Unfortunately for us the breakfast was too expensive for 17 pp, which is definitely great but a bit over the top.

We stayed in the Altera Suite for two nights for our wedding and were blown away!
The check-in was friendly and completely unbureaucratic. Our suite was stylishly furnished, exemplary clean and decorated with a nice attention to our marriage and a greeting from the house. After the obligatory stress before the wedding, we could finally enjoy a relaxing and regenerative night in our super comfortable XXL bed.
The next morning we got an individual breakfast in our suite at no extra charge. This was opulent, fresh and tasty. After our breakfast we were able to take a bath in the suite's own bathtub - side by side, as the oversized bathtub offered enough space.
Because of the extremely positive overall impression, we spontaneously decided to extend our stay by one night. Completely uncomplicated and reduced by 20 EUR, our request was met. Room service is meticulously clean and thorough. The reception staff is friendly, professional and, above all, attentive. Example: Immediately after we called to extend our stay, the concierge politely asked what time we would like room service.
The hotel itself is not only close to the city, but in the middle of the city. Well insulated, it offers complete noise protection from the hustle and bustle of Oldenburg. The independent parking garage is within sight and inexpensive. We only had to pay 5 EUR per 24 hours.

We would like to strongly recommend the ALTERA and will definitely stay there again.

The ALTERA was the icing on the cake on our special weekend; thank you for having us!

We stayed for 2 nights at Altera Hotel. Contrary to all reviews our experiences were rather bad than outstanding. On arrival we were not asked how we arrived or where we parked. The rooms were not clean, the bathroom was not cleaned. The used soap of the previous tenant was in the Duche, the heating was dirty. The room is worn and provisionally painted over. The next day (weekend) we wanted to get our car out of the parking garage and found that the car park is closed on weekends. No hint from the hotel, no on-the-spot help. Only after demand on our part in a unfriendly tone a parking ticket was handed out, which we should use. The security service of the parking garage costs the way 25 . On the departure was not asked if we were satisfied or anything, the excellent service of a four star hotel. A big mistake is that this hotel is in the Michelin Guide. 4 stars do not meet the standards of the Michelin Guide nor the German standards. The staff is apparently only temporary staff and the hotel has no idea.

Very good location, but parking in the parking garage costs 8 euros per day. The offer to drive in and out several times with a hotel card no longer exists. Staff very friendly. At first we got a room without a balcony, the change was no problem at all. However, the room was not very clean. It was sometimes very dusty and there were still chips left on the floor. The balcony wasn't really a balcony either. A 45 cm high step led to a platform that was located above the passage. There was 1 chair on the entire surface. Access was possible from 4 rooms.
Breakfast was good the first morning. On the 2nd morning things were left out, there was no question about the type of breakfast ice cream and the coffee wasn't really hot either. A visit to the city center of Oldenburg is highly recommended.
