Was ok in itself but not necessarily something for young people

A really nice hotel where you are welcomed by the owner himself!

Amaizing. It was nice staying there. Comfortable rooms.

Brunch was okay and there are reasonable seating options. No lack of space. In the heat, it is unbearably hot in the guest room. Very friendly waitresses.

The location is excellent, close to the main train station.
The rooms look ok off (just a bit old-fashioned), but the small bathroom and especially the shower is a disaster.

Single rooms are actually very small, but still comfortable. Little space to put in the bathroom and the hair dryer is really old (tube with very hot air).
If the budget is enough for a double room, I would rather recommend it.
But everything is very clean! Breakfast is delicious, plentiful and a lot of choice. Super nice staff.

Mediocre. The hotel is getting old and has the charm of the early 90s. Does not feel contemporary anymore. But at least everything was clean.

I wondered what such a nice old-style hotel was doing in this neighbourhood! It s a fabulous place with single rooms which are difficult to find in the more modern hotels. Clean, extremely friendly, and quiet rooms to the back.

Hotel is getting old. Location not so perfect. Enough for one night. Breakfast is rich.

An economical option in the center of Hamburg, close to the main train station. Single rooms quite small, but room service at a high level. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere.

Staff are very friendly, the restaurant is instagramable, excellent breakfast, great internet, but since it is located at downtown, i wouldn't recommend for those whose like a quiet place. Price wise a bit expensive for its minimalist room, but hey the wall is cemented bricks with wooden ornament makes it has a vintage look and cozy, compared with those 4 stars hotels which has hardboard wall that makes me hear 'strange' noises. Otherwise than small room, it is a nice place to stay overnight.

We are for 4 days in the old guard. We like it well. The room is located to the courtyard on the 3rd floor. The beds are comfortable in the bathroom there are toilet things. A mini bar is also available. The breakfast More

If you book at short notice, it can be quite expensive. The last renovated to the street rooms are great. The breakfast was tidy.

The location diagonally opposite the central station and ZOB is very convenient and there are many competent people in the service.

The hotel is located in a strategic position very close to the central station. My single room was compact but not too much. The view of the inner garden is not great but provides plenty of natural light. The decor is simple but older, in fact there is only one outlet, in addition to that of the bath. The bathroom is nice, I remade recently, comfortable shower and a large mirror that takes up an entire wall. There is also a fixed hairdryer. The room is finally equipped with a TV, a small safe, minibar, and Wi-Fi is fine. Just I arrived I was made to pay immediately for the entire stay, but otherwise the reception are very friendly, and are present 24 hours a day. Breakfast is ok, maybe not worth 8 since around is full of places to eat. Small anecdote about housekeeping, one morning about eleven I was studying in the room, the lady knocked and entered, I said in English that soon I would be released, and in response I think I have been yelled at in German that I had to put out the "do not disturb"! I had a good laugh. A comment on the cost, 100 a night is not cheap but the location of the property certainly has its weight, the room I think is average for a three star. Perhaps by public transport there, one could take the ticket for tourists to 10 / day and find a cheaper accommodation in less central location.

Good hotel only the rooms on the ground floor are a bit noisy due to the underground the packed lunch is frankly a bad joke !! Otherwise friendly and clean!

Pleasant distance to the nearby central station. Reception is open 24h. Room and (in particular) bed quite small, for a stay of two days but adequate.

I was there with my wife over New Year's Eve 2015/2016. It was a nice hotel with a very friendly and experienced staff. The breakfast was very rich and the room totally clean!

Very good location near Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, therefore centrally located. Rooms are a bit small, but somehow corresponds to price and location. Rooms are in my opinion in an older GDR style, so you have to like. Really negative, I have to chalk, however, that (at least my room) the rooms smell very musty and that disappears only sparsely, if you air.

Great hotel for a city break. Very friendly and clean. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Even late comers get a nightcap at the bar.

I have actually been satisfied with the hotel so far. Nothing special but ok.
But when I was charged 8.50 for a tea to go (0.5l), I found that very bold. I know many hotels in Germany and all of them offer this as a service. And the packed lunch, if you don't have time to have breakfast, leaves a lot to be desired in contrast to the competition.

Home-style food served with charming service. You feel like you are back in the good old days. Tip: a whole Martin goose. Delicious prepared by Ms. K. A must once a year!

Very cozy atmosphere, which lives up to its name. Especially attentive service, also by the trainees. Nice set table. Despite the large company, the food for all was applied almost at the same time and was hot. All attention! It was very delicious and well presented. There was also a separate dessert menu. The lime sorbet was not only delicious and refreshing, but also an absolute eye-catcher.

We wanted to provide the hotel Bibeln for free, we were glad, that in the hotel bibles are in the rooms

Typical city hotel, however, the rooms are quite small and the mattresses, at least mine, getting old. Breakfast is quite good and the bread rolls give the impression to be baked.
Otherwise, there is a very rich selection of sausage and cheese, quark, yogurt, fruit, salads and hot dishes.
The environment of the hotel is more than getting used to. For a short business trip ok, for a longer stay, especially with children, you should choose another house.

Always a great restaurant and very courteous service.
