Host were recommended by a friend and l can honestly say l had 8 years good service.

I used Host property ltd for my new build apartment in Purfleet, after my previous letting agent (of 3 years) left me with a non paying bad tenant and expensive repairs to my flat plus the added hassle of court costs to evict them.

I was based in the North of England so wanted a reliable letting agent in the Essex area, l was struggling as the houseing market had crashed (2008) and my apartment was in a mess, the owners viewed my property and arranged for a team to clear the mess, repair and decorate the flat.

Host found me decent long term tenants and l was able to be hands off again slowly recovering my money spent as their advice and knowledge in property lettings was invaluable keeping me informed of any problems or changes to the current law a long distant landlord needed to know.

I can only review on my experience of this company which was from my point of view 'excellent' from the helpfull office girls to the professional owners sorting out my nightmare - Thanks Mark - would and have recommended you to others.

We were looking to rent a property and found the perfect place through Host.
Their service from the start was honest, real and professional. Mark and his team are both really friendly and very efficient. Due to covid and only being able to quickly view the property, there were a few things needing doing on the property when we had moved in but once again Mark and his team ensured things were dealt with as soon as they could be done and to a professional standard.

We highly recommend Host Property and are very happy in our home.

Having used Host Property in the past I would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking to rent property in the Southend area.

I had no problems with my room and any issues I did have with heating etc were dealt with pretty much immediately.

Mark was always on the ball and dealt with my move professionally and promptly.

A huge thank you to Mark and the whole team at Host property Westcliff, they made an incredibly stressful time so smooth and easy and were able to do this through the difficult circumstances of covid restrictions, responsive to my emails and questions they really went the extra mile!
Feel like I am in very safe hands with the Host team.

Avoid! Worst estate agent, if they can call themselves this, that I have ever encountered. Let themselves into the property without warning. When challenged hung up the phone and refused to answer. Took months of phoning every single day to fix anything. Incredibly unprofessional. Don't put yourself through it!

I have only just recently became aware of this company, which have just taken over the management of my rented dwelling, I have asked on 3 occasions for an explanation as to why my deposit wasn t placed in a protection scheme, however they simply reply with a one line letter
Asking to meet me, or for me to call them? why would I call them? I never appointed them and I have no agreement with them whatsoever, they are not prepared to put anything in writing it would seem, the letters are never signed by a named member of staff for this company it simply says Host, judging by the appalling reviews I've read no surprise there.

If they wish to meet with me for whatever reason, then they firstly need to reply to my original letter, and offer a contact of whom is dealing with this matter or do whatever they feel is necessary !!

Did not get as far as renting as the reception I got when I walked through the door was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Basic manners were lacking, absolutely unprofessional.
Cannot actually believe that their business survives. I offered feed back as i would very much like to know if I could improve my business especially if I was failing at the basics , the reaction I received made me realise that the best thing to do was leave.
Why would you rent with a company that cannot be bothered to acknowledge your presence in their shop. ???

My daughter rents through host whilst attending Southend university to study nursing. we visit the property every few months and other than the regular student mess, the property is very nice! We have found host to be friendly and helpful with rent payments, things going wrong in the property, and any questions my daughter has had. we have always paid her rent on time and have had no hassle.

Absolutely atrocious service and behaviour. As a student searching for a house for second year with a group of friends, I was appalled by this company's lack of professionalism and hideous behaviour. One of my friends had been in contact with one of their agents for several weeks. They had difficulty getting a response from the agent about the two houses that we were interested in. It was only recently that we found out, that those two places we had been sold to other people, without our knowledge. It was a total lack of communication from their part. I am disgusted how a business like this one can remain in business when their service and care is horrendous and dreadful. Word of advice to students looking for a house, do not use this company.

I contacted Host about two student lets in January, despite the two hour response time they promise, it actually took days, so I rang them, was told I needed to see pictures, and they would send me an email. I wait a few more days. No email. I have been ringing, emailing and leaving voicemails every day for several weeks and got absolutely nowhere, and it was in fact somebody else that told me there was no properties, not the company I have been trying to get in contact with for weeks!!! Awful customer service, disorganised, no communication. Nothing. They have spent so long messing myself and my friends that we do not have a house for next year.
