Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino and Hotel Review

Due to the fact that I live in louisville Kentucky. The commute is extremely easy to drive. But you need to be careful driving to and from the resort. It's a very dangerous road to drive on at night, it's not very well lit! Also, due to people leaving the resort after a long night of drinking and gambling. Other than that, the food is great, the dealers a more top notch and they always have something fun going on. The management staff that act on a professional level at all times.

Adult swim was a disappointment for my four year old who rode 3 hours to swim!!!

Great place overall. I have been to casinos all across America and this is one of my new favorites. The casino comprises four levels of gaming on seperate decks. The boat itself is beautiful and breathtaking with glittering chandeliers, carved wood, and amazingly classy decor. Sadly the boat with not be used when construction of the new casino is done (which is exciting as it will offer more games and events than what was previously offered.) The staff are very friendly and helpful as well as very professional. The food was great if a bit pricey. The casino itself offers many different games. They have all the classics plus brand new games. I had a fun time playing and walked out winning a little more than I came with. As an avid gambler and casino lounge lizard I would definitely recommend anyone traveling to check it out. There is also a nice hotel and even programs and games for the kids. If you are planning a casino vacation destination you definitely need to check out this wonderful establishment. (I recommend planning soon so you can experience the casino boat experience before its gone)

Very fun get away always a blast plenty of great places to eat exercise 4 floors to play on and they offer free hotel stays after you play

The room was dirty. The sheets were thrown on the beds very impressive. The bed was like laying on plywood with a sheet over it - no comfort.

Had a wonderful time, we went for my company Christmas party. Staff was friendly with.

Room was clean and spacious. The casino is far far away! It's all connected but it's a hike. Parking is also a nightmare.

Had a great time. So much fun!! Just had no idea there were so few areas that are smoke free!! Sinuses!! I am paying for it now!!

Enjoyed the buffet and the non-smoking deck. Just wish I would have left with more money.

I absolutely love the casino. They have a very friendly staff, bar tenders do a great job. The decor and layout is awesome. The hotel staff is just as helpful. The room was great!

Always a fun place, the night club is amazing and the dealers are awesome.

Some food was good and some was really not good. 2 dishes sent back

Nice casino and a great atmosphere. Hotel is nice to stay in has a pool and hot tub for when you are not in the casino.

Fabulous place. Exceptional room rates! We had business in town & stayed here for the room accoutrements, low rates, shopping and restaurants. Worth the 30 minutes of coming & going to New Albany for all it provides.

New one floor with all gaming and Sports Book easily accessible

There will be some players that will fully understand what I mean if they frequent many casinos and have been doing so for a while. For lack of a better word, this casino was just depressed! I don't base my experience on wins or losses as that is unpredictable. What I do base things on are the upkeep and cleanliness of my surroundings, quality of food and drinks if I have some and most of all attitude and friendliness of staff and how well they attempt to acommodate their players. Even in high limit, I would rank this place about one of the worst I have been to in over 20+ years. I walked in, in a pretty good mood and walked off very depressed. Lol... No energy there. Employees that seem to just go through the motions and seem as though they don't care for their jobs very much. It was pretty slow as well during a time of day I would have expected them to be way busier! So likely folks more local to the area go somewhere else and only the diehards go there. I was just passing through but next time i will just pass this place by as there are about 3 or 4 other options I have that are within the same distance for me. If you go there, plan on hitting McDonald's afterwards for a happy meal, because you will definitely need it... and a shower. I came out smelling like an ashtray. Lol.... could not recommend as I personally would never go back. Sorry folks.

Slots are way to tight. Spend almost 200 with no bouns in less then 30 mins.

Room was nice. Bed were OK. The Spread buffet was pretty good, as was Smoke & Rye. It's was also nice that the bottom floor of the casino was smoke free.

Need to have more animated slots with progressives. Played the "Big Bang Theory" slot and enjoyed that. Need more like it.

I think if your a slots player its pretty good. I can just talk about the casino and the food in the casino area. I never went to the hotel. I think they serve very nice food. Most of there table games look like they have been played to death. They were wore out so go to the 3rd level because everyone plays on the 2nd level where you first come in. The hours that I played had min bets of $5 during the day. I like the poker room but they dont allow smoking in there. If your just a gambler its great but if your looking for a party I would try another place. Most are grandparents playing slots.

The food was so salty at The Diamond Diner that my husband couldn't eat and it made me sick. Everybody was complaining about it but the woman working didn't seem to care. She said it was because of the ham, but the greens, beans and ham was all over salted. Does anybody ever win at this place?!? What a waste of money.

Overall had a good time. All staff were really nice. Pool area clean, nice to relax there and use hot tub. The only downfall is the distance from hotel to casino. You really have to be in good shape. It's easily 1/2 mile to a mile.

Smoky, but fun. Plenty of table games. Drinks are not complimentary, but aren't too expensive.

Didn't stay at the hotel, just went to the buffet and casino.

We come down once a year with a bunch of my husbands friends for a get together. We will either drive back home or we will stay in RV on premises. This year I decided to get a room. First room they put us in had a water leak and the carpet was wet. The second room they put us in had a small odor but I thought well it good be the heat when its first turned on. The bathroom counter top had toothpaste on it and dust/dirt. Honestly when we checked out I let the desk know about the second room, they said they were sorry and would let housekeeping know. I felt like they should have discounted the room they did not offer. In the future unless they clean up the room I think I will stay elsewhere. The Aroma was a good place to eat. The casino was nice and crowded of course. We had to go to bar to get drinks because we did not see a hostess come around. The bartenders acted like they didn't want to be there.

Want to have a good time or a night away this is the place to be

Stopped by to gamble and eat. Very clean place but I think we hit the buffet at a bad time, good service but the food was a bit off. Make sure to go right at lunch/dinner time.

It was not what I expected it to be. It had just opened. The staff was not near as friendly as the staff had been at Cherokee. It also seemed so much more smaller. I will not visit again.

First and last time at this casino,I won money but this is by far the dirtiest,smoky and stinky place I have ever been to.. Harrah's should be ashamed by this property..

My room was great- they gave me a suite, the steak house had great food and I enjoyed the walk between the hotel and casino. Thay have a suttle, but I needed the exercise.

Had fun employees are very nice this was my first time there and I will come back.

Super bright light aiming right at my window so if you were to stay facing the casino don't go to your window in the middle of the night as you will indeed be blinded lol.

On the bright side, the room offers super thick curtains that completely block it out, and if you chose to leave it open it makes a super cool design on the celling.

Other than that pretty cool experience, they also have really cool tampons in the hotel store!

Well, let's start by service.....I know theres a light for a cocktail to come, but i think actual walking the floor and interacting with customers is a plus, we got our own beers, so the bartenders got the tips, and your place was very dirty, chairs were ripped uncomfortable, never seen one cocktail on the floor or slot rep, customer service is important to me as I am a cocktail server and I like to interact with people, not alot of payouts that I seen or did I get, the walk alone to the casino seems like a mile, lots of reasons I don't go there, dont like to be negative but not really anything positive to say

We went over to Horseshoe to meet up with my Grandmother and other family members for lunch and a birthday celebration. She comes up several times a year, and we always have a good time. The service at the buffet was nice, and the food was pretty good. We had originally wanted to go to Binions, but had two littles with us, so we couldn't. That being said, everything was clean, and we had a nice table on the "patio" area. We were all a little disappointed in the dessert offerings, most of the ones we tried were either dry or just didn't taste quite right, but that is a minor nuisance.

Great hotel/casino. I don't know why people are complaining about the walk to the casino when it is indoors and they have moving sidewalks or even golf cart rides if you are fat and lazy...

Heck rent a scooter there if you're going to complain and be one of those guys, instead of leaving a one star review because of a very short walk. This is America, unfortunately it's accepted now to be fat and ride scooters around, don't complain.

Stopped here for a night on our way to Nashville for a birthday getaway, and if I'm in the area again I'll be staying here over other hotels. The king room was very clean, spacious, and luxiourious. Comparable to a treasure island type on the Vegas strip. For the price it can't be beat.

Great food at Jack Minions, Arome, and and new restaurants ,New open acasino isnd parking is better, slots are still tight unless you play big.

Haven't been here in a few years, but the last time we came, you could call security and ask them to send someone out to the truck parking lot to give you a ride. Apparently they have stopped doing that, so if you be are a truck driver...BE PREPARED FOR A LONG WALK!! It's a shame, because they have such a nice, well lit, paved lot for trucks too. But having to walk 15 minutes just to get to the casino floor is ridiculous

I arrived at Horseshoe between 4pm & 5pm. Construction prevented my normal parking and I got turned around in my way out. However Services and Experiences were not negatively impacted once into the casino.

*** THE MUSIC*** IS LOUD. LOUD. LOUD. ITS THE LOUDEST CASINO I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I'M SHOUTING BECAUSE I CANT HEAR ANYMORE. ***I DID NOT SEE ANY JACKPOTS***

Jaccuzi suite was nice and romantic. Tub was not LARGE but worked. Bed was soft and whole atmosphere was nice.

This is a River Boat Casino, we had fun. The hotel was awesome. The Casino floor felt a little sketchy to me. But it's worth going to say you've been. It's out in the middle of no where.
