We went July 4 weekend and the line was onto the street and at the hotel they said the wait would be an 1 1/2 hours, but we were on the boat in 15 min. It was so much fun. Really interactive with the falls.

It's a common attraction and much in demand but I think it's worth it at least once. It costs around 25 dollars and only lasts about 25 minutes. They give you a simple raincoat and you get on a boat that takes you as close as possible to the fall of the waterfall, which is a fascinating experience, because you can feel the strength of the waterfalls and the breeze very close to you. You will end up soaked and revitalizing! If you like this feeling, try to go as close as possible to the front of the boat and if you can, bring a waterproof camera, the photos are great from there. I recommend waiting for the last boarding hours so you do not find a long line.

A must do event. The crew and land staff are very professional and efficient. The process to get on the boat and off goes very quickly. When you get there it looks like there is a line but it moves so fast it is barely a factor. You will get wet but honestly it is awesome. When I go back I m going to bring a pair of tinted goggles so I can see in the heart of the mist (80m) from the falls. Bucket list item.

It's best not to spend too long on the earliest tours.
If you want to make pictures is a cover for the cell phone duty, otherwise water damage is inevitable.

The experience was AMAZING!

So much fun going up to the horseshoe falls even though I got absolutely drenched! My socks are still wet! The ponchos were awesome (red suits me)! Even though a short ride it was so much fun!

Getting the official photos is very expensive. I d recommend just finding a nice place and getting one of your own rather than using a green screen.

If you get the opportunity to do this, definitely do! Make sure you take an extra pair of socks though, soggy feet isn t fun.

Wanted to check off something off my bucket list. Had to figure out how this worked and did some internet search. Finally found out that Hornblower was on the Canadian side we found the place where we can get out tickets. Parking is a little difficult as there isn't a lot right where you can buy your ticket and get on the boat. We parked downtown by the ferries wheel and walked down. It cost 10 dollars for the whole day which was pretty cheap. Anyways we got our tickets and headed down. Once you get by the boat you are given a poncho and is definitely needed. The boat goes to both of the falls and you will get wet so wear your poncho. If you stay on the bottom of the boat you will have more protection from the water. Definitely a great spot to stand. Overall the experience was amazing and worth the $18 Canadian dollar. You don't want to miss this ride and just make sure you protect your phones.

It is worth getting on the boat with the raincoat poncho and feeling the noise and the water and the wind generated by the falls and contemplating them. It is a beautiful and unique experience.

4 stars only because they didnt have a sign that said buy tickets before you hop in the long line. We bought online but noticed alot of people didnt know that. The line was really long but moved fast. Took about 1.5hrs to get the whole thing done and out.

Loved it! Great experience and it was a lot of fun to be that close to the Falls. The only downside is just dealing with other pushy tourists. Gets to be too crowded, but what can you do because we are all there to see the beautiful Falls.

Great trip to see both the US and Canada falls. Very up close view and we would've been drenched if not for the parka. Hold on to the rail. It gets a little bumpy and you could drop your phone in a second. Tough to hear the information being broadcast while on the boat so we werent able to learn much about the history of the falls. Still a great trip and worth the money. Do yourself a favor and buy tickets from your phone. The kiosks suck and you skip the line for them. Ticket is sold for all day so no need to book a time unless you're doing a night cruise.

The whole experience starts with a hilariously long walk, designed to hold a large number of people. But the end is worth it. The boat itself is powered by massive diesel engines, and you will find out why. Niagara throws a lot of water, and you will get soaked. But it is very fun. I recommend.

Awesome and exciting way to get up close to the falls! You will get wet so be ready. You may even see a rainbow. The Hornblower Cruises move lots of people through pretty quickly. Adding on the Funicular is great for anyone short on time or unable to walk up and down a loooong pathway.

What an experience.

What an experience.
We got there early in the day and at the end of August.
We had our tickets and were waiting no longer than 19 minutes from the point that we joined the queue at the funicular to the point of getting on the boat. I can imagine during busy periods that this could be awful.
The trip down to the horseshoe falls was awesome. We got completely soaked as the poncho did not quite keep us dry.
If you are in the area definitely do this!

Great cruise at a great price. You are provided with a pancho but you will still need to expect wet feet at the very least. Most people went for the upper decks but of you get to the front of the lower deck it actually turned out to be the best spot. If you manage to get dead center you'll walk of almost dry. Seems better than the U.S. side and stays longer and goes closer.

Really great way of getting close to the Niagara Falls and experiencing the spray and roar of the falls. Only thing I would suggest is having longer arms on the ponchos provided - they were great at keeping me dry, except for my exposed forearms!
Well run, and not too badly priced at $33 for the cruise which runs every 15 minutes during the season.

This was an amazing way to experience the falls. Upon entering the boat we were greeted by friendly employees and given complimentary red ponchos. The boat was very large and clean, we came before prime tourist season so we had a lot of space to walk around while on the boat since there weren't too many people on it. While the boat started moving there was someone who told us what we were looking at over an intercom. We got so close to the falls that it felt like rain was falling down on us. This was such an incredible experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is going to Niagara Falls.

Amazing! You need to do this atleast once. The best way to see the falls up close. Recommendations: wear footwear you can allow to get a little wet; on a sunny day, don't put the poncho on until you're on the boat; bring a water resistant camera /phone for pics. It's worth the price and the wait in line

I booked a Hornblower Niagara cruise in mid-July with a friend who has cerebral palsy.

When we arrived at the last checkpoint before boarding the boat, I could see that the boat was nearly ready to depart, and it was crowded.

Normally, this would not be an issue. However, given that my friend is physically disabled and wheelchair-bound, I knew there would be very little opportunity for him to actually see any part of this tour, given the crowds standing along the boat's perimeter/railings.

Consequently, I asked the Hornblower representative if we could wait a few minutes for the next boat. This would have allowed us to get a spot near the railing so that my friend could enjoy the tour like everyone else.

The employee I spoke with was rude, insensitive, and completely unempathetic. She cited Hornblower's policy of not allowing people to wait for the next boat. This was beyond insensitive, and could have been avoided by making a simple accommodation for someone with a severe disability.

In 2018, it is perhaps even more worrisome that Hornblower did not respond to a follow-up email that I sent in order to discuss this poor experience and perhaps follow up with their own employees and their conduct.

All of this was---and is---an extremely disappointing outcome to what could have been a wonderful experience for a guest who has special needs.

So many more neat new ways to experience Niagara Falls. Hornblower Niagara Cruises has taken the classic get wet while being up close to both the American and Horseshoe Falls up more than a notch!! This year they have added a whole new way to experience the nightly illumination of the falls from the river. There are fireworks cruises on the nights fireworks show happen with a floor to ceiling glass walled section on the lower deck for those who want to stay drier.

Thai is a nice boat ride. I went into the boat to see Niagara Falls up close, which was pretty fun. I walked up to the admissions desk and bought a ticket for the boat ride. I was then given a poncho by the boat company so I wouldn t get wet on the boat. I boarded the boat and stood at the bottom floor. The boat went up really close to the falls, which was fun. I got a great view of the falls and I got very wet, even though I was on the bottom floor. After the boat went up to the falls, it turned around and went back to the dock. I got off of the boat and left, satisfied with my experience. I gave this boat ride five stars because it takes you right up to Niagara Falls, which is nice.

The Hornblower Niagara Cruise costs about $30.00 CDN after taxes are included, for an approximate 30 minute Boat Ride into Niagara Falls. There is no Senior Discount offered by the cruise line. While the ride is interesting, it is grossly overpriced.

I went on this ferry with my wife and son, and it was a ton of fun! The day I went there wasn't even a long line, everything moved super smoothly! We were at the bottom and on the boat within 10 minutes! I purchased our tickets online which I highly recommend everyone does! That way you don't have to wait in line for the tickets and then promptly get in another line to wait for the ferry. You simply go to the ferry line. It was excellent! The ferry has what is called the "Full Mist Experience" which means they navigate right into the middle of the Great Canadian Horseshoe section of the Falls, and you get bombarded with mist! It was a TON of fun!!! You are given free ponchos, and they also have gear you can purchase like rain coats, sandals, etc. It's quite expensive however, and we found the poncho worked just fine for us! Anyway, definitely recommend it!

This was pretty cool to do, and gets you very close to the horseshoe falls of the Niagara Falls, but prepare to get wet despite the (plastic-bag-like) poncho they give you to put over the clothes you are wearing. There was a long line, but don't get off-put by it, because the line will move very fast.

Took my mother in law here when she was visiting from Scotland! The wait times aren't too long, and we really enjoyed getting up close and personal with the Falls. I've recommended everyone I know who's going to visit the Falls to take a nice misty cruise

Horrible Customer Service. DO NOT use themI I took this cruise back in May 2018. After the cruise I bought a snack and drink from the little shop onsite. After swiping my card, they claimed their credit card machine wasn't working so I paid cash. When I got home I see my credit card was in fact charged after paying cash. I've been trying to get them to refund the charge since then and they keep saying it was voided. I sent them a screenshot showing the charge, now they are asking me to send them my ENTIRE bank statement. I am about to file a complaint with BBB Canada. I will never use this place again - so unprofessional!

The one thing to do if you re in Niagara

The one thing to do if you re in Niagara
Worth the visit and the hot price
Be aware of the long queues (especially if it s hot or rainy). On the boat, it gets wet and slippery super fast.
The Canadian falls and my favourites.... much more impressive!
Enjoy

I would say this is a must-see if you have never been to the falls. Good experience. I suggest taking a waterproof camera, GoPro works great. Take clothes that you do not mind will get wet, and ladies, get ready for the hair to be a mess!

A must do Be prepared to get wet even with the free poncho provided. Fantastic views of the falls and just the rush from being so close. Gift shop is limited but prices are fantastic. Beer garden $9 CDN for a beer.

Night trip was Terrible way to experience Niagara falls. They ruin the the entire experience by playing loud obnoxious music the entire time. Night trip had blue and purple lighting on the boat as if it's a night club! As loud and stunning the sound of the falls are you can not hear anything but the terrible loud music on the boat. Apparently our Canadian tourism doesn't have the slightest clue oh how to appreciate natural beauty. Do not recommend it at all. Much better to save your money and just watch the falls for free.

A great way to see the falls up and personal. It's only $20 to get on the cruise and it sure is worth it. The ride is about 15-20 minutes and you will get wet, so put on the rain poncho that they supply you with. Overall the experience is great, it's not as exhilarating then watching it from a far. Everyone that goes to Niagara Falls goes on this cruise, now I know why.

A breath-taking, jaw-dropping experience, allowing you to get up close and personal with the Niagara Falls. I purchased a vacation package of all the Niagara Falls activities and am so glad I did, or I might never have gotten on that boat. Taking a Hornblower Niagara Cruise felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Definitely worth the line-ups to get on the boat, which were surprisingly not too long to begin with.

Niagara Falls was beautiful but just standing above the falls and looking wasn't as exciting as riding down in to the falls. You will get wet! But they give you ponchos. If you're going to the falls, you have to do the boat tour!
