I had my house for almost 20 years. The charter for my neighborhood specified roofs had to be tile. I had Liberty Mutual for the majority of my time. In May 2019 I switched to Geico/Homesite as Geico is whom I have my car insurance with. In June I had a windstorm that cracked some of the trusses in my roof. Homesite declared my roof was built incorrectly and didnt pay anything thus costing me all out of pocket! My advice do NOT use Geico as they are actually using Homesite and Homesite is terrible and unprofessional

Just wanted to say the customer service is wonderful and the one star reviews are not very believable! What an ordeal dealing with these people must be. Look at their other reviews, must be liberals;)

Filed a claim for obvious roof damage after a major hailstorm that left baseball sized holes in our gazebo, located about 10 from our house. Despite having soft spots all over the roof, the inspector claimed no damage warranted reimbursement. As an aside, every roof on our street was replaced except ours. Having complained, Homesite sent a second inspector from the same firm who agreed with his coworker. The final straw was when we received our renewal. The rate doubled!!! We dumped Homesite along with GEICO (auto coverage) and switched to USAA.

Homesite cancelled our insurance because they did not like the look of our roof after buying a house. Naturally, we hired a company to replace the roof as it was not in the best condition. I was told they would reinstate my policy if the problem was remedied and we submitted pictures along with an invoice. I did just that, and they refused to reinstate without a lapse. When confronted they said I had 30 days to submit proper documentation (which was never mentioned from the start), in which I received the invoice in the mail just in time to submit everything on the 30th day. When speaking to someone about this, they had no intention of working with me And spoke with a condescending tone over the phone. When I asked to speak to someone who could help, they said I would have to email customer service.

Terrible customer service. Missed one payment because of some kind of banking error completely out of my control. Was not notified in any way. Received an email with a confirmation number confirming I had made my payment. Then I received a letter out of the blue saying my homeowners insurance has been canceled retroactive for almost two weeks. Called to try to renew my policy and they told me it's impossible and they no longer want me for a customer. Told me that I should have been checking my bank statements to make sure the payment went through, even though I received a confirmation email saying it had gone through. Then the manager got on the line and lectured me about how as an adult I should be carefully confirming all of my payments every month, like he does. Thank god nothing happened to the house during those weeks. Will never do business with homesite again.

It takes an act of god for them to respond to you. I sent the adjuster emails on August 18 and 19 (a week ago) asking for an update. Left him a voicemail yesterday. Left his supervisor a voicemail today. Zero response. Not even the decency to send an email reply to acknowledge he got the message.

I was beyond disappointed with Homesite via Progressive. They decided we needed a new roof and gave us 14 DAYS to get it completed. The agent was out to our new home while the sellers were still living there and we didn't receive communication from Progressive regarding their findings for two weeks. We dropped them in order to fix the roof but now wonder if we should have waited to see what our new insurance company says about our roof before beginning repairs. I have had Progressive auto insurance for 15 years and have been incredibly happy with their service, but partnering with Homesite has made it a difficult decision as to whether I wish to stay with Progressive for our auto policy.

Horrible company the worst ever wait times to ask a question that takes 3 minutes was 40 minutes then I was hung up on. They never get the price right had to fight with them all the time and takes days just to reach someone don't waste your time

Please be aware of this company. Before I purchased my renter's insurance I ask if there is any policy about cancelling or others fees. I was told no. Come to find out that the sales agents don't even know. I had my policy for 9 days and found a better deal with more coverage. I paid 1yr coverage upfront. Come to find out there is a hidden fee for $50 dollars if you can ahead of time if you have not been there a year with them. Everytime I called no one knew of this charge. 3-4 days of escalation I was advised of the charge. Incredible how the sales agents do not know of this fee. Will I lost $50 because they said it was in the contract. I received the contract a week later after my policy started. No way I would have known this. Stay away from them! Terrible service and lack of knowledge.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Its an awful company. I got them because I was with Gieco and bundled the Homesite homeowners with my Gieco auto. Every year my premium went up. I never made a claim. Since my payment was escrowed I didn't realize what was going on right away. in 5 years the premium almost doubled. I canceled them 2 months ago just before the new policy took effect and i still don't have my 1700.00 back. they claim the post office must have lost it. its been 3 weeks since they supposedly re issued a check and still nothing. I guess they are still using the Pony Express to deliver their mail. WARNING DO NOT USE THEM. Shop around you will def get a better rate and
