Homer Movie Theatre Review

Best movie theater in Homer. Also, I feel spoiled after the popcorn here, I hate getting popcorn anywhere else anymore.

I saw the Metropolitan presentation of Cosi Fan Tutte last night. The voices were fabulous.

Great little theater! One theater house, with great service. Always a friendly face. Offers the usual theater specs with some additional stadium style bites. They use real butter for their popcorn with salt, nutritional yeast, and other popcorn toppings. Because of its size, it only refreshes the movies once a week, but will usually show 2 different movies to cater to different preferences (one earlier in the afternoon and one later)...which means you may have to wait a few weeks to watch a newly released film. Otherwise, great spot for a fun evening out!

Awesome experience but i wish the screen was a little larger. They have the BEST popcorn! The variety of topping choices makes up for the screen and you cant go wrong with the comfort of the couch!

Best, and only, theatre in Homer. Good single screen and sound. Some concessions other than popcorn and candy.

What was a very rundown theater some years ago new owners have done a wonderful remodel, seats, sound, new release movies. Very nice plus low ticket prices

For a small town theater they try to do a lot with what they have. Try not to expect frills but very comfortable place with a very friendly crew.

I don't normally go out in the evening alone since I am 85 and walk with a cane but I really wanted to see The Post and I was happy to see the outside lighting in the parking area...made my trip to the movies much easier. Thanks!!!

This is a wonderful hometown movie theater. I wish they played less mainstream blockbuster stuff but they do okay considering they re the only show in town.

The theater is good for watching movies but don't waste your money on the popcorn. It was the worst popcorn I have ever had in a theater.

Not some crazy huge theatre but a perfect place to go. Movies take a while to get her though

The last time I was in this theater was in the summer of 1995. I'm glad that it's still up and running. I loved it back then and I know I'd love it now. Hopefully it will continue to stay open for future families to enjoy.

Homer Family Theater is friendly, community involved, brings in wonderful assorted films and has a documentary film festival that we all anxiously look forward to every year...AND the choices and quality of snacks are great too.

Great little theatre! It may not have the luxurious amenities of the big chains but, the screen is appropriate,the sound is good, the seats are mostly gum free, and the prices are great! I've been a customer of this theatre for 38 years. It's undergone numerous remodels, and changed ownership several times. Pretty sure the couches in the front are still the originals though :).

Seemed everyone knew each other in the theater, good popcorn you add the amount you want. $8.00 for an extra large bucket with free refill. Small theater, 200 seats. Super friendly staff

Wish they had more selections or didn t play same movie for what seems like weeks, that being said nice workers..Brandon is a cutie and super helpful/polite and they seem to do everything to make your night best!

Cozy little theater makes for a fun atmosphere. Feels like the entire audience is sharing the movie experience together. Wish they had more movies and more movie times, but it's a very nice theater for such a small town.

The only movie theatre in Homer. Great spot which has couches in the front row so you can spread out with your friends. Popcorn is cheap and the seats are comfy. Bring your own bowl for a discount on popcorn

The worst popcorn ever had in a theatre comment just makes me laugh because it is the best popcorn I and many people have ever had at a theatre because it isn't covered in fake butter and it's not priced outrageously. Real butter on plane popcorn they shake it you season it with salt yeast spike whatever you want. So if the popcorn tastes bad it's your fault not theirs. The theatre itself is old but new owners keeping it going in our small town of homer do great at upgrading it every few years and try and keep us in the loop with new movies. If you want more than just popcorn be sure to get an ALASKAN reindeer dog.

Good theater and movie selections but No Buttered Popcorn!! Offer lots of "salt-it-yourself" options but No Buttered Popcorn!! That's half the reason one goes out to the movies!!

A nicely appointed little one-screen theater, typically with two showings per day. Seats are comfortable, the picture quality is good, and the people I interacted with were quite friendly. Monday matinees are a special deal, only $7 for a non-3d movie and $9 for 3d, the cheapest tickets I've seen in years. Also, for what it's worth, rather than the usual ads before the trailers, all the ads are for local businesses, which leads to a nice sense of community. I'd recommend it!

Good cozy little place to visit. It only has one room for movies so there cant be multiple like others we see in bigger cities.

When its superbowl time its free to go and watch it live on the big screen, i personaly experienced this myself and it was alot better than having to watch it on a phone or tv at home. Well.. hope this review helped and thanks for reading.

Watched Midway. Wow, great movie. Homer Theater and their real butter on the popcorn really makes it.

The theater is always clean, the sound system is good, and the films always look nice on the screen.

Where else can you get real butter on your popcorn and add your toppings while the staff enthusiastically shake the bag to distribute it for you!

Best theatre around. Can't beat the popcorn. Service with a legitimate smile too.
