The Homer Alaska area with it's port and harbor are a great place too go especially for persons or family's who are going too Alaska for the first time. The harbor it's self is an area were thousands of Salmon are released for the tourists and beginning anglers with several large charter boats right in the harbor for off-shore salmon and halibut trips.
There's also some cool little shops that sell locally made items along with great little sea food restaurants. There's also lots of parking for people who rent R.Vs with awesome views of the near by glaciers and stunning mountain ranges. The whole of the Kenai peninsula is magnificent! The area get windy and the weather can change on the drop of a hat.

Great place to view a bunch of different local fishing boats or hop on a charter and catch some fish of your own

I just returned from my first trip with captain Gabe with Alaska Ocean Pros and I must Say, it was the trip of a lifetime! We went on a long range halibut trip but caught a variety of different fish. Crew was exceptionally helpful. Gear was top notch. And captain Gabe put us on fish every single day! Non-stop action! I will Definitely be booking another trip in the near future!

Awesome. The views are incredible. The ships were great. When I close my eyes I can still see the Eagles floating along the shore line in the sea-breeze, Just beautiful.

Whether you're in a boat or walking the City of Homer Port & Harbor is a great area to relax and view many types of boats.

There are many small boats here and some not so small Charter boats. Sometimes you'll see people fishing from their boats floating near the boat launch. The commercial boats are impressive to watch as they slowly navigate through this area.

There are benches all around the City of Homer Port & Harbor, so bring a lunch and enjoy boat watching.

Just a lovely harbor. We used this harbor to catch a water taxi with our kayaks. Our biggest challenge was there was no carts available to help carry our equipment down to the boats.
