While most complaints so far are about hiring them for contract work, I found their inspection report untrustworthy either. My new home's air ducts have obvious tear and leaks as shown by my HVAC contractors. HomeGuard's report, however, mentioned nothing about the ductwork. As a home buyer, I'd next time take their inspection report with a grain of salt and order one from another company.

I have used HomeGuard for years for my real estate inspections. They are always responsive, dependable, honest, thorough and easy to work with. The inspectors are all very good and experienced and the office support is top notch too. Tania Beltran is always a pleasure to work with as well in the accounting department and takes great care of me and my clients. I highly recommend this company.

Total scam. Realtor Please stop offering this to your buy. They deny every claim and we have to pay $65 for the contractor to com out for 2 minutes and then they report back to homGuard which is denny 99% of the time. I have zero success and 5 claim denied and loads of time wasted on the phone with these scammer!

Responsive customer and billing support. Was able to get a hold of them very quickly and get the inspection going timely. Darlene in billings was helpful and very professional, able to resolve all questions timely and efficiently in order to move the project forward.

Scam!!! Don't get your home warranty from them. Worst company ever.

The inspectors arrived on time, promptly began their work, concluded with a verbal summary and provided the opportunity to ask questions. Direct and to the point. Exactly what I want.

They did a home inspection on my first condo purchase and charged me 515 dollars. Total waste of money! Within the first week my toilet wasn't flushing and the plumber had to come out and fix my water pressure in my kitchen sink!

As a Real estate professional, I am absolutely disgusted with the services provided by HomeGuard Warranty. I have sold over 500 homes and I'm in the top 5 agents in the county of selling homes in my area every year. At first Homeguards reps would be awesome coming into our office and telling us about their products. Then I started to use them for my clients, I had a client who has entrusted me with their transaction on their home. I thought Homeguard was a tip top company because their customer service was great. Until I found out that their service department and sales department are not even the same entity. This is misleading, and a misrepresentation of what their company stands for. I will be telling other realtor and professionals on how bad this company is. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They do not stand behind their product or their people who they are supposed to protect.

They did an amazing job for my house to be fumigated. Also they fixed damaged areas very quickly on time. I'd like to give my special thanks to Stephania for helping me pay the fee. She was very kind and tolerant and guided me very thoroughly and patiently. Thank you.

The crew that showed up were very professional, wore masks, went though their inspection inside and out with care and efficiency, At the end of the review, they provided an exit interview with pictures with areas of possible deficiency and thoughts as to how they could be repaired. Within a day, we were provided with a full written report, with copies of the pictures and an estimate of the cost of each of the repairs if we chose to use their services. Interaction with the main office to assure that my online payment was handled by Angelique Martinez, who was absolutely great. She assured that my payment was posted timely and made sure to send me a receipt of payment in full once the payment was posted to my account. We were referred to HomeGuard by our realtor when we first purchased our home. They did the initial inspection. About a year later, we contacted them due to a leak in roof. They came out to repair our roof. I had to contact customer service about our billing info, etc., and their customer service was great. I spoke to Angelique Martinez, who promptly took care of updating our file. Also, the General Manager, Russ, came out to check on our job and it was nice to see a company that had awesome customer service and cared about their work! Definitely recommend!

I wouldn't use this company again if they were the last one left on planet earth. They missed so many things it's not even funny at least Ten thousand worth of damages they refuse to cover. My house has termites two different kinds that's going to coast over four thousand to get rid of. The owner should be ashamed of himself and this company. They claimed my ac worked which it did not. They failed to miss a leak I had in my shower which more than likely caused the termites save yourself thousands and let this company go out of business...

The worst! They sent an incompetent handyman out to repair our A/C condenser pump. His solution was to disable it, so that instead of pumping the A/C condensate out it accumulated in the drip pan which overflowed all over the ceiling of our walk-in closet, destroying the drywall and infesting the room with mold and mildew. HomeGuard: Oh we re not responsible for secondary damages... even though our policy clearly states we are covered for incidents arising from faulty repairs. HomeGuard/HomeWarrantee is a COMPLETE waste of money. If I could give negative stars I would.

My husband received reports in a timely manner. All the staff was helpful Along the way. Lastly when I had to make the payment Ms. Stephania Perez helped me with the process of making payment myself online. She was really patient in walking me through it. Good customer skills..

TANIA WAS VERY NICE ON THE PHONE THE SERVICE WILL BE DONE FRIDAY SO CAN'T COMMENT ON THE SECOND LINE

I strongly recommend against hiring this company.

1. The three inspection reports (roof, structure and termites) were a shameless attempt to drum up work for contractors. This was true of all three reports and two actually had bids for the work attached!!! How can anyone call this objective!
2. The termite report was grossly misleading. Only 5% of the problems cited were termite related; the rest concerned minor weathering effects on the rafters and eves. In the manner presented it made it look as though we had a major termite problem.
3. The work was sloppily and lazily done. The inspectors used every excuse to avoid doing their job. They could not push the cover aside to look at the water heater, they could not open a door to look at the furnace, they could not walk around furniture in the garage to look at the walls, and so on.
4. Two of the reports (the roof report excepted) completely lacked any objectivity; it was a job list not a professional evaluation of the house.

In summary, these guys are a con; they are only interested in avoiding their reponsibilities and drumming up work for themselves and other contractors. Since we are in the throes of trying to sell a house and buyers will see these results, the behavior of this company is exploitative.

After OVER A MONTH of visits by inept repair companies my air conditioning claim was denied. Reason given was for "lack of maintenance" on the equipment. Customer service is very poor. Phone calls never returned. Sometimes placed on hold for 30 minutes. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Great company to work with for Home Inspections and competitive bids for repair. My go-to for contact is Emily James and she is always very responsive and helpful for coordinating and scheduling inspections as well as follow up on reports when there is a time crunch on getting them back from the inspectors.

Alsolutely worst inspection company ever. They ask to pay money ahead and don't want to refund. We had condo inspections, they included incorrect windows location in the building in the report, but owners can't change windows location and size, as HOA owns the building. Worst service ever. Not recommended. Price is also high, 800$+ for 1 bedroom home inspection. Other companies will provide better inspections for 320-500 max.

We had a marvelous experience with HomeGuard!! From the inspectors (Roof, Termite and the whole house) to the very professional termite technician who repaired the house later, the friendly and very efficient employees at the office, Janette, Lucinda and Brenda. We will definitely recommend HomeGuard to anyone who needs it.

I chose HomeGuard to do the termite work on my new house.

The seller had a quote from another company. I was able to send that report to HomeGuard and they provided a free competitive bid that would save me $900 ($5700 vs $6600 the other company bid).

I needed subterranean termite treatment, some repairs for damaged wood, and fumigation. All the work was done in under a week, scheduled a little less than a month after I first asked for a quote.

I feel satisfied with the work and happy to save some money.

Homeguard made a variety of repairs to my mom's house and they were all completed in a timely manner. The employees were friendly and competent. The payment department was also very helpful, especially Stephania.

Really bad attitude customer service. The customer service guy who picked up my phone is really helpless and rude. He could not explain anything and said " I understand your complain, the only reason you complain is just you don't want to pay $30". I will never call them again.

I should have checked the review prior to hire them. My agent made a recommendation for them and I ended up bought a home with active leakage problem on clearly visible and accessible site. Luckily found it prior to my moving date and fixed it, but they never returned my call and voice messages left at least 3 times. I'll report it to bureau and take some actions.

they took care of business with a minimum of fuss. I didn't even have to be there. They let themselves in and took care of the issue.

It's nice to not have to wait for the inspectors to arrive, get quality service and fast responses when I had questions!

HER Realty and others should drop this company like a bad habit. They DO NOT and WILL NOT stand by their guaranteed policy items even if it CLEARLY states the item/s in question. Companies like this never last long.

If your see the low star reviews it's probably from a real customer like myself. I have called for warranty for my pool TWICE. The staff was rude and hung up on me. Had to speak to their supervisor JOHN VEGA. They pay games of putting you on hold. Had to pay a $75 fee to their contracted pool inspection company "Backyard Pool" (The Tech will always come out and say this will be replaced or repaired but on their reports back to the warranty is always customer at fault). Long story short, they will not honor any major repairs. They might replace a o-ring but will always find an excuse that you voided the contract to not replace anything. Home owners beware this is not a company that is trying to help you. I highly recommend you pass this one. I know I'll be switching VERY SOON!

Extremely rude customer service (agent named Desiree). First she tried to claim the appliance was installed after the inspection, and then I pointed out the exact page number on the report with a photo. Then she tried to claim that the issue existed prior to the policy, solely based on talking to me over the phone, even though the appliance was already inspected and no issues were found.

All documents were sent by Brenda Munoz. Everything very smooth with no hiccups. Very satisfied.

They were efficient and they all had mask and protective gear during this COVID-19 Pandemic. My realtor Tim Hiemstra with Napa River Realty was impressed with their work and highly recommends their services.

I used HomeGuard services yesterday to inspect a property I'm in the process of purchasing.
The site inspection took less than 1.5 hour for a total cost of $880. Not really value for money but OK.
I called the office today to pay over the phone and spoke to very rude lady. She made zero effort trying to understand my address and asked me to spell everything pretending to not understand. She was very upset when I asked her to change my email address from Gmail to Hotmail, she made a loud sigh while asking "so which one it is!?" and pretending it was a big deal and she didn't understand. She was on speaker and my wife couldn't believe what she was hearing... At the end the lady didn't say thank you, didn't say goodbye, and then hang-up while I was speaking!
It's shocking to see people with such poor manners and no customer service skills being at the front face of a business.
I regret using this company and would recommend others to stay away from them.

If I could I would put 0 stars. We are still in the middle of this nightmare they call service. My husband and I received their inspections of our now-home and were very impressed with the inspection. Because of this, we decided to go with them to get the repairs done.

That was the biggest mistake we made. The first huge complaint I have is that they were not transparent at all in regards to their pricing. It turns out there was more work that needed to be done, and we were fine with it but wanted to know the cost. It took both my husband and myself emailing and calling (even speaking with the manager) to get transparency about pricing.

The second hugest complaint is their timeliness. They were supposed to be done Monday, September 26th. Unfortunately, because of the additional repairs, they needed to do more. That was understandable, and the person handling our account stated it would be done by this upcoming Thursday, October 4th. This was imperative because we are going on a very tight schedule. In the meantime, they have left a gaping hole in the middle of our bathroom, turned off the water, and have not sent anyone to finish the work. They did not work on it today, October 1st, because one man was sick. That is not acceptable. When my husband called the company, they were not aware that it had to be done on Thursday and stated that they will make sure to be done by October 11th. Which is absolutely not okay because we told them that was not possible.

Their work is shoddy, and it should be an embarrassment to them that they left a gaping hole in the middle of their customer's house for more than a day. They are not transparent with their costs at all until you push them to pull out a calculator.

It would have been better for us to have hired a contractor and Terminex to get this job done. Don't waste your time with these people.
