I have never experienced a hotel stay like this.

I have never experienced a hotel stay like this.

We are currently staying at this hotel after booking for two nights. We were very happy with the hotel and room when we arrived. However, at 9.00pm we started to hear loud bumps from the room above us--as if kids were either jumping up and down on the bed or banging a ball on the floor. This went on until 10.30 when my partner called reception to report and ask to intervene. The person at the desk said to leave it with him. The noise continued so at 11.10pm I actually had to get dressed to go down to the front desk to complain.

When I got to the front desk, the one person at the desk was extremely rude to me. He asked me what number room the sound was coming from. I said I don't know the numbers of the room but it is directly above us. He appeared to not know the room number above our room or have any interest in solving our problem. When I told him we had specifically requested a quiet room, he started laughing and said good luck with that on a weekend. This is after we had received an email confirming our request for a quiet room had been received and would be honored. Then he said he would get to it eventually. When I told him my partner had phoned 40 minutes ago and nothing had been done, he shrugged and said he had just started work and so it wasn't him that had said he would do something. I asked to talk to the manager and he said he was the manager. I asked his name and he said -Brian but refused to give me his full name. I am a professional who travels nationally and internationally frequently and I can honestly say I have never had a worse experience with a hotel staff member as with Brian. I am completely disgusted at the response to now (the noise is still continuing at 11.30, so now two and a half hours) and the response from Brian.

A really horrible end to a wonderful three week trip in Utah.

I stay exclusively in HI Express hotels throughout the country. I am a Spire Elite member. This, by far, was the worst HI Express hotel I have ever stayed in. 1. At check-in, computers were not working, so check in took longer than usual. In addition, I was told I had to wear a mask or I would not be served. I told the desk clerk I did not have a mask and explained that the governor had lifted the mask mandate. She reminded me the Holiday Inn Express was privately owned and it was the hotel policy. I had to have a mask or I would not be allowed to check in. Rude. 2. After a long day, I came back to the hotel and we had not had any room service. No clean towels or wash clothes for an early morning departure. Trash had not been emptied. We were not told there would not be any room service. 3. Free parking is a complete JOKE -- I arrived back at the hotel at 11 p.m. on a Friday evening. The parking garage was completely full. The parking garage is not big enough to handle even 50% occupancy. It is two floors and accommodates maybe 25-30 cars each floor. The drive up ramp to the front doors was completely filled with cars who were allowed to park in the loading zone. Cars that needed to unload completely backed up cars attempting to drive through due to all the other parked cars. I finally made my way to the front desk and asked where we were supposed to park. I was told that parking on the street was free from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m., but a sign at the front desk said they had been notified by SLC police that there had been an increase of car break ins and that we were encouraged to take all of our belongings out of the car. The street parking around the hotel was completely full. I was told that my only option would be a public parking garage on the opposite side of the block, but it would cost $10 for the night. I asked the clerk if we would be reimbursed. He said no. I will NEVER stay at this property ever again, even though there are events I attend that are directly across the street at the Salt Lake Convention Center.

Don t waste your time and money. I called ahead of time to make a reservation for 1 night. I was told the room would be $131 before taxes. When I arrived to check in they charged me for $224.10 They failed to mention over the phone that there would be a $75 hold on the room. Cash is not accepted card only. Not only that but they ended up charging my credit card twice. I went out to dinner with my family and when I arrived back to the hotel around 9pm the parking garage was full on all levels. There is not enough parking for even half of the hotel. I asked the check in desk where I am supposed to park granted that I paid to stay at a hotel there should be a place for me to park. I was told that it s free to park in front of the pay meters in town until 8am or there is a lot for the night for $13. Besides that I booked a 2 queen room. The bathroom has a sliding door that does not lock or stay shut. It constantly rolls open while you re using the restroom. The morning of check out we tried the free breakfast. It was cold and stale. It immediately made me feel ill. My husband and I have stayed at several other HI Express hotels on the west coast and have never had a problem. We will not be staying here again. Not worth the money. I recommend paying a bit more to stay somewhere else.

This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Every single day and what seemed to be almost every hour the cleaning staff were mopping/vacuuming/polishing the carpets, tiled floors or the drinking fountains. You can tell that the hotel and it's staff take pride in having a clean facility. My family of four enjoyed our stay here tremendously. The pool goes to 9 feet deep, which is almost unheard of for a hotel. Every single person we interacted with was polite and helpful (front desk staff, cleaning staff, maintenance and the food service staff). This will probably be the only hotel we use now whenever we go to Salt lake City. Do not pass on this hotel you will not be disappointed.

Nice hotel and clean. Free parking. Only thing I'm salty about is they would not let me get a later check out. I asked during the check in process and was told to call the morning of check out to see.. I called early morning the next day and was told no. She said the latest would be 12:30.
I know hotels are not obligated to do that but life happens sometimes. I don't live in Salt Lake. I was taken back a little as this was the only hotel I stayed at that wouldn't let me do a later check out. It is the little things for me.

I hadn't stayed at this property since Holiday in bought it and remodeled. It is much nicer. Very clean and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a mix up with my reservation that was mostly due to Hotels.com but they fixed it the best they could. The king size bed in our room was a little too firm and the pillows to flat for my liking. My only real complaint is the parking situation. The parking garage was basically full when we got there and there isn't any room to turn around

This hotel has a parking garage that can not accommodate all of its guests. We had to find parking else where downtown Salt Lake and the hotel did not reimburse for that parking fee. We've always loved Holiday Inn Express but we will not stay in this one again.

Check in and out were easy and efficient. The room was clean and conferrable. During COVID-19 they're giving you a sack breakfast. I thought it was good for the times we are living in. All the employees were working to the COVID health standard's and working with the guests to obey the standards. Parking was tight not sure if they have enough for every room.

My wife and I were very pleased with our experience here. Not only was everything clean, but our room was stylish and spacious (it was the two bed standard room). The breakfast was actually really good and came with plenty of options. We will definitely stay again if we fly back here.
