I stay exclusively in HI Express hotels throughout...

I stay exclusively in HI Express hotels throughout the country. I am a Spire Elite member. This, by far, was the worst HI Express hotel I have ever stayed in. 1. At check-in, computers were not working, so check in took longer than usual. In addition, I was told I had to wear a mask or I would not be served. I told the desk clerk I did not have a mask and explained that the governor had lifted the mask mandate. She reminded me the Holiday Inn Express was privately owned and it was the hotel policy. I had to have a mask or I would not be allowed to check in. Rude. 2. After a long day, I came back to the hotel and we had not had any room service. No clean towels or wash clothes for an early morning departure. Trash had not been emptied. We were not told there would not be any room service. 3. Free parking is a complete JOKE -- I arrived back at the hotel at 11 p.m. on a Friday evening. The parking garage was completely full. The parking garage is not big enough to handle even 50% occupancy. It is two floors and accommodates maybe 25-30 cars each floor. The drive up ramp to the front doors was completely filled with cars who were allowed to park in the loading zone. Cars that needed to unload completely backed up cars attempting to drive through due to all the other parked cars. I finally made my way to the front desk and asked where we were supposed to park. I was told that parking on the street was free from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m., but a sign at the front desk said they had been notified by SLC police that there had been an increase of car break ins and that we were encouraged to take all of our belongings out of the car. The street parking around the hotel was completely full. I was told that my only option would be a public parking garage on the opposite side of the block, but it would cost $10 for the night. I asked the clerk if we would be reimbursed. He said no. I will NEVER stay at this property ever again, even though there are events I attend that are directly across the street at the Salt Lake Convention Center.
