The conference rooms were great for holding staff meetings in a comfortable environment.
Went there for a conference. Seemed like a normal hotel, no complaints. Doorman was helpful in directing people to the right place.
Wonderful room, great view. Very helpful staff members.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are beautiful, comfortable, clean, and up to date. Great location with an awesome view. We were very happy with our stay and will be back again. Thank you!
All I can say is.... VIEWS Pools and decent rooms.
Great place to stay in River North! Although, I have never paid less than $150/night,!
Holiday Inn is a place away from home more like a getaway. A place where you feel comfortable, A place you can rest and relax checkout the room with the City view, Excellent Hotel Staff, treat you with courtesy and most of all with respect.
Great place near everything especially when in town for the Chicago Marathon
Would definitely recommend this hotel...was there recently for work and my wife and infant came with! They were so polite to us the whole time. The coffee at the Merchant Market was great. I thought the $3 bottle of water was a little excessive but still enjoyed the whole stay there!
Better than expected. Rooms were large and the bed was comfortable. Did not have any issue with noise. There food was over priced and did not taste good.
A little confusing to get to the hotel, but very nice service once I got there. Great location with a great view, close to restaurants. Upgraded to a lovely suite, though I initially thought the nondescript door was to a storage room. Will stay there again.
Location is perfect, has the nice view on the river . Very good customer service and the room is clean and comfortable.
Got a room with river view, a nice location for a good price. But breakfast menu in buffet was waste of $25 including tax. Was a disappointment.
Amazing view, decent food service. Friendly, helpful staff. Great room, fast elevator. Close enough to different hotspots in Chicago, including Union Station. Will definitely be staying again.
This place was wonderful went with the family over Labor Day weekend, staff was awesome food was great in the restaurant and the room was amazing. We will definitely make this our go to hotel every time we visit Chicago.
Very nice rooms with comfortable beds. Our room had a mini fridge which was nice. Needed an extra night and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. The rates are reasonable, even over a weekend. The only gripe is the lobby is located on the 15th floor and the signs on the ground floor are not very clear. Would definitely stay here again.
Friendly staff, clean rooms. 2 things to improve on: dated a/c unit and when clarifying for room with a view, opt for river view instead of city view since city view faces out away from downtown. Great experience with helicopter filming nearby for film Rampage.
Room were great. Hotel was clean. Center of downtown.
Really nice views of the city. Clean rooms. A good bar. No refrigerator in the room. Basic amenities present.
I stayed at this hotel in Sunday the night staff was unprofessional an rude. An for some odd reason they don t do early check in if u purchase your reservation with Priceline. I will never stay there again!!!
Great view. Lots of food options in walking distance. Nice room
Our doorman" MILES"was the best help made our stay a good one handled our baggage also told us about all the great things to visit the older man concierge at the front door great help forgot his name also Pam great tour information these three are the best thing going for the Holiday Inn... front desk staff and female greeter on the 15th floor could be better and more helpful you could learn something from these 3ppl.. don't snub people because of the color of their skin.. also Holiday Inn could do better with outdoor signs letting you know they're located on the 15th floor and charging guess $43 a day for parking rooms have mini fridges but no microwaves at $200 a night you would think they would have microwaves. but they have $4 bottled water in your room for you to buy besides that rooms are clean beds are comfy
The view from the room was great.
I can not speak English, but I was able to start a good trip with a kind response.
Everything was wonderful. The staff was accommodating and the hotel itself was beautiful!
Great location with great views located right in merchandise mart. Hotel stay here often comes with free garage self parking. Price is competitive and on the low side while hotel rooms are nice and clean. I would say this is a hidden gem holiday inn
A few small things were broken (lights and such) but the hotel itself was nice.
Very clean rooms, curtious and accommodating staff. Restaurant/bar offers amazing views of city
Nice friendly staff. Good veiw of the Chicago River. Easy access to transportation including the trains.
This hotel was very helpful with fixing a reservation/cancelation problem.
Very nice place to stay! The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice and clean! Everything was well stocked, and everything worked well. I didn't find any weird stains or stray hairs which is sadly commonplace in hotels. The atmosphere of the whole place is really cool as well! I appreciate the built-in bars and lounge area. Even the lobby areas are nice and clean! Very nice
Excellent location ! Riverwalk is 2 walk. Rooms are big and staff very nice.
The City Scape Bar is a great place to grab a drink with friends with the best view in Chicago. The Happy Hour specials are from 4pm-6pm M-F. I would suggest a glass of the house red, a half order of the fried pickles and several friends to share a great conversation and terrific view.
Great location near the river, with easy access to the Mart via an indoor bridge. Beautiful hotel.
Nice place, friendly staff and clean rooms near everything
Rooms were clean and had a nice view of the city. The beds weren't extremely comfortable.
The people here are unbelievably professional, nice and accommodating! My first time staying with Holiday Inn and it definitely won't be my last!
The space was great and very clean. The sound system in the meeting room could've been a little better. It was foggy and, at times, hard to understand speakers at the microphone. All in all, great place to hold a large meeting.
i like it here becaus ehwen we was here the swinning pool was very beautiful and clean also wen we are at there next time where going to do the gym
Fine clean hotel, although it was busy so getting checked in took a while.
The management staff at Chicago-Mart Plaza are rude and unreliable. They do not follow up with inquiries and lacks the maturity and professionalism people expect in customer service. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, in fact I would refrain from staying at the hotel if possible.
Lobby and rooms were spacious and updated. Hallways were still very dated. Skip the hotel bar. It was expensive add usual, so we found a nice bar nearby.
We blocked out rooms for our wedding guests at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, and the process could't have been easier. We worked with
Michael Brown, and he was awesome. Diane was also a big help when Michael was out of the office for a few days. We got a great rates, the rooms were nice, the view was beautiful, and you can't get much better a location. Every staff member you meet is extremely nice and approachable. I would love to stay here again.
One of the nicest Holiday Inns I've stayed in. Reasonably priced, plenty of food options and great coffee in the Merchant's Market.
Nice hotel in a great location with incredible views of the Chicago River, and helpful staff
Place looks NICE and all that's why I give 3/5. Here's why.....
PROS & CONS:
It takes forever to look for a room and they don't bother to tell you what floor is so I have to find it for myself expecially the # of the door is weird. Don't like the hours to check-in time which is a little later. I was hoping to give us an options because all you see is everyone check in at the same time so it's quite busy. I dislike about crowded elevators and they don't have multiple elevators which is ridiculous!!! It takes forever! They don't allowed to park outside drop off even though you're alone with a car and you don't want to pay for parking so All I want to check-in quick. Like really????!! I booked early w/ parking so why would I pay for it while I get there?? Which I didn't so they don't give us an options to park quick to check-in+out quick so I'm DISAPPOINTED!! I see other people doing it so might as well do it. The parking building is too tight as if there's no room to back up so not that much of spacious expecially the road surrounding. They don't give us varies options for payment for in and out in the parking building, you just have to pay it at front which I find it weird cause I never seen anything like that before. Everything is too expensive and I don't have that much of money to be waste.
What's good about this place is you can access wifi and watch tv channel. They provide you towels etc. everything is free, No Charge fees. They have pool and excercise room. You can also choose which room you want to see; the cities sky view which is aaamaaazing even though I didn't asked for that room recommendation but I guess I'm glad I got it since everything already booked before hand. Place looks nice and clean.
Anyway I won't come here anymore because my experience there is awful! Even though this is my own opinions and my experience there. The lady attendent when I first got there gave me an attitude when I check-in from the first time. I read a couple few comments about it.
Luxurious room with great view of the downtown area
Magnificent views! Perfect location. Close to a lot of stuff. Will stay again
Tiny rooms. Half the rooms look at other rooms out the window
Staying here for work & this hotel is conveniently located in Chicago. The hotel room is very clean, the lobby is great & all hotel staff I've interacted with have been outstanding. The fitness center is pretty incredible for a hotel, a great spot to get in a workout while in town. Finally, everything you could possibly want for eating or drinking is within easy walking distance.
A wonderful place. Clean and easy to access. The food was great and the staff supreme
Very comfortable hotel, very well located, great service.
Once you find your way around to the check-in and to your room, it's a really nice hotel.
The city view from our hotel room of coarse. Went for 1 night only, but will definitely be going back. The hotel staff is friendly and they have a pool, sauna and fitness center.
Was here for a CARA event. Very nicelydone. Hotel rooms were nice and pretty good deal. For 20 bucks, you can park At Wolf Pointe Garage and the hotel will validate your parking for overnight. Best in the city.
We came to Chicago for a concert and checked in at 3pm. This hotel is horrible. We have been switched to three different rooms. One room had bed bugs, one room sheets was dirty and the other one was also dirty. The security came to our room to tell us that we had to go to bed because we are talking to loud and it is quiet time now. I will never recommend anyone to this hotel or visit it again.
The hotel is in a nice location in downtown Chicago. It offers easy access to the Riverwalk and to the Miracle Mile. The hotel has a large pool and fitness area with a decent selection of equipment. My room had a lot of space and included a couch. I would definitely stay here again!
Clean room, Nice view, Location is not good, compare to other hotels in town. (eveytime I needed to call uber to have dinner)
Reception is at 15F. Starbucks, CVS, Subwat sandwiches are in walking distance.
Costco Christmas Party for the Employees Got invited to attend with Friends it was NiceI had a good time.
Stayed one night. After carefully checking all the hotels and its location map, decided to stay at Holiday Inn Mart Plaza as it had great view of the river. I called the front desk for reservation and I requested to get a room from where I can see the river and all the three bridges (Lake St bridge, W Randolph St and W Washington St). Help desk person said I will get the best available room and I was assured that I will get view of the river and all three bridges. I took room keys at 10:30 PM hoping to get very good view and to take good Pictures. To my surprise when I opened the window curtains, I saw a big building which blocks entire view. I was very disappointed and called front desk. They agreed to change the room and gave another room which was exactly opposite to the view what I wanted and I could not take Pictures. Reason they gave for first room is that it had very good view and new building was constructed and view is blocked. I was very surprised why they gave me that room in first place when they clearly know what is my expectation. I called again to Front desk to check for another room at 11:30 PM they said they will call me back. I did not get any response back for next 15 minutes. I called front desk again and they said they have already changed a room and they cannot guarantee what room I will be getting during reservation and offered me another room reluctantly as if they want to do a favor for me. I am totally disappointed as I could not get the pictures. I felt my hard earned money is wasted. I also got holiday inn promotional offer package. I will cancel it and get refund as it not worth after this experience. Please be careful and select correct rooms as per your expectations.
The Holiday Inn spent 30 million dollars on this flagship location and it really shows.
My room on the 19th floor was completely renovated. The views from here are breathtaking. The location of the hotel gives great vantage points of the river including views of the Sears Tower (yes us locals still call it that), John Hancock and Trump Tower. I could just sit here all day and night to just simply enjoy the view. The rooms were also really modern. The couch in my room was also a pullout sleeper which is important when traveling with kids.
I loved that the clock radios have a place to plug my iPod in. I can now be the DJ in my room. This is important to the frequent traveler because I never know any of the good radio stations in other cities. Now I don't even have to search the dial. I just plug my iPod in and I'm rocking. My other favorite feature was the Bed-Light. I have never seen one of these before but it was great to use if you needed to read while sitting in bed. My little one and I played prison break and used it as a spot light. Shhh don't tell Mr Holiday Inn.
Room Service was also amazing too. Holiday Inn promised our breakfast on time and it arrived when scheduled. I also must point out that it was still hot when it arrived. That never happens in other hotels. The eggs were cooked perfectly along with the bacon and sausage. And the breakfast potatoes were still crunchy and not soggy. Breakfast was as good if not better, if I had been sitting in a restaurant and not my room. Also high praise for the coffee because it was still hot in the pot four hours later. I need one of those pots at home.
The indoor pool area is really nice too especially in the colder months. My little one loved swimming and playing. I loved the atrium over the pool which brought in nice natural light. The lounge chairs around the pool had fun colors and were really comfy. But my favorite area was the workout room. There was plenty of cardio machines to choose from. I typically use a hotel fitness room on all of my trips and this gym did not let me down. All of the equipment was new and had great views of the pool. I am also sure that you would never have to wait for equipment with the amount that they had. There were also some dumb bells and a Nautilus machine for working out the legs and arms.
Another great feature that I loved was the free Wifi throughout the hotel. I never understood why hotels would charge there guests $30 a night for Internet when you are already paying a ton of money for the room. This free guest amenity is worth the price of a hotel room alone.
The lobby is spectacular. There is a giant water fall and the middle is open all the way up like an atrium. In fact, I was running a little low on battery juice and noticed that the area by the waterfall had plugs everywhere. I could plug in anywhere near a couch or a chair and keep posting pictures (which is the reason my battery was dying in the first place). More hotels need to be conscious of customers needing places to power there devices.
I must say that I have changed my view of the Holiday Inn. When I was a little kid the Holiday Inn was the cool hotel, but along the way the product became dated. I find it amazing that the Holiday Inn has returned to its commitment to being a top brand again. This flagship location in Chicago shows me how amazing the Holiday Inn can be, even if just for a local Stay-cation.
Personally I wish I did not live in Chicago because this would be my preferred hotel of choice when visiting this great city. So hopefully you are traveling in to Chicago and you are looking for an incredible hotel, then look no further then the newly remodeled Holiday Inn Chicago Mart. You will be loving every minute of your stay just from the views alone.
It's in perfect location accessible to airport with public transportation.Wi-Fi and interior is also very nice.staff is very professional.
Ok place. rooms views on corner are obstructed by building room 2125 has moisture stains and possibly mold. Room felt wet from moisture.
Amazing staff, very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast, and trendy bar. Hotel had a great location. My only complaint is be that the rooms were small
Customer service from the moment you arrive to the time you leave is on point. Very caring staff. Prices are a little higher but a Chicago vacation here is well worth it!
Nice place downtown- Beware your GPS gets very confused finding ths place!
I stayed at this place with my wife and two kids. Room is not spacious but clean and the view is excellent. Parking is $39 with in-n-out privilege.
The hotel is very well locate at downtown Chicago, close to the Loop. The room has a nice space. Although some people may complain on loud noise from the air conditioner, for me it was fine. The breakfast price was a little high, but the bar has a nice selection of local beers at a reasonable price.
Very nice hotel, only bad thing was the main lobby was on the 15th floor... other then that I recommend this hotel
Our service was fantastic. My only complaint is that the pull out couch did not come with any sheets or blankets for it.
Came here for family reunion, great views of the city, nice rooms & bar is
on 15th floor with the lobby....walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars and shopping
Great hotel in the middle of Chicago downtown. Lots of bars and restaurants in the local area and a quick uber ride to most things i the city. The city view bar in the Lobby is a great place to finish off the day and relax while looking at the night view.
Parking is a bit pricey if you are driving and very inconvenient. Pool and gym are a great size and very usable
Stayed here for St Patrick's weekend and it was an amazing experience. The hotel staff is nice and friendly and their bar has a killer view of the river.
