Great location for a hotel. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by. Rooms are clean front desk attendees were very professional. I was greeted with dignity. Parking is good if I would of got there before 7pm but again it could of been due to a great demand from this spectacular hotel. Oh almost forgot to say great price.

I can't remember the last time I've been to a hotel as nice as this one. Every single one of the staff that I interacted with was friendly, the room I stayed in was clean, the bed and sheets were comfortable, the breakfast was good, the hot tub was great. All in all, if you're staying in Duluth, this hotel should be at the top of your list.

Gorgeous hotel, gorgeous room! First time I have had hotel staff call the room to ask me if there was anything that I needed. Staff was extremely friendly and they were definitely flexible with letting me check out a little later than the check out time (which is noon). Will definitely be back!

Very expensive for what you get. The beds were very comfortable though. The hotel had a sign in the bathroom about basic toiletries being available including toothbrushes and toothpaste, but they were out. For $276 per night, they should have gone down to the local Walgreens to pick one up for me... LOL!

Great place to stay, however there was a mixup of whether we wanted the beds made or not. The head of housekeeping talked with us to get things straightened out. They were very helpful.

Gold IHG member accidentally cancelled appointment, when I meant to switch dates due to snow storm. IHG refused and would only rebook at $185 and hotel management was no better. By far worst service out of the many hotels I stay at.

When we stayed with little kids in this hotel, A/C was not working properly in our room. It was making a lot of strange noises and constantly waking up kids at night. Manager of this hotel is very rude. I complained about problem. Her only response was that we were supposed to call at the middle of the night technician, who would come and fix A/C!!! Really?? In the middle of the night?? With kids in room? We came to that hotel to get some rest at night. It did not happen. And even the solution that General Manager offered is very inappropriate.
Also, the room was not cleaned well. We stayed in a dirty, not dusted and not vacuumed room. When I complained to the manager - her response was that they clean only the common area. Which means, that only part of the desk will be cleaned and dusted - not all desk. I could not believe it when I heard her response!

I do not recommend this property at all.

We got a suite for Valentine's day. They put us on a floor loaded with kids from a hockey tournament. When we went down to complain about the kids playing ding dong ditch at our door, they handled it promptly, however they didn't seem to really care too much. Lol. The hot tub and pool had WAY TOO MUCH chlorine. It made our eyes burn just to walk in to the room. We tried to endure it but couldn't take it. Disappointed in our stay.

Was certainly a great hotel to stay at, they are extremely considerate and made the stay probably the best I've had a hotel. The breakfast was actually great and was at a reasonable time for waking up. If we are going to be in Duluth in the future Holiday Inn will more than likely be the go to

Just 10 minutes from downtown Duluth, this sits a top Miller hill. There is great shopping just 2 minutes away at Miller Hill Mall. It was a great place to stay, but no bath tub (showers only). Great staff that is willing to help visitors in the area. The staff didn't seem put out at all when asking for anything additional (i.e. towels, lost room key, etc.). My wife and I stayed here during our trip and would stay again, no questions asked. The free breakfast was icing on the cake. Highly recommend staying. Don't forget to ask about tickets for the Scenic Railroad or to Great Lakes Aquarium. Have fun in Duluth!

I am not one to write reviews but I was really impressed with the staff at this hotel. They went above and beyond to make my business stay great. I will request this hotel from my clients in the future!

Edit: I stayed the 19-20th. I forgot a power cord I needed so I called the night of the 20th when I got home and was told they had it and took my name and address to mail it back. Still didn't receive it by the 27th so I called back and again they said a manager would call. It is now the 30th (a full 10 days later) and I finally received a call and they wanted my credit card so they could ship the cord as long as I pay for it. Seriously.....

Original: Hotel was fine. Really wish holiday inn would stop serving their microwaved cheese omelettes and Turkey sausage. Just scrambled eggs and regular sausage would be much better

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and the building still feels like new. I stayed on the 4th floor. There isn't a view of anything but it is relatively close to anything in Hermantown and a 12 minute drive to canal park!

I stay at this location every few months when I am in Duluth for work and have stayed here both pre- and post-COVID. Overall, this Holiday Inn Express is very clean, and now there is hand sanitizer located throughout the building near the elevators, front desk, coffee station, guest computers, etc. The rooms are also clean and comfortable. Even though the fitness and pool area are closed right now due to COVID restrictions, they continue to provide a nice grab-and-go breakfast with a decent selection of pre-packaged items. The front desk is also staffed 24 hours, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I have stayed here multiple times, sometimes staying up to 1 week at a time, and I have always had a pleasant stay.

Late night front desk was so rude. No greeting like they are supposed to do for my member level. Completely uneducated on service animals, which made the check in process a hassle. The room had a random pack of cigarettes on the floor when I went in, so they aren't vacuuming between guests. Everything is shut down bc it's Minnesota so don't expect any amenities or manners.

The perfect landing place for our family of 6 after a few days in the Boundary Waters. We rented a very large room that had two queens and a pullout couch. Did some laundry on the fifth floor. Soaked our knotted muscles in the spa. And enjoyed the bountiful and varied breakfast options. The building is pretty new, quite clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It s a bit far from the waterfront dining scene but it s an easy drive down there and totally worth it.

We didn't even make it through the front door before we were met with very unacceptable customer service. The woman behind the desk was very rude and was looking into our luggage as well as commenting about it. We were using hotel points to spend our stay at this hotel and the service was insulting. When we commented on the rudeness she patronizingly directed us to a run-down motel across the street where we could spend our stay. When we asked if she could help us to get our points back because we were dissatisfied and flabbergasted by how rude she was, she bluntly told us she can't help us at all and to call cooperate. Needless to say, we did not stay there and found a new hotel.

Very frustrated that I left some items in the bathroom that were full , not empty women's cosmetics and grooming items are not cheap that they were disposed of and could have been bagged and a phone call made even though I called a few hours later.

We were really looking forward to our stay in Duluth until we had an unfortunate change of plans. Since the bookings are non-refundable, we tried to see if we could change the dates of our stay or to get credit toward a future stay. They were not willing to work with us at all and gave us no other options. This was very disappointing and we'll make sure to take our business elsewhere even though it was a very nice hotel.

Nice stay. Had a standard room which I thought was two beds. Got an upgrade to a king suite, but there was only one bed. Didn't work well with 4 people. 2 had to sleep on the extremely uncomfortable pull out couch. Clerk was unwilling to switch us back to a normal room. Also they ran out of comforters for the pull out. Pretty disappointed in the staff, but the facility is new and nice. Amenities are comparable to other hotels.

Asked for a late checkout, and management stated that was not possible for hockey teams. When booking the hotel they told me that it was possible, so had to sit with a smelly kid for 7 hours.

My husband and I were visiting Duluth to see the City on a Hill concert. I have never been there before, so we made a weekend of it. The hotel was very nice! Everything looked relatively new. We had a regular two-bed queen room on the 4th floor. Beds were very comfortable, but the rooms are not noise-canceling, as I was woken up at 5:30 in the morning to LOUD thumping on the ceiling above me. Luckily, I was able to turn on the a/c and get right back to sleep. The room overlooked one side of the parking lot and a well-maintained lawn area. I didn't have a chance to try out the pool. Breakfast was nice with a great assortment of choices: oatmeal, cereal, eggs, pork sausage, turkey sausage, a variety of breads for toasting, pancakes, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, Cinnabon cinnamon rolls, milk, juices, hot tea, and coffee. We were only about 15 minutes away from downtown Duluth, where we spent most our two-day vacation.

New hotel, new modern rooms with LED lighting and USB charging ports. Breakfast with real scrambled eggs and pancake machine. Pool was nice, hot tub even nicer. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay on business. Beds are more comfortable than the Marriott down the road and the room is cheaper. Big bathrooms. Views are either of Fleet Farm or a dealership but downtown and the lake are a quick easy drive.
