Holiday Inn Express- Duluth Reviews

The breakfast is nice, and the hotel is as expected. The service was great, and they have decent WiFi. Overall experience was great.

Nice clean quiet hotel close to most stuff in Duluth

We had the worst experience trying to check in with a confirmation number. The reservation was made a month before our arrival. After a long 12 hour drive and ready to relax, we are told there was no reservation and there are no rooms available. What??? Customer service was terrible in helping until we had to ask for help in finding another place. They put us in the La Quinta across the way which turned out to be awesome and more reasonable than the Holiday Inn Express! Go figure. Low and behold, we are charged at the Holiday Inn Express for a room we never stayed at because we had NO reservation. Ha! We had to contest the charges. Everyone, just confirm your stay prior to arrival. Didn't think we had to but lessons learned. I can't comment on any amenities or the rooms just the horrible customer service. Very sad.

The front desk clerk was courteous and sweet. She gave me the full layout of the hotel and told me how they are handling room cleaning with covid. She also let me know that the pool was open to guests and the number allowed in at a time.

Salt water pool, breakfast with lots of food, small store for snacks and supplies, nice outdoor seating with a fire pit. This place has everything and is very nice.

The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly, reasonably priced and the breakfast was good.

We stayed here the night of Thanksgiving. Everyone on staff from check in to check out were amazing and so friendly!! We will be back again and will highly recommend!!

Very clean, but that's about all there is to say about it. It's a hotel. But we were here the day after we got married and had the "do not disturb" sign on our handle all morning and the cleaning lady knocked loudly on the door 50 minutes before checkout and again 15 minutes before checkout. We weren't very happy to be rushed/ushered out of the hotel when we were well within the checkout rights and had a lot of stuff to pack. Also, the "pre-packaged" food in the morning for breakfast due to COVID is literally just the cereal boxes, muffins, and milk - maybe I was wrong to think there would be containers with eggs etc for us to grab. Pool is also quite small for the size of the hotel - was packed with screaming children at 9:15, pool closed at 10. One last thing - don't expect a phone charging cord for loan.

Overall, it's a hotel, and we had a mediocre stay.

Nice, new hotel. Far enough away from downtown to not worry about parking and traffic, but close enough to easily drive to, or Uber to, downtown.
