Many items are extremely overpriced in Holdridge True Value when you compare these same items to Home Depot, Loews etc. Why throw your money away??? Example: An assembled wheelbarrow purchased from Home Depot was about 40 percent cheaper than Holdridge True Value Hardware. I do not agree with the phrase "true value" when it comes to Holdridge-- this is simply not true. Items are cheaper in larger stores, also service is more efficient.

Always a good place to shop--helpful, knowledgeable staff and beautiful seasonal plants. A little on the pricey side -- sales helpful if you are on a budget.

Great place, the most helpful and friendly employees. Holdridge carries plants from CT farms, I bought some healthy and beautiful pots of blue salvia, bee balm and turtle heads for my hummingbird garden.

Holdrige s has a great selection of plants including some you cannot find at the big box stores with competitive prices. However, customer service is not their forte.
On my last two visits I asked about specific plants. I was told they were down the end of the aisle on the left. Not an acceptable response. After wandering a few minutes I asked again I was told to look at the tag on the plant for information.
On my most recent visit, with no help from employees, a pleasant woman who witnessed my frustrating lack of help from employees was kind enough to help me find the plants I was looking for.
I have received better service at the big box stores. Which is where I will take my business from now on.

Great selection of products. They have a good variety of grills and accessories for them. They good variety of items for mom or dad or that special someone inside and outside. Plants are very well kept and loved. They have good selection of paints and other products for your home. They also have a cool water features for a water garden! They have a much better variety of items than big box stores. I will definitely shop here again!

The butterfly release was great. We also went to the Christmas event and loved it. Had food and drawings. It was beautiful.
Now my granddaughter is doing the gardening class. She received gloves and a apron. Today was strawberries and they got to bring them home. Next week is cucumbers and the last week the kids will decide what they would like.

I m a new resident of the New London area and someone suggested Holdridge to buy seeds. However my experience was wonderful and I left with a lot more than just seeds. From the moment you walk in you re greeted, which is a nice feeling. Tim, an employee of Holdridge had a lot of knowledge from which types of seeds to buy from which company, to sowing and germination to transplanting. He showed me different methods, suggested different types of products and explained to me the importance of each step along the way. I will always be returning to Holdridge to make my garden grow.
