Food is bomb-diggidy! Their hoagies are always filling and they always hit the spot! Soup is delish too

What a fun place. Fresh real food. Great sandwiches.

All time favorite, a Northfield institution! I've been going to Hogan Bros for 20+ years and I have nothing but great things to say. Living over an hour away, we make it point to swing by any time we're close to town. Our kids love it too, so it's an easy sell when we want to make the trip.

Fast service and good food. Ice cream is some of the best I've had.

The sandwich was delicious and the atmosphere is great only drawback was the soup which wasn't very hot.

First time in to get a to go order- food was amazing, service was great, and very reasonably priced! Will definitely be back- dont let the fact its downtown scare you- parking right out front during supper time made it easy peasy lemon squeezy- we'll definitely return!

My wife and I stopped in here for some ice cream while making a pit stop in Northfield. It really it the spot, I would like to go back and try the hoagies and hang out for a bit. The staff was courteous even though it was a little busy. Definitely seems like a popular place!

First time ever visiting the hogan brothers hoagie restaurant, kind of disappointed in the payment system start out with. I just used my card and they ran it and it printed out a receipt for me to sign, and on the receipt it prompted for a tip as per usual. Now at this early in my visit, not having experienced the food nor experienced the service i didnt know what i should be tipping. Tipping usually is gratuity earned with good food and good service, not something thats expected right off the bat. So i tipped nothing, planning on giving a cash tip at the end. We came at busier time so i expected a wait, it wasnt horrible. Took just over 15 minutes to get the food, but it bothered me more when they brought our food out, they forgot the meat for the sandwhiches, you know the first ingredient on the menu when you order. So we had brought that to their attention and it kinda didnt seem like they cared that much, they fixed the problem, and apologized for the mistake, but it felt really insincere. 3 stars, because it wasnt horrible, but i wasnt really happy with my service.

Simple, unfussy, quality ingredients. Plus they have Lift Bridge root beer on tap!

Great tomato basil soup and tasty gluten-free wraps. Nice ambiance w/ mix of students, families, friends. Do wish they had salads with real greens....not just iceburg lettuce.

Service was uncomfortable and the food was mediocre. Felt like non of the staff really wanted to be there. I hadn't been in since the whole NOROVIRUS thing. I thought they would have gotten a new manager by now...guess not. Not the best choice to spend your money at.

A "must" stop if you are visiting Northfield. The hoagies are amazing!

Like many of the other reviews have said, the food was delicious but the customer service was horrible. The very first time I decided to try their food they were out of bread. A sandwich shop. Out of bread. The second time, there were four people on staff and about three customers in the restaurant. They still got both of our sandwiches wrong. They hire a lot of teenagers which is usually great if management knows how to handle them, but that is clearly not the case here.

For soup and/or a sandwich, it is great. It's open even when the temperature is -5. Their flat bread sandwiches are great; not as bready as a hoagie.

Great sandwich shop but with really good soups and with ice cream! Definitely try the chili or the beer cheese soup when you visit. The sandwiches are very good, and a third sandwich and a cup of soup is a pretty good meal. Decent beers on tap (not a huge selection available) and a very good selection of ice cream.

Thinking maybe flimsy soup spoons aren't the greatest choice for ice cream?
And packing an ice cream cone for a 5 year old may require a bit more finesse than setting a scoop on top of a cone?
Otherwise always a regular stop for our out of town family!

Combo with everything is amazing! Love buying day old bread as well and recreating our own.... But just not quite as good!

Food has great flavor however the portions are small.

Consistent and delicious. There aren't many places I'll pay 10 bucks for a sandwich. Bread is incredible. Vegetarian and vegan options. They even label soups :) sometimes the college kids are kind of bleh and the manager (at least I think she is) isn't particularly friendly. Luckily for them, this isn't a full service restaurant so deal with the rude lady and get your delicious sandwich. You have to stop here!

Pretty good, not great but good process and fast service make it a good lunch spot.

I would normally say no matter the wait or anything else i love this place. But when i go to an establishment that doesn't close for another 45mins to a hour i should not be denied soup. I was denied soup because the health department requries a certain amount of time and temp before you can properly store it. I completely understand this i have worked in kitchens for 15 years. But if that is the case if you pull it so it can cool then you shouldnt offer it after a certain time and it should be posted. But no its not and no i was not asked if i would mind it to be warmed up so it was at the proper temp to serve it. You warm the sandwiches in the microwave why couldnt you put the soup in there. But i was told there was nothing they could do. Considering my sister and i order from there on a weekly basis i guess it sucks but my business is better somewhere else apparently.

The Pitas and the Beer Cheese Soup are both to die for. Root beer on tap's pretty darn good, too!

Great sandwiches. Reminds me of Bo Diddleys from St. Cloud. Worth the wait if there is a line, which there usually is!

I won't patronize this place again. Loud with long long lines. We ordered two half sandwiches and two cups of soup at 1:55. At 2:30 I got back in line and finally got to the counter where I asked for my money back. The manager realized my order had never been put in motion, gave me a chirpy little "sorry about that," gave me my money back and I walked out. There was no action on the part of the manager to get me food, win my trust back, nothing. Hogan Brothers obviously doesn't give a darn about its customers or customer service.

It's a very classy and delicious place to eat and it's in the middle of an amazing town.

A staple of Northfield. Their sandwiches are superb and we'll portioned. Their soups, especially the beer cheese, are almost a requirement. And their ice cream is tasty and a single serving can easily serve two.

Two stars because it's really delicious... two times a year. Gets old fast, low quality ingredients, but at least the bread is tasty.

Was pretty meh. Sandwich tasted like subway pretty much and the chili was cold and rather bland.

Hogan Brothers is the essence of Northfield: wonderful and interesting and somewhat unchanging. I love this place, one of my favorite sandwich shops in the world.

Get a hoagie with everything and temperature hot. Amazing special sauce.
