Horrible experience. I had the worst service experience I've ever had at any dealership. Just moved to La Costa from out of state and had a Mercedes break recall to get fixed...always had my cars serviced at a Mercedes dealer. I called Hoen Mercedes and they said I would be provided a loaner car as a service. After work on Friday night ,which is the only time I could get to this, I get there with insurance and drivers licence in hand and the sales manager asks for my auto registration. MBUSA verified my registration over the phone, but I didn't have a copy of it. I went as far as offering the original purchase docs that were in the glove box as well as. The absurdly pampas and extremely rude sales manager comes out off his throne and office and states he's not going to give me a loaner because I had no registration for the benz I was leaving there to get fixed. I've never been asked to have registration to have a car repaired, even with getting a loaner. I asked how or what does registration of the repair car being left has anything to do with a loaner or add a liability? The Sales manager responded, "you have a $5000 car, I would never allow a $60,000 car when you leave a $5000 car here." you can leave your car to get fixed and uber or walk home. Then proceeded to ask in a very condescending way, "its been 5 years since you bought it why would you not have the registration?"
Since It was so important for him to know what I've been doing for 5 years, I let him know, because this Benz sits in the garage most of the time and I've not needed it because I drive another, and more importantly since my business is now apparently yours, I had two of my children that were almost killed while in and out hospital for the past five years that were recovering so I didn't have much time to deal with a sitting car. Needless to say, I took the car elsewhere.
All this insult for a loaner car for what wa a Mercedes break recall...
Chris Murphy, the General Manager and his smug response are the catalyst to this behavior. it's no wonder the 'sales manager' behaves that way. This behavior is endorsed by management here. It's everything one would hate about any luxury car dealership.
...I went to Escondido Mercedes...same scenario... had great service, added more maintenance for them to do, and had ZERO issues. Amazing what you get from one dealership to another. My car was fixed and back on the road again quickly without any issues.
Chris Murphy and his empty apologies would be fired if this dealerships ownership cared about how people are treated. Says a lot that they're still there.
I always have an positive experience when I bring my Mercedes in for servicing at Hoehn. I've had the same customer service person, Dan Reeves, for several years and Dan provides great support. It's nice to have continuity with the people you deal with when you get your car serviced. I was worried that I was going to have a buy an expensive headlight replacement because one of my headlights was cloudy. But Hoehn has a way of removing the milky film on headlights that works really well and makes them look like new. It was very reasonably priced also.
Make no mistake. This is the BEST Mercedes dealer hands down. My service adviser Greg is fantastic. Highly recommended!

Meh. Unimpressed and the morons didn't have any sprinter keys. They were locked in a room that they didn't have a key for. They also offered me water and then made me get it myself.
Eager to start shopping for my new Mercedes. Person at the reception desk stated that I needed to make an appointment, no can I help you, or perhaps let me get a sales person for you. Apparently this dealership does not need to provide any type of customer service and I should be grateful for their attention

My 2016 S550 coupe has now been with Hoehns service deartment for over a month and their attitude is "nothing we can do"!! They need to order a part in and not sure when it will be in - maybe end of August!!!! They do NOT return phone calls. They try feed me every line they can think of. I will never deal with Hoehn ever again. Next step is a lawyer as I am wasting my time dealing with them.
My service advisor Mike is always very professional and very courteous. Customer service is excellent and they are all very quick to resolve any issues. Thank you again to Mike for being friendly and having my car ready on time as promised...
My experience buying a car with Jeff Ho (Internet Sales) at Hoehn Mercedes was as smooth as possible! He did a great job finalizing all of the details and going through all of the features on my new car.
Well, very interesting experience. They had my car for 2 days, drained the battery, called me to get the manual key in order to get the car open and charge the battery. Then called me to tell me they do not feel safe driving the vehicle cause the breaks do not work as a new car breaks ( well, of course not, this not a brand new car), also the tires were worn out. So they would not even lift it up to inspect if anything was wrong with the body, the tie rods, the rotors, the breaks, etc. Told me I have to replace the calipers, the tires and may be they will look at it again. I am not sure what kind of shop they are running but It doesn't seem like they cared to look and help out with my issues. Otherwise very pleasant folks to deal with with - seemingly very scared for their lives ( to drive a car that does not stop like a brand new one) - I have kids that are scared of lots of things so I understand but I expected a different approach from a classy shop - not a kid response.
Would replace what they asked for and go back to see if they can actually figure anything out or keep coming up with other issues that I have to fix that make them really scared to drive the car :)

My car had wire harness being chewed out several times in the past two months, which is not covered by warranty. My service agent, Paul, helped to identify and fix the issue permanently in different ways very quickly. Even though I am a little bit of disappointed with the same issue happened again and again, I am happy and satisfied the services they provided. The car runs great so far. Will definitely go there for next service in the future.
My wife and went in to see the vehicle that was for sale. Ramona and Moe were excellent in thier customer service. It was a no pressure type of sale. Once we decided to go with the purchase, they had detailed the vehicle and fueled it up ready to cruise. When we came back on another occassion Moe was excellent in treating us as if we had known each other for a long time. We will definitely come back to Hoehn Motors when we are ready to make another purchase. I really like how they build on their relationships with thier customers to ensure a life long customer base.

Over the last 6 years, my car has been serviced at Hoehn MB in Carlsbad, and one might wonder as to why it s because they are exceptional!...hands down. I do not have a preference for any one particular advisor, they all are outstanding. They are professional, courteous and friendly with the added touch of making you feel important. To me, that speaks volumes that they take a vested interest in providing you with top-notch customer service. The great treatment does not stop with the service advisors, I have had conversations with the sales reps, cashiers, the parts department and they all have a genuine attitude that you, their customer receive the best. I have brought my cars to Hoehn MB Carbad a few times for schedule A & B service and a chance to meet and work with with Mike S., service advisor. He has been absolutely great ! Last week, I brought my ML in for oil leak inspection. To my surprise, the repair would cost me a lot $ but Mike was able to get MB to share 90% of the cost. I'm extremely happy and grateful for what he has done. His service is already exceeded my expectation. If MB has an award for service advisor of the year, I'd nominate him in a heartbeat, w/o any hesitation. He raised the bar and brought customer service beyond outstanding level. Thanks Mike !

Took my Mercedes in to get repaired and although the repair went fine they scratched my car and tried to cover it up with paint filler without telling me about it. This is completely unacceptable for them to try to hide their mistakes like this instead of being transparent and telling me about the damage. Obviously I will never come back here again.

Later this year I ll be in the market for a new Mercedes. As a Carlsbad resident, it would only make sense to do business locally because that is how I operate. In the meantime, I am currently shopping for a nice used car for our Nanny.
On March 10, 2016, I inquired via phone call about a used vehicle that I came across on the Internet. Long story short, I went to the dealership, drove the car, negotiated a price, and decided to purchase the vehicle.
I completed all the necessary paperwork to proceed with the purchase. At this time, my sales rep nice guy, and not to blame at all - informed me that the process would take at least one more hour to sign the purchase documents; there was a separate sale ahead of mine requiring the finance department s resources. The time was approximately 7:00PM and I needed to get home to my six-year old son.
Due to the additional time to consummate the deal that evening, the sales rep and I, collectively, made the decision to complete the transaction the next AM, Friday, March 11, 2016. We set an appointment for the morning.
They sold the vehicle later that night.
Couldn t the Hoehn team have simply called me to inform me of the situation? I get how business works; I have two finance degrees and I work with buyers and sellers every day in my profession.
In my opinion, this type of shenanigan, or lack of communication, or lack of systems, or lack of discipline, or lack of willingness to do right the right thing, are contributing factors to the used car salesman stereotype we often hear about in this industry.
Based on this shady experience, I cannot ever see myself buying a vehicle from Hoehn, ever. At 42, I have a lot of cars to buy going forward. It is too bad that people like my sales rep have to work for folks with such low integrity.

Several years ago we decided to purchase our next car from Hoehn Motors. We have now purchased two from Hoehn Motors, both Mercedes. General Manage Chris Murphy and sales associate Kristine Kaelin both times have been wonderful to work with. We were treated with respect each time and worked with our hectic schedule. Kristine was very patient with us as she explained the many new to us features. Our first car has been in for a couple of routine maintenance appointments and each time the car was ready when they said it would be. Yes, our next car will be from Hoehn Motors too.
Disgusted at the General manager here! He s a real D. Bag! I have had a HARASSMENT issue there by some fresh mouthed millennial in the Car Loaner dept. he was a typical, egotistical, snide millennial (that gives them a bad name! Not all like this!) i pay $$$$ for services, cars etc. HOHEN has VERY limited & unworkable CUSTOMER SVC. Hours! Seriously ! Carlsbad is ALWAYS a hot spot of Baaaad traffic - yet they close at 6 pm. Ahhh why? Not all of us can steal from our employers to sneak out to return a car for their Cushy hours!
I had NICE service writers- Paul is GREAT & only reason why i went back! However several times i had, as a last resort, FORCED to call the Mercedes Corp. in NJ. & Atlanta! Hohen Mercedes DOES NOT VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS
I ve had my Mercedes C 300 for four years and in that period of time I have had a problem with the trunk, ignition, and fuel pump. All of these were eventually fixed but all required at least two trips back to the service department to get the problem solved. I definitely will never buy another Mercedes at this dealership.

Took my car for a service here. Although my car was leased through a different dealership these guys took me in as one of their own. Took my vehicle in for a service and the customer care in that department is the best I ve seen, as for the sales guys, they are the worst. I went into the showroom since I m considering trading up, and the sales reps are really disrespectful. Be careful, don t want to have to buy something. One rep said as I was looking around. Will just end up going to a Mercedes dealer in another area when I decide to trade up.

Great Customer Service and amazing cars (plus special events)
I bought a Certified Pre-Owned 2014 Mercedes E-350 in August this year (2016). It was during one of their "clearance" sales. I walked in early on a Saturday or Sunday morning and was helped immediately. I traded -in my 2010 Lexus ES 350 for the "loaded" 2014 Mercedes E-350. Even though it had 36,000 miles, I thought they gave me a good price for the Mercedes and the trade-in of my 2010 Lexus. It was not great, but acceptable. I am not a haggler!
I got .98% financing from the San Diego County Credit Union.
While I think I could have found a better deal if I really wanted to drag the process out through multiple dealers and other brands, I ended up with the car of my dreams. And what is important is, is that it was painless, with no pressure, and the best tension-free car buying experience I have ever had.
When I got home with my new "used" car, I noticed that there were 2 chips in the windshield. I went back the next day. They looked at it and within 5 minutes said the would replace the windshield at their expense, which they did, at my home, within 3 days!
Now that, is the kind of customer service that is completely unexpected in today's environment! Thank you Hoehn Mercedes in Carlsbad!
I have met Reed Kaelin yesterday after talking to her about 2016 S-Class plug in hybrid. She is the best sales woman who I have ever met before. She explained throughly what we need and what we have to do. Finally, very windy outside, she came out and point out each and every button and function of the car for about 20 minutes after the light of the dealer was already off!
I have had a great experiance that car sale person could be like her. She has done and gave me exactly whta she told me before going there.

Dropped car off and had M. Schaeffer as a tech advisor. Apparently he thinks hes above communicating with the car owner before starting any work. Apparently he is also above leaving a voicemail on the car owners voicemail to give them the information they explicitly asked he give them before performing any work. He calls, doesnt leave a voicemail. Is called back not more than 1min after and he cannot be reached. The car ends up staying overnight because he refuses to
Communicate, and when the car is picked up not more than 2 hours go by when the same problem that originally prompted the visit starts again. If he had done his job and discussed the issue with the car owner he might not have been correcting the right issue. Now another day has to be taken out of ones week to coordinate around work & drop the car off again. Ive always been such an advocate of Carlsbad s service department often going far out of my way to come to this specific location even if it isn t convenient.
This location usually operates with no problems and im usually happy to recommend this location amongst all others. I have (2) mercedes cars and never had an issue till today, its really such a shame, this guys rogue personality is garbage.

I had a wonderful experience purchasing my C300 Cabriolet at Hoehn Motors with Paul M. Unlike Mercedes of San Diego, where I purchased my last car, Paul never pressured me, was honest the entire time and didn't try to swindle me with an over the top price that didn't make sense. In fact, Paul M. was a gentleman and fantastic salesman to work with. The entire experience was a complete 180 from Mercedes San Diego. At that place, they train their salesmen to tell you that they are taking a loss for the "great" deal you are getting. Meanwhile, I got a way better deal at Hoehn and they never once tried to make me feel bad about it or tell me that "they were taking a loss on it". I highly recommend Hoehn Motors and I look forward to getting more cars from them in the future!

As usual Hoehn Mercedes did it's outstanding job to correct a problem with my wife's car. We have been a customer of Hoehn for many years, and always have Paul Nelson as our Service Adviser, because he tells us what is wrong, and then keeps in contact to make sure we are in accord with his plan to correct the problem, as well as to advise us as to the status of the work.
When I drive out of the Hoehn lot with my recently repaired car, I feel very secure that the job has been done right, and with maximum concern for our safety.

In my 15 years of buying cars from Mercedes I've never had such a bad experience! After an email exchange when we showed up to see the car mid-day, they simply say we don't have time for you... Then the whole thing turns out to be a bait and switch as they didn't even have the car that shows in their inventory. Vas Chohan and the manager named Salgueiro I believe were not only dismissive but also aggressive in how they treat customers. My previous experiences with Fletcher Jones in OC has never been anything like this, they have tainted the Mercedes brand for me.
Salespeople were great, not pushy, and knew the cars inside and out. They got me a fair trade for my automobile, and I was in and out of there in less than two hours! Nice job Hohen Motors!
