Free WiFi. There is no e-bike charging station as such here, but you are allowed to plug your chargers into any socket in the large lobby. There s also a small bistro there. The building is also open outside the opening hours of the tourist office.
Great leisure activities and a beautiful landscape! Here are a few pictures from Lenzkirch to Stegen. Unfortunately, the pictures were only possible from the moving vehicle. Nevertheless, one can recognize the beautiful area.
Hinterzarten is a small, tranquil place in the Black Forest. Well developed for tourism, there are many opportunities for passive and active recreation. There is also a lot to offer on the culinary side. A special recommendation for active people is the circular hiking trail from Hinterzarten via the Ravenna Gorge and back. Here you go past historic sawmills, waterfalls to romantic gorges through rustic forests.
The Hochschwarzwaldstrasse is worth a visit. It offers a variety of hiking opportunities and relaxation, the landscapes and moorland are worth seeing. The recreational value is very beautiful the views in the various More
Black Forest is always beautiful.
Hinterzarten always adventurous for children through the nature park, feeding the squirrels, barefoot path and guesswork, exploring trees and everywhere streams and bridges. Playgrounds, meadows.
A stay in Hinterzarten would be even better if this organization did not constantly occupy a charging spot at the Hinterzarten train station with their rental car.
The rental car, an electric BMW i3, must be returned to that place by a renter. According to the sign present, parking is allowed on that PUBLIC place for a MAXIMUM of 4 hours.
However, the car is not looked after, so that it sometimes occupies a charging spot for 2 DAYS!
As a result, the operator of the charging station misses out on income and potential visitors to the local catering industry go elsewhere.
On our Black Forest trip this was also a point, unfortunately not so great. We were a mixed group.
We were very kindly advised by an employee and then ran the elf path with our 2 children. The Wichtelpfad is great for children from 2 years and starts right behind the Kurhaus. You just have to keep following the little elf symbols. On the way you also pass a large and fairly new playground. There is even a variant that you can do with prams. There is a map in the Tourist Info.
Unfortunately, on 23.12.2018 we had a very significant, negative experience with this company (this is related to: torchlight hike Ravenna gorge).
Unfortunately, the weather conditions on that day were so bad that the German meteorological service had issued an official warning against persistent heavy rain and gale-force wind gusts.
The day at Schluchsee and Titisee was then so bad weather that hardly anyone was out there - then also carrying a torch in front of him, seemed like a very daring venture (also on the radio was the whole day from bad weather in the Hochschwarzwald region warned).
Nevertheless, we set off for Hinterzarten on this day, as there is no possibility to get in contact with this organizer especially at the weekend.
At this point it should be mentioned that you should allow enough time to find a free parking space (or at least a place where you can park your car).
The meeting point for the tour is at the Kurhaus in Hinterzarten.
In this case, unfortunately, not really optimal, as exactly there is the departure point for the shuttle to the Christmas market in the Ravenna gorge. Accordingly, there is of course a veritable rush to the existing (paid!) Parking.
So much for the frame operations in advance - now to the actual "service to the customer":
Honestly - I can not remember the last time I was met with such a rude and arrogant nature.
I had briefly tried to explain the situation (third person could not attend because just recovered from illness / mentioned the 2 weather warnings of the German Weather Service - the prevailing weather was obvious) and had asked if you could do something there.
The answer was very jagged and very harsh (from a middle-aged man): that would be bad luck, because you could not do anything, the tour takes place and we would waste their time, we should go (accompanied by a very repellent, jigsaw gesture) ,
The lady who stood next to it said quite dry: there are no gale gusts!
After this announcement I was so startled that I did not reply and we left. Making a drama on the spot would not have helped anyone.
From what I have heard in hindsight, the unfriendly behavior seems to be no rarity and all tours of the organizer under almost any conditions to be "beaten".
The group sizes, which are "smuggled" to the Christmas market, probably amount to about 40 men.
Actually one should expect of such organizers that a consideration of appropriate weather warnings is obligatory for them.
Included services:
- Return by shuttle bus to Hinterzarten train station
As a layman, I would not presume to rate that, but perhaps this is already under "unfair competition," if you advertise with services that are not even provided (the entire shuttle bus transfer namely for the public at no cost posed).
0 Tolerance / goodwill is one thing, but how to convey that is another whole thing.
Originally we had to book one of the numerous snowshoe hikes that are on offer at this company - after this experience we are absolutely served in this regard.
Obviously, one seems to have only the maximum profit in view - no matter what the price!
Playroom is used as a lumber room and is closed until the end of the year due to renovations, there would have been another option. No more events for children in Hinterzarten (no gold mining, etc. as before). For this very great offers from Breitnau with very nice support.
