I was so sad to hear HMV in Oxford Street has now closed down. Where are we meant to go to buy CD's and DVD's now? Not online that's for sure.

You found music and movies in an incredible variety. T-shirts can be purchased too. The amount of vinyls is very good, at London prices.

Yeah the mothership of record stores second only to defunct virgin megastores. Could do with more niche titles but great selection.

Great selection of various blurays, DVDs, also animes, but rather pricey. Would suggest to first check out Forbidden Planet before visiting hmv for anime stuff. Still, a great shop for music and movies, and probably the biggest store of this kind in London.

Size selection also in technology and merchandising, but also a lot of space is artificially occupied by CD's and DVDs are simply distributed in width.
It is still worth a look.

Wonderful shop in the heart of London, full of books, CDs, Vinyls, memorabilia and many more. Some things are cheap and some others may be expensive like the vinyls because they are brand new. They should also sell used or second hand CDs and records like HMV Tokyo. If you are a music lover this shop is a must.

Fantastic store. Everything you want with a great range, especially in vinyl. Friendly and knowledgable staff to boot.

Nice big music shop. Unfortunately, everything it sells, is far cheaper online eg. at Amazon. But it's good for browsing. Its much more fun looking at things in a real shop, compared to looking online. They do a loyalty card, but all you get are points for entering into competitions (raffles). Staff are nice. Atmosphere is nice.

It has everything but is cluttered. This means it is almost single aisle everywhere so it us hard to get about. Couple that with its tourist shopping location makes it a flagship, historical store that has seen better days.

Favourite HMV Store. Especially if you live DVDs huge range of selections. Lots of Posters of pop culture regularly updated. Great staff and Fun atmosphere.

Up at Oxford street shopping. And met up with friends. A great time haveing lunch at an Italian restaurant.

Good selection of dvds. And cds a bit cramped though.

Recommended for those who like British music! It is a store that handles CDs, DVDs, books related to pop, band T-shirts, etc. (^^)

Super store! Went in Glasgow to Iron Maiden concert yesterday, went to this store and yesss they still records and cd's, i can fill up my records again!!

I have been coming to London for years and this is the best place for music, dvds and books. NO comparison to the older Tower Music that used to be at Piccadilly Circus when I was a boy. In the heart of London--there is no better place.

London's last large music shop. Not what it was, but better than nothing. Staff helpful but not knowledgeable.

Great selection. Even though it's not as big as the old shop used to be, the amount of choice is fantastic. Always has good offers and prices are decent. Cds, dvds, books, graphic novels, t-shirts and other kinds of merch. If you're looking for something, they'll more than likely have it, or will order it if possible.

Hmv is a cave of treasures and interesting unexpected findings. A library of film and musical culture for all tastes i can only find in a very narrow and guided or misguided automated inferences on internet.

Fantastic store witch a huge range of products. There are videogames, vinyl records, CDs, movies, posters and different merchandise from different TV-series, movies, artists and videogames. The store was also very structurized and organized. The staff and service was also very good.

Service was excellent, when quizzed about products the response was helpful and showed that the assistant was up to date with information. I will be going there again

Good shop for music and pop vinyls easy to find items

This flagship store could and should be so much more. But you will find surprisingly little odd, rare, 2nd hand or eclectic in here, just even more focus on the lowest popular denominator - a race to the bottom of the market that online retailers will probably win...

A very well stocked record shop, both vinyls and CDs, well-stocked even on books, those who love music must go through this

Shop with CDs of all tastes but above all one of the few survivors with still a wide choice of vinyls, a fixed stop when understood in London also for limited editions made especially for hmv, the shop also sells a choice of DVDs, blue ray discs and videogames.

Not many shops selling cds nowadays. I think this must be the only one left.

HMV is an institution this is a little bit touristic but got a lot of great records for good price

Shop dedicated to music, infinite cds of all kinds of music. It also sells LP, t-shirts and dvds. Pay attention to the promotions and always try to carry an ecobag for the purchases, since the Londoners do not usually give plastic bags

A candy shop for people who still cherish hard copies of movies and music. A brand we grew up with.

HMV disputes were once probably three on Oxford St. the ass section I'm interested in does not stop, but something will always go there.
