Great experience pulling in to Faslane, the people are very friendly and helpful, the scenery is amazing.
The food is great. Felt very secure inside and the thermonuclear wepons keep the night chills away
Top place. The lads and lasses are a great craic. Particularly enjoyed playing with the thermonuclear weapons.
Let's face it, it's a base primarily for nuclear submarines armed with missiles seventy percent of people in Scotland don't want and it's in Scotland. That's why it's getting three stars. Nuclear weapons make us a target, and if you think otherwise is true you need to look up Mutually Assured Destruction and realise that the flaw in that is that it only takes one nuclear armed state to lose the plot and MAD fails instantly.
Facilities, not bad back when I was there several years ago and doubtless improved; you've got to give the English lads something to occupy themselves indoors out of the way of all those midgies.
Pity about the nuclear subs. No problem with the minehunters and patrol boats; no one ever got irradiated by one of those.
The reviews for Faslane are either criticisms of Trident, or jokes about how nukes keep the place warm. as someone who has been inside twice, the subs are really cool and it has a basic but useable cinema and bowling alley (if it isn't broken) although I have never been there (the bowling alley) as it was on fire.
It is like a small city filled with engineers for the most deadly weapons in history and trained killers whose job it is to protect them.
Sailed past and got a personal escort. Very thoughtful.
The royal navy really should move to a 24 hour nuclear deterrent. What if Putin decided to attack Britain at 18.00 on a Saturday?
Haven't experienced WiFi this bad since 2003, has a naffi that has rubbish working hours for the fact 95% of the time, people are working the same hours.
Buses never stick to schedules which makes it a nightmare.
Bars smoking area is about a 5 minute walk away.
Most places on base don't take card, most cashpoints empty pretty quickly.
24 Hour nuclear deterrence 365 days a year! And it s totally legal too. Technically a sovereign area so it s not part of Scotland (if required) Everyone loves this place, it gives the liberal people something to complain about! It supports the local towns who would collapse without it. Ray, and Mr Irving it s not going anywhere so learn to enjoy!
Stayed in a cottage near by.. Police boats patrolling the waters... You feel safe...
Best reviews on the Internet. Beats the other reviews for that one Indian restaurant where the owner called the reviewer ugly.
Please send nukes. ;)
It's a gothic monstrosity. It's a gothic monstrosity.
Disgusting waste of public taxpayers money. Also illegal.... No place for this vanity project...
So fun they let me drive one of their submarines despite I did not have a chance to fire a nuclear warhead due to long queues
Selling info on Astute class submarines. Any Russians, Chinese or North Koreans interested?
Fantastic place ...breathtaking scenery ..and of course helping to protect the UK ( including all it's naive whinging socialist losers) safe from mischief making Putin and his chronically economically underachieving nation.
Lovely scenery, great staff and the lovley feeling of knowing if one b*llbag makes a slight error I wouldn't even know about it.
historic place. go to uk, but do not go to london. go to faslane!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic stuff, looking forward to seeing the new Dreadnought class subs sometime in the future. This location is somewhere for the libtards and other far left moaners to proclaim a waste of money, but forget the income generated locally from workers, crews, support staff and such massively help the local economy which would collapse without it.
Excellent place, providing security not only for the United Kingdom and her allies, but the 4000 strong workforce and the Scottish economy in general.
Fantastic we should have have more of these bases and ballistic missile submarines. Our taxes are being spent well
Great base, food is varied and tasty, with a fantastic shop too! Cinema once or twice a week and a bowling alley to be opened soon! Only problem is how far away it is from anything else, although you can get almost everything you need on base.
More useful and better looking than the the Peace camp that neighbours it.
