Always love coming here with my school to see really awesome shows!

We have been to several plays at the History Theater over the years. Each of them have been excellent. Never had a disappointing experience.

The plays help me understand Minnesota History much better. The Productions are outstanding with extremely wonderful choreography, costuming, the stage sets, and best of all, the dancing, acting, and singing.

Wonderful little theater, great staff. Fantastic performers.

Creative, innovative, thoughtful, delightful plays in a thrust theatre setting. Reasonable pricing and season ticket options. If it's raw stages season, treat yourself!

History Theater Rocks
We have been to shows at the History Theater several times and have been impressed each time. Most recently was Teen Idol: the Bobby Vee story. This was s really fun show for all ages and the music & singing we're very good.

A cozy venue for the play Glensheen. A delightful experience!

This is a great hidden gem! I had never even known this was downtown and the show I saw, Superman becomes Lois Lane, was amazing! The venue is great, the seats are comfortable, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. There was a nice bar available before the show and drinks were allowed in the theater as well, which is nice.

This year's performance of Glensheen was the second time I've seen it and it has been a great experience each time. Great date night or family outing option. Make sure to visit the many restaurants nearby for a meal before hand.

Dance til you drop. No audience participation required. Thank God

Small but mighty. "Highway men"; the story of Rondo neighborhood's struggle to survive during the construction of the I-94 gave me new appreciation for the I-94, but, mostly it opened a window into the history of Saint Paul. Great venue!

Nice theater once you find it. Followed directions on Google but very poorly signed on the outside of the building and actually is located inside another building that isn't related. But the performance of Orphan Train was enjoyable, educational and well done.

Nice theater. Good acoustics. Look forward to going to another play.

They always have excellent productions, all based somehow on the true history of Minnesota. The latest show Lord Gorden Gorden was hilarious and also historically factual! Wonderful use of the set and props!

History Theatre takes our local history and turns it into an entertaining and educational show. Subjects I think I couldn't care less about becomes something that I crave more information on.
I highly recommend that anyone check this place out. The box office staff are friendly and helpful.

One of the few established theaters in the Twin Cities that consistently produces high quality and engaging new work.

I enjoy attending live events here, particularly live theatre-plays, musicals. This was a first time for a concert. Really nice venue with reasonable pricing. Shows have a historical bent which contributes to my enjoyment.

offda, those seats are tight, but Glensheen the musical was AMAZING!!!! SO AWESOME!!! Please bring the show to Duluth.

Stewardess! was excellent. The story of Mn ar Pat Laffey and all the other stewardesses needed to be told.

Every show has been fantastic. Glensheen was my favorite.

Popular performances brought back. Nice voice song and dance.

Just saw "The Highway Men", well done and thought provoking!

The performance of Glensheen is fabulous. The after intermission act is especially well performed. Polished cast.

It was delightful. All seats are good viewing and accoustics are wonderful.

Loved this place. Nearby parking, drinks animate in love area, very nice theatre area.

Thank you History Theatre for bringing Minnesota story's to light. Makes a lifelong Minnesotan feel even more proud of our great state.

History Theatre is a wonderful venue with great views of the stage, helpful staff at a reasonable price.

My wife, son and I saw 'Superman becomes Lois Lane' as part of the Herstory Theatre event. This play was amazing. The courage, strength and fortitude Suzanne Kimberly had/has is inspiring.

The amazing experience of this event in this theatre will bring us back in the future.

Interesting and entertaining to learn more about Minnesota

Great shows, fantastic acting. Saw Glensheen, reality is sometimes better than fiction. You can't make this stuff up.

The balcony can get incredibly hot. Be prepared to sweat if you're sitting near the top.

This is a wonderful place. The drama was first- rate, and seating and other accommodations were good.

We really enjoyed the Glensheen musical. It tells the the story of the murders in a unique and engaging way, with plenty of humor.

I grew up attending plays here and always enjoyed this smaller theater and the affordable prices.

Michelle was terrific! The seats were miserable. Then we're extremely narrow and throws were closely packed together. Worse than most discount airlines. In reality I was in pain the entire performance until I decided to sit on the steps.

Teen Idol was the best. Been coming here for years and always have a great time.

Small but comfortable theatre, friendly staff. We saw coco's diary which was excellent.

Amazing theatre. Saw some great Jazz performed by JazzMN and some McNally-Smith College jazz combos.

Gloria, A Life is a must see!! Its wonderful history and truly thought provoking. Excellent!

Fantastic performances of Dirty Business. True story.

Saw "Dirty Business." Great historical musical. Every show I've seen there has been superb!

This theater is a little more intimate. Every seat is front row. I've been here twice and each time the show has been fantastic. Very professional staff. All the amenities of the big theaters.

Didn't know how to find theatre. Google directions were wrong, made me late for the show. Bunch of vagrants outside panhandling afterwards somewhat disturbing. Too many predators you wonder if they may rob you.

A wonderfully crafted artistic experience! I have attended performances at the History Theater multiple times, and the performances are always engaging and educational. Would definitely recommend!

The history theater in downtown St Paul typically shows plays that center around Minnesota History. You can find some gems here that will discover and showcase Minnesota History and learn a little bit more about our great state then perhaps you already know. Typically the plays are wonderfully performed and informative. I've only been to one that was a stinker. :-)

Always interesting and sometimes challenging presentations, well performed!

Such an amazing place! Love their shows. And I love that they are historical and not just fiction. Superman Becomes Loids Lane was phenomenal!

This is fun theatre if you like local and regional stories and history. The stories are about real people in the Region but often have a universal theme and storyline. It is highly recommended.

Intimate theater. All seats are pretty good. Perhaps avoid the balcony near stage front as the lines can be limited.
Performances are based on actual Minnesota historical events/persons.
The local nature of the productions means the audience is knowledgeable and engaged.
Reccomend this experience.

They have a really great setup. Easy to get to from 35E. Great staff on the evening/event I attended

Support local arts and historical storytelling by attending just one performance here. Then you'll be going to another, and another, and another...

I always enjoy the History Theatre but this particular play was not as interesting as most. The acting was good but the story moved a little slow.

Really good plays, but the seats are horrible. No leg room and not wide enough.

Great show "Teen Idol" about Bobby Vee. There are 22 cast members and music all through the show. Excellent show.
