Loud..! Beer gardens pretty but roped off for private all the time

Good beer selection. Interesting venue. Looks like a country club from the outside, like a German beer hall from the inside, and a dance club with the DJ. Despite its identity crisis, the beer was fantastic.

It's a good location with 40 amazing taps of local and sought after crafts beers. There is a developing growing outdoors and beer garden cafeteria style seating indoors. There is also zuppardis pizza and a bratwurst food option in house. Two parking sites with staff in lot to assist.

Very spacious beer garden offering a pretty good selection of different beers, wine and a full bar as well. The two restaurant options inside are a great addition with lots of menu options. The outside game area, gazebo and seating areas are a great change of scenery to sitting inside.

Great place to go have good beer and watch sports. Great for events and gatherings. The pizza there is absolutely phenomenal and it really blends well with the beer they have. It can get a little crowded at times but you can't expect anything else from a place as big as this. They also have a coat rack (which is really ingenious) and a little merchandise booth in case you want to buy a THC t-shirt or hat. Would definitely go again!

Nice atmosphere, good beer selection. It's a little pricey but the food is okay. They offer Zuppardi's pizza and other menu items: bratwurst, wings, nachos, etc. Staff is friendly. It's a good option for grabbing a beer, a snack, and socializing; they have some games and large seating area.

So great! Laid-back, counter service type place. They have a ton of craft beer on tap, as well as wine and cocktails! On tap! And Zuppardi's has a stall in there, we didn't eat there but I've eaten at their place in West Haven and they have bomb-ass pizza. We ate at the BBQ stall instead and it was the best BBQ I've ever had. Slow smoked ribs and chicken wings done right. I worked at a BBQ joint in Georgia, I know my BBQ. This was top notch.

The Hops Company has is the perfect spot with an open welcoming atmosphere and excellent service. I have had small birthday gatherings there multiple times, and the staff has been so accommodating. The entertainment on the weekends is never boring and the beer selection is amazing. THC is one of the best bars in the Greater New Haven area!

We love THC , it's a great place to have a drink or two, play Jenga, listen to music, play other games. The pizza is really good and then top it off with a cannoli.. can get noisy inside but the outside area is nice,

This place is RAD. Capitalizing on the cannabis reference, THC actually is just a fantastic beer hall/garden with a ton of open seating and some really terrific food (the pizza is killer). It gets a little packed on the weekends, especially the evenings, so plan to get there early and secure a seat. This place also offers some great private event options for weddings and such. Pro tip: Parking is tight and it's a little remote, so Uber/Lyft is a good plan.

it is a nice beer garden with a large open space. There is plenty of seeding and the beer selection is large. They focus on a lot of local quality craft brews. There is food available on site from third party vendors. I believe they allow outside food as well. They will reserve areas for private parties.

So much space, and each area is different. Dart boards, corn hole, fire pits, beer garden. They have a pretty limited food menu, but what they do have of pretty good. A DJ after hours is a nice touch. Overall, a fun place to get together with a group, but definitely not date night material.

Best beer bar in CT! Huge selection of beer. Wine and a few mixed drinks on tap also. Good food options. A large outdoor area with newly installed gas fire pits. There are board games available behind the bar, darts, giant jenga and foosball. Great for birthday parties, happy hours, etc. Family friendly!

Good selection of beer on tap. My biggest issue is that children are allowed in the facility, not in the bar area. Having raised my kids I want to go out to an adult place and not listen to them or have them running around. Please get a sitter.

Bartenders are superbly efficient; unfortunately the music turns clubby after 10, but I imagine some people like that.

Had a surprise wedding for our family and friends here. Anna Morale and the entire family/staff were being helpful in helping up out this off. They captured our vision, setup, and made ito day perfect!

This place just doesn't get the whole idea of introducing great beer to beer lovers. This was our 2nd time visiting T.H.C in Derby after the 1st let down visit. They Absolutely will NOT let you sample taste a beer that you have an interest in but you might not want to spend $7.00 or so dollars on and end up hating it. Their answer to not letting you taste it is "we offer flights that you can purchase in a rack of 4 for $12.00 ! " That makes 16oz of beer a whopping $12.00 !! The 1st time my wife reluctantly went with a flight rack of 4 different beers ...she hated 3 of them. That was a nice waste of money. We left and did not go back for almost one year. Recently someone told us that they (T.H.C.) stopped the policy of NOT letting people sample before they spend money , so we went back to give it another try with 4 of our friends on their way to meet us there. As soon as we walked up to the bar we saw 2or3 beers that we have never tried, so I asked if I could taste one of them. The bartender stated " no I'm sorry we do not give taste samples,but we sell flights." We ordered one beer each, called our friends immediately to tell them that we will be meeting them somewhere more friendly and accommodating to beer enthusiasts ! Our friends never heard of a beer bar with a large selection that refused to allow a sample of 2 to 3 OUNCES to be tasted before wasting money on a beer that you might just hate. I only live 5 miles from The Hops Company but I can NOT see any of us ever wanting to go back, there are far too many Great bars and Breweries in the area to be treated like we have been at The Hops Company in Derby, Ct

This place is fun. Communal seating counter service. The beer selection is above average, they had a couple of things that you don't see often. Two choices for food: pizza and barbecue. The pizza is good, the barbecue just okay. I had ribs and they were fall off the bone tender, but lacking in flavor. The pizza is standard fare for the area, thin, crispy crust. Not the best pizza in the area, but not bad either.

Was there for Halloween party nice ambience but the DJ was average and the drinks were watered down

Are you kidding me? $15 dollars per person cover on a Sunday afternoon. What is this? I have come here before and was never charged a cover, even on a Saturday night. They have lost a customer. I will never come back with this cover fee. I just wanted a beer and some food.

Was asked by a manager to get my 2yr old son under control cause him and other kids were running around being kids in the big open space. The kids were socializing with all the people in the place with no problems. Dancing to the music and just being kids. When I asked the manager what she meant by under control she told me if you can t keep him with in arms length she was gonna ask me to leave. I told her I would leave with out being asked but still had questions on why. Another customer then proceeded to walk past the manager and get in my face and tell me this is not a airplane and pushed me and told me you go. I then asked the manager who this gentleman was and what she was going to do about him pushing me. She then asked me to leave. I left with me family and told them I will let everyone know that they are not a kid friendly environment and don t care about the safety of there customers. Worst customer service I have ever experienced

My first time here a few months ago was really nice. It was nice weather and the seating area was open since the garage doors were up so it was also very scenic and comfortable looking outside. The nachos were really good.

Went here again recently with a friend and it was packed but we still got served and my buddy seemed content with his drink. Would visit again.

Beer + atmosphere, The Hops Co got it right. No place in CT like this! Spacious. Selection. And a waterfall. Global warming means longer summers so get your beer flight and come relax in this garden.

Great atmosphere and selection of beers. They do have a full bar as well if you don't like beer. They offer two types of food, pizza or BBQ and both are delicious. They have Cornhole outside and a wonderful outside area to hang out in. Great for groups, the whole place is beer garden style with huge tables. Completely recommend hanging out here.

This is a good place for younger people. The place is filled with picnic tables. Not a very good bar menu for non beer drinkers. The food was O.K.

Great personal sized pizzas and open atmosphere. Anyone who comes here is looking to have a good time and just talk. There is regularly live music from people who liven up the already lively area. The who area is like a bar, but much more open. The area almost feels like somewhere that would be rented out for a family reunion, but only your favorite relatives show up and have a great time.

Place is huge! Great food, awesome atmosphere, good beer selection. The parking is a problem due to the large crowds and I actually do wish they had MORE beer available, but still a great place.

Tons of beer to try. Very large space with seating both indoor and outdoor. They also have games behind the bar to play.

I always have the best time here! There s a very large selection of rotating beers, something for everyone and every mood! For those who don t like beer, they also have wine and cocktails. There is also ample indoor and outdoor seating - the fire pits are a nice touch.

They have great beer and big juicy sausages that make my insides feel good.

Let me preface, I do not ever write reviews. However, as a paralegal and advocacy worker, I have no choice but to share my story regarding this awful establishment.
I was offended and quite disturbed last night, and how I was treated by the staff. After weeks of being intermittently bed ridden due to a horrible Lyme diagnosis, I was out to celebrate a friend s birthday last night.
Alternating my drinks (two beers- two vodka sodas) with water, and plenty of
Food, I proceeded to go up and order another drink. Just to be told by the bartender (male, pretentious hipster looking guy with glasses) whom stated, we can t serve you anymore no explanation, other than you ve been drinking awhile (no more than anyone else in the rest of my party) To add salt to the wound, I overheard him and the female bartender (short blonde hair) laughing at how my face looked and shoving a water towards me as they proceeded to serve everyone around me and ignore my attempts to speak.
I was absolutely horrified. I will be speaking at many Lyme conventions in the near future around connecticut and will make sure to mention this story, and bring light to this establishment. Discrimination is never okay.

Bartender was inattentive, got our order wrong. The DJ played music crazy loud and in very strange mixes, barely half of a song played before it blended into another song that didn't flow very well. An overall odd experience. Great selection tho!

Went for happy hour, No happy hour...Would have been better if the website had said so and you pay a 15$ cover for a free drink with Very limited menu...60$ blown at the door for 4 beers left before trivia, nice scenery..wouldn t go back due to the ripoff at the door

Great large place to gather with friends and either sit or stand inside or outside while enjoying a variety of drinks. My only gripe would be that I didn't see any vegan food options. And parking is a bit of a nightmare even during slower times. They do the best they can with the addition of a second parking lot, though.
