This place should not even be called a hospital it's a damn joke they lie to you wont help you and kidnap people against there will just out of spite they don't deserve to be in business.i or my family will never step foot in it again. Especially the so called special care unit the nurses are terribly mean and rude.
Went to this place of business because of a blinding migraine that I had for several days. (My friend drove me, btw). I was treated like a second class citizen, was given a prescription for an over-the-counter medicine that cost $10. It was a standard headache medicine called percogesic, not a migraine medicine. It does help with cramps if I should ever develop menstrual cramps. Good show doctor! I told the doctor I did not want opioids and I was not on opioids. So there was no reason for him not to write something like maxalt, which helps with my migraines. I was in so much pain I was practically begging for mercy and I got none - nada, zip, zilch.
Released my medical information to a 3rd party without my consent. Male doctor had long, dirty hair and appeared overall extremely disheveled and smelled strongly of body odor and alcohol. Was absolutely shocked and appalled by the unprofessionalism. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

I waited nine hours only to have a doctor step in and tell me that he did not know how to treat me (I was having vertigo). It took him all of three minutes to tell me this. For this, the hospital charged me $1,800. As if that were not outrageous enough, after I paid the hospital, the doctor sent me a separate bill for another $1,200. No one, not the hospital nor the collection agency will give me a phone number or an address for the doctor. No one has been able to give me any detail regarding what this doctor's bill is for. I will not pay it and I will never set foot in that rat-hole again. By the way, why do I have to give any stars in order to post this?
Still sitting in this waiting room got here at 12 it is now 2a.m. my fiance has a bad ankle and needs some kind of brace or boot I haven't seen or heard of such a wait for a X-ray and I know we are going to get a 1,800 bill for this awful service I'll let them take me to court before I ever pay a penny in this dog pound of a hospital
I worked here for about 6 months hoping to work closer to home . I reported almost every day that I worked , out of date food being left in patient pantry s on each floor as well as molded food being found in the kitchen and refrigerator from being inappropriately stored and labeled and was being served to the patient s ( yes I found mold several times on rolls or cornbread that was on the line being put on plates ) They are supposed to cook new bread everyday , they do not . . And bc of my constant reporting (complaining as the manager calls it ) I was shifted around constantly from area to area so I wouldn t continue to report these issues ,instead of reprimands being written up . yet in every new area I would find the same issues , the manager finally stuck me out front so I d be out of the kitchen and off the line . Yet I found the same issues .. English muffins out front in the dining area being served that were 3 months out of date . Food being recycled more times than is allowed . ( some stuff they put on the lunch line out front , they told you not to get that for your lunch , it s ify , but the manager won t let us throw it out ) yet it was put out on the lunch menu . For visitors and staff to eat . I wrote report after report to the manager of the kitchen , I reported any issues I found in daily logs to make a record of the concerns as well as to the company manager which fell on deaf ears . The state came in to do their yearly check , and the cafeteria FAILED for everything I had been reporting for mouths , the rating they got is specified as ( has the potential to contaminate a large group of people) . When I talked to the manager about the score , and hoped the concerns would be taken seriously FINALLY!! I was told that they make to much money for the hospital and there s no way they would loose their contract no matter what there score was . Needless to say I Quit and will never take my family there . The manager probably thought I was over stepping or trying to take her job which I wasn t . There isn t room for this kind of nonsense in the food industry. These poor patients are already behind the eight ball just from being in the hospital for and injury or illness. And these people don t care to feed them contaminated food .

Ignored all my questions, were completely rude to me, and left her without any supervision for hours. THE STAFF IS CLEARLY IGNORANT AND UNEDUCATED and does NOT care about any patient in their ER. Went in with a broken collarbone. Took 4 hours and my dad coming in in full uniform before they even tried to see me. Everyone is rude and doesn t care about their patients. All they want is money. Don t go here. I m never going back. This place should get shut down. It s horrible
Do not use address 380 woods cove Rd. 205 parks Ave will work much better. I notified hospital of the error and duplicate addresses.
I could only give them a 1 star if I had the option to go lower I would. I took my spouse here because her blood pressure was high. They gave her a dose of meds to bring it down which it came down some. Gave her more of the same meds to bring it down more. This whole time we were telling them that her BP is never in the normal range. They gave her a pill to help get it lower. It get to a good range for her. And she was feeling a lot better. Next thing they came back in and gave her more of the first meds. Her BP got to like 122/69. So they released her. We got home and her BP bottomed out and she passed out. I called the ambulance so now we are in Huntsville Hospital. Huntsville is trying to find out why it all started.

How can this hospital still be in business? Avoid at all cost. Go to Huntsville or Chattanooga if at all possible.
My two year old son had a bleeding head wound. Had to stop the bleeding myslef, and then wait four hours to be seen. We got up and left to go somewhere else.

Worst hospital I've even been to. The doctor who was in charge of seeing my mother for a possible ruptured hernia took hours to get there, then while explaining her condition to me and my family HE TOOK A PERSONAL CALL ABOUT A DAMN HUNTING TRIP...it took everything in me not to punch him in the face. Horrible place. Also, I had a miscarriage about 10 years ago, and instead of explaining what was happening to me they gave me a PAMPHLET on miscarriages. Come on people. This place needs shut down.

Just had our second son here and the staff were great. The facilities are a little run down but they took good care of us and our newborn.
My dad had surgery there today and they were great. His surgery was set for 10 am and we were home but 2 pm. Everyone was so friendly.
I have been seen in the Emergency Room a few times and was also an inpatient before being transferred. While the hospital was a little bit out of date concerning technology the staff was always very friendly and helpful and willing to do anything they could to make the stay as well as the transfer easy for me. I would definitely continue to be seen here.
Set at higlands medical center for 3 hours cause they don't have an open bed waiting to find out if I've got a kidney stone or appendicitis. Get up n go look n they have four empty beds that nobody's been in! Told them when i got there idc how long it takes but i need to lay down. Its the only relief i get. Cut my bracelet off n left

Went to Radiology to have an xray done . Got there at 1038 told the lady what I was there for she told me I needed to sign in no slips on the sign in paper so she gave me another one to sign she knew I was there and an hr later and two people was seen before me that came in after me I walked up and ask her was there a reason I hadn't been seen yet . She ask me if I signed in now remind you she already knew I did then she says there's no fax from my dr I gave her the number to call my dr she calls says she can't reach anyone. I ask her if she pressed 1 she said I told her I'd call . I stepped outside called my dr pressed 1 and got an answer I was livid and I left told my dr to send me somewhere else . Highlands is a joke .

I took my mother her because she had a hard time breathing a metal taste in her mouth and numbness in her arm. They took her back right away, but it took hours just to see the doctor. And the nurses are rude, they act like you aren't even there.
They don't treat their patients with care. They just do what they can and get you out the door. They push you to pay them and their high prices.
I was there having a severe panic attack. The only thing that keeps in down some is for me to and Everytime I turn a corner these nurses busy out laughing me while im begging them to help me. I was losing control of all movement about to go out and my stepdad had to catch me.

Rude here, the staff was amazing when I Whent there for dehydration and therapy (such as speech and occupational therapy s) The staff when I whent there for a broken hip (close to the joint, but not that close) they did everything they could to fix me up and make me feel better, they took me (when my hip was broke) to HH or Huntsville hospital, they did surgery on my hip and I whent to TOC to help me recover, with a lot of Physical therapy, I managed to heal, yet, I m still doing it, I also had another surgery, I had this heart condition that if you didn t fix it, you would die, I had to have heart cathiterazation, I love how this hospital does everything they can to make you feel better, this goes for other hospitals, get Medicade if you can, it will lower the cost of your medical bills.
My wife's visit to the ER 13 May, was not very pleasant, with only four people ahead of us the wait was excessive. She broke her wrist and we waited in the back two hours for a doctor to visit. I went out to the nurses station and met Nurse Nathan and told him my wife was in great pain, He immediately got her a pain pill and some ice, after we waited for another hour I went looking for a doctor, found Dr Baird who said we would be next, after thirty minutes He did come in and put a hard splint on her wrist. That was a five hour wait, thank goodness for nurse Nathan, he seemed to really care.
I waited two hours in the waiting room with severe abdominal pain. Then once I was taken back (after I threw up in the waiting room bathroom a few times) it took at least another hour before I saw a doctor. After he finally came in, he had no compassion or sympathy. Right before I was discharged (I spent a total of six hours there) the nurse told me I had a UTI and to stop the use of a different antibiotic I was on. The doctor came in and never even mentioned the infection and told me to stay on my other antibiotic. So, since we received mixed signals we asked the pharmacist what we should do and what the medication was for and he said the same thing the nurse did. I'm really glad it wasn't anything more serious. If I ever have pain that bad again, I'll risk an hour drive to a different hospital instead of going to Highlands.
I had a very good experience here. I'm not sure if "good" is the right word for rolling in here at 2:30 am with severe abdominal pain and finding out I had a major kidney stone. but I was very happy with the service I got that night. It was very professional, quick, and very clean considering the corona virus precautions.
I really liked everyone who examined me. Even though it was super early, Dr. Liu was upbeat and very enthusiastic and caring and checked on me multiple times. Even though I was exhausted, his instructions for post visit care were very clear and they answered all my questions very. I felt very comfortable discussing everything I needed before leaving. Nurse Cristal was amazing too.
Overall I hope I don't have to go to the ER again but if I do I definitely trust this place to give me quality care.

My right hip was hurting at 1:00 in the morning saw Dr. Hunt and staff no waiting blood pressure 201 top number had ex-ray no broken bones problem due to sciatica got 2 shots in left hip and was released with 2 prescriptions for pharmacy
This place is full of nothing but the most incompetent people. It needs to be under investigation. I had X-rays done and they tell me what's wrong but refused to print the reason for my visit on my papers and tell me to follow up as I will need a surgery asap but when I try to follow up they want $200 to tell me the exact same thing and set a date. Funny, thought this was an emergency? Why are they pretending I was never there for this?

Alfonzo Espinel is the absolute worst doctor I have ever met. He is rude and condescending and worse, just not a capable doctor. I would reconsider before visiting this hospital if he is a representation of the overall staff.
So, Like most of the reviews is how I felt for 10 plus years. If you have the sniffles, go to Highlands. If you got heart, go to Huntsville, Vanderbilt, stroke, Erlanger. Yesterday after 2 months of my family doctor saying UTI and giving me meds that even wasn't for that , I decided ok let's give it a shot. Huntsville has a long wait time. I went in @ 11 :30 am. They were swapped. Ok. From admissions to Jarrod, Vonda, Dr.Jones were right there. I didn't have a UTI. They literally didn't stop to find out real problem. Cyst on ovaries, Bladder infection. Really? He done a CT scan, pelvic exam, urine of course. The only wait time I had was waiting on discharge. 2 hours!! Oh well, in 2 hours they were trying to keep 2 ppl who come in code 4. Unfortunately 1 didn't make it. Not a car wreck either. I prayed for these families. Y'all gripe over wait times not knowing the other end. The doctors, nurses, CNA's have priorities. Why go to a hospital and spend your money to walk out not knowing or getting your scripts to solve the problem?They were trying and I saw with my own 2 eyes them doing CPR on a guy. You think bc you're sick with sinuses, back pain, tooth pain, sniffles, slight fever that they don't care?They do! It's by priority though. I'm glad they saved one life. I'm sorry for who lost their family member. Remember you're not the only one in the world. They go home I'm sure questioning "What could I have done different"? I commend these ppl. The law force, fire fighters, Military. Think if you're closest family member was to die... Would they help the person with a cough , fever? Or would they save your family member first? I really don't care for Highlands very much myself I had a very bad experience with them on October 1st 2015. the ER staff were very rude and didn't treat me in the manor Iwas needed to be treated.But other times, I have been treated very well I guess its just the ER. Just don't go in with a stroke.
I brought my 82 year old dad to this hospital and he can not hear. I take care of all his paper work and everything and I usually relay what doctors are saying to him and then he will agree or disagree with doctors but I was not even aloud to go in with him and he looked so scared plus he is really sick on top of having to go in without me...
These inept individuals have a proven track record of having no common sense or medical knowledge. Most recently my father came in having chest pains. They sent him home saying his EKG was fine. Fast forward to 2 days later he was visiting family in SPRINGFIELD ILLINOIS and he had severe chest pains .... ended up being taken BY AMBULANCE to the ER and had 8 - EIGHT - blockages in his heart ranging from 85-90% which lead to immediate emergency bypass surgery. They said had he so much as got upset at a stoplight he would have had a massive heart attack and died right there.

Pulse check exray 548 dollars nothing done either time .was referred next door to that sports medicine dr 265 to 500 just for a appointment I had FMLA paperwork I needed filled out Highlands said our er drs don't fill those out almost lost my job finding a dr to look at them and sign them place needs closed permanently and leveled
I went in for a severe cough, they past me around from department to department, ended up with a $3000 dollar bill, and no answer, as to what it was from, ended up having to go to another place, Highlands is a joke, they only want your money, they don t care for anyone s well being in my opinion.
The expertise and friendliness of Dr. Liu was very appreciated in our time of need. My husband s nurse Christy was amazing and compassionate. Their knowledge and care for my husband showed. It helped ease our minds knowing he was under their care. We are thankful for the care we received at Highland hospital. Highly recommend to others.
Needed help for one of my players. Linda Cookston (billing dept) and Wendy (registration at ER, can't remember her last name though) went above and beyond to bend over backwards and get us the information and help we needed. Triage nurse was fantastic. Doctor was super busy as the place was packed, but he made sure all questions were answered.
I can't brag on Linda and Wendy enough though. I called praying for some direction and got so much more than anticipated and the end result was a scared, young man getting the help and care he needed.
Some doctor don't care they just want to get you in and out as quickly as possible and don't listen to the patient
I REFUSE to go back to Highlands. Dr. Espinel is the rudest man I have ever had to speak with. I have called to report this so called Doctor. The nurse staff was absolutely the best towards my son and I but a disrespectful Doctor literally made my entire night horrible!
