Me and my husband just had the wedding of our DREAMS here!!!! The location is perfect!! Between the mountains, the lake, the beautiful rustic barn. Pecco and Gail are absolutely fabulous! They made sure our stay and our guests stay were taken care of. Everyone was blown away by this venue! They are the kindest people. I couldn't imagine our most special day being anywhere else!! Thank you Pecco and Gail for everything we will definately be back to visit!!

Absolutely beautiful and so charming! So peaceful and tranquil. I stayed here for the weekend with my mother and grandparents while visiting my younger brother at proctor and we had the best time. The owners are the nicest people. So kind and accommodating. They really care about all of their guests and have put their hearts and souls into this inn and it shows. I m looking forward to my next stay!

This place is wonderful. The innkeeper and his wife are absolutely fascinating people. They are very European so you may find that their humor and style of doing things is a little different than typical American hospitality but time with them is well worth it. The property is gorgeous and their barn for weddings and special events is amazing. The innkeeper has much professional food experience so it's great to hear him talk passionately about food and hospitality. Definitely going back!

This is a beautiful spot run by a very nice and friendly couple who go of their way to be accommodating.

We had a fantastic time at this venue for our wedding! The barn was gorgeous and didn't need much decoration besides some fresh flowers on the table. We were nice and warm despite the rain outside, and we had a blast. We used the vendors that Pecco recommended, which was a huge relief as they were all familiar with the venue.

Had a wonderful time staying at The Highland Lake Inn. Pecco & Gayle do a wonderful job hosting and there are plenty of things to do nearby between the lake and Mt. Kearsarge! Definitely looking forward to revisiting!

Nice wedding venue very enjoyable.was told the inn was very nice also did not personal check it out. Would recommend anyone looking for wedding venue or party venue to check it out, not really ADA accessible.

I attended a wedding here but did not stay. Beautiful venu and property! On the smaller size but perfect for the wedding I was there for. They did a great job renovating the barn but still keeping the barn feel. I also met the owner and had a solid conversation with him. I would recommend this as a wedding venue.

The property is magnificent and the proprietors went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. They are extremely knowledgeable about the area and its amenities and helped us to map a spectacular gravel cycling route. We will be back!

BE CAREFUL!!!
Attended a wedding there early October 2018; when we originally toured the property with our friends (the bride & groom), everything seemed great. The grounds were beautiful & the owner seemed so sweet & personable. But "sweet & personable" quickly turned into "wildly inappropriate" as soon as papers were signed.
Pecco (the property owner) does not respect personal boundaries, especially with women. The poor bride had an emotional breakdown the day of the wedding due to Pecco's unprofessional behavior.
The list of complaints I have, not only from what I witnessed personally, but also from other guests & the entire wedding party, is far too long to for 1 review.
If you do decide to have your event at the Inn, be sure to ALWAYS have witnesses present whenever you are dealing with the owner; read all paperwork CAREFULLY, & always have a copy of your signed contract with you so you don't get any surprises or unexpected fees.

Made our wedding a memorable experience like a Vietnam flashback. Owner was very inappropriate with our guests and overly touchy. Standoffish, rude and stubborn. Caused my wife to have a panic attack and then accosted her in the parking lot after it was all over. It was pretty bad.

One of the worst experiences. Between adding to the prices on the fly, mentaly and physically abusing the guests, yelling at the staff, and touching the female guests inappropriately, the owner made every attempt to make the event uncomfortable. He had to be asked privately to stop touching the women. Every choice and option presented was proposed to try to swindle the event hosts out of money. What's more, the guests and attendees were repeatedly responsible for groundskeeping and doing tasks that absolutely should have be the owner's responsibility. Cannot possibly recommend this place less.

We stayed one night at the Highland Lake Inn and had an absolutely lovely time. Pecco and his wife Gayle are such a lovely couple and wonderful hosts. The rooms were nice, cozy, and clean. We got to hear some wonderful stories and lots of local recommendations. We will definitely return and highly recommend Highland Lake Inn.

My friend had a wedding here in the barn. There was a lot of seating inside without being cramped and another addition to the back of the barn worked great for the dance floor.

Ahhhh, the Highland Lake Inn......
Picture your big day, special event, etc. What do you envision?! Well, if you are picturing yourself getting down and dirty in good ol NH fashion cleaning up dead apples off the ground where your I Do s will be said, hauling piles of the inn keepers junk out of the barn where you will be cutting your cake, and dealing with downright unprofessional innkeepers- this is just the place for you!!!
In good conscience, I cannot suggest that anyone hold their special event here. Pecco is a nuisance to work with and down right inappropriate. Please, look at reviews on different sites; both recent reveiws and not so recent. Formulate a well rounded opinion. Good luck.

Pecco and Gail made us feel like part of the family, plus their food is incredible. Just booked our return trip.

I was pretty impressed with the entire place
very spacious, the barn was big enough and decorated beautifully
the catering set up was great and the food was awesome, couldn't of asked for anything better and the crew was especially accommodating

Absolutely love this place! I might be a little biased considering my husband and I are the ones who have done all the work on the barn but I couldn't ask to be around better people! Pecco and Gail are a one of a kind and so caring! They always make sure people feel at home. The barn is one of my favorite places to be and when I do decide to get married this will be the place I do it!

A wonderful time at the Inn. We were there for my Son's wedding and spent a couple of extra days as well. As a wedding venue, this was outstanding. This is not the place to be if you are looking for a sophisticated venue with all the amenities, but really, if you are having a wedding in a barn you shouldn't be looking for that. The Inn was rustic and well appointed. The internet worked well (although no real cell service - kind of a plus). Pecco, our host and his wife were gracious and flexible. Full of good suggestions for places to visit and route's to take. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower were modern and were small but worked well. Breakfasts were simple and tasty with wonderful fruit and local breads as well as eggs. The rules were sensible and up front (If there is a fire, a sober adult has to be in attendance at all times, No open flame candles in the 100+ year old barn etc). The area in the late fall was beautiful. Very much a memorable wedding and a beautiful area. We will be back.
