High Sierra has provided consistent and exceptional service to our community for over five years. Little to no billing errors, fully trained staff, timely response to issues or concerns, and true pool management services. It requires VERY little oversight. They are a dependable and trustworthy partner. Highly recommend them for any multi family property. The MARK Property Manager!

They lies about money. Take more money than they need from paychecks.

Experiences with hsp depend on how you re, we try to do our jobs well and get some fun. Our supervisor Kostantin always helps for our problems , if you re doing your job well, there is no reason to be bad with someone who is your patrons,manager, supervisor, etc. Because of the all things that I told I really love this company. Enjoyed working a LA Fitness. Be mindful, based on the hours scheduled it can cost plenty of money to get there if your on public transportation

High Sierra Pools is the WORST pool company ever I lifegaurded with them for 2 years, it s 12 hours in the sun with minimum breaks, sometimes no breaks at all. They do not care about your well being. 100% Do NOT recommend working with them. Also they treat the exchange students horrible with horrible living spaces 6 people to two bedroom apartments. It s just horrible.

I started working on this summer. I think it good experience for me. This company is very high quality and I'm so lucky because my supervisor is Konstantin and my manager is Zuzana. They are very kind and so cute. They are support me for everything.

This company took over pool management of my apartment complex. They are the worst! While the "lifeguards" are nice, they're super lazy. Water quality should be checked once a hour, I've seen one guard do regular checks. Otherwise they're either in the guard chair on the phone or sitting wayyy in the back away from the pool. I've seen them leave the deck while people are in the pool! Leave as in go inside the building for minutes at a time. You never see them cleaning the pool, so the tile has a yucky film on the tiles. I wish we could go back to our old pool company.

Fun summer job for college students who enjoy saving life s

I have been working with High Sierra for a few years and they have always been professional and super customer friendly. The pool that they managed is very large and complicated, they ran the pool seamlessly all summer long. They even came out for a doggy swim with our residents dogs. Shout out to Ivan and Simeon! They are both great.

Today our pool in Gaithersburg Maryland is officially closing. I feel I should take the time to praise an exceptional young man in your employ. Javon, the head lifeguard has been such a pleasure for all of us in this community. He's so hard working, even in typical Washington weather, very hot and very humid, and is always self motivated. He's been warm and friendly and has run the pool staff well.

We would all like to thank you for his presence this summer.

Well, I started working this year. Reading most of the reviews are true. They slave you to work, and pay you very little. As well with so many more international lifeguards more then Americans. Working is fun with them, but they have to ATLEAST boost their pay by $3

At High Sierra, I was employed in the summer of 2017 as a lifeguard in Virginia. The work was simple, sometimes boring. But what we can expect from a lifeguard is paying attention to people who are in the pool and around it. But the travel we went after work was much more interesting.

Worked indoors at LA fitness & some pools were very humid, with poor air quality... shifts are 9 hours with no breaks & only one guard on duty. Fresh air / breaks are very important but aren t considered? last minute schedule changes would also always happen. Maybe you guys could shorten shifts or have rotations for indoor pools

Pays their lifeguards terribly and schedules on short notice. Take another company and you'll get paid +$5.00 more

I was in a bind trying to get my pool ready for the summer. High Sierra pointed me in the right direction and saved the day.

I ve never ever got anything less then 5 starts on all of my inspections both company and health, and they give me a warning because i didnt let a guest who insult me at the pool.
One of my friends start getting a bad schedule and they cut her shifts, because she didnt go on a date with the guy who make the schedule.
The companies who hire High Sierra paying for the whole season, not daily, but if its raining they gonna cancel ur shift and u not gonna get paid, but High Sierra still getting paid for the lifeguard .
There is Soo many wrongs things in this company, you cannot imagine.

Horrible company to work for. Extremely Extremely unorganized. If you don t get placed in a indoor facility. You ll be slaved. You could possibly work 70hr ilwork weeks if not more for only $10-11/hr. They are greedy people

This summer is the best summer for me. Thanks High Sierra, supervisors Bobi and Boris, and Zuzanna for everything! I have already met such a great people and joyful time.

You can receive this "5 stars" only in your dreams and maybe by office employees just to make a situation better here. 1 star because I can't give you 0. International employees are not your slaves you disrespectful greedy people!

Do not fulfill the terms of the contract. worked there for 2 seasons. Not the top managers who work there are bad, but the approach to the owner's business,

High Sierra Pool is truly one of the best exchange working experience I have had as a lifeguard, Great staffs and wonderful patrons who always looking out for you,

I passed all the classes including the final test they told me they ll email me my job location and when I would start. 4 days passed I never got the email so I went up there to find out what s going on and they told me they ran out of space ( after I passed and they said they were going to give me a location) and I would have to pay $250 for a certificate to some were else as a lifeguard. Feel as though that was extremely unfair!!!

I am working with hight sierra this summer. I think i gave best decision when i pick this company. I have a supervisor Constantin and an ADM zuzana. We are lucky for have them. They are with us whenever we need help. Thanks for this perfect summer experience.

The worst employer, unable to help, unable to oblige, the most incompetent people i've ever had to work with, especially supervisor. HSP just want young people to work for them and take the most money they can have from them. And many more terrible things. I personally highly DON'T recommend this company.

I speak so highly of this company to only be thrown away like concert trash. I lie to you not, the company is awesome. However, if it comes down to protecting your guard, the contract will out weigh you the guards. Money can be made with ease, long as you down for putting in the hours. HSP is a great company, their work ethic could use some work. However, I would jump right back into working with them if opportunity presents itself. I had a community who was ready to dismiss HSP as their pool care company. I bust my butt to gain trust from this property. They signed a new contract with HSP requesting I returned to their property. As of now I'm a unemployed lifeguard with multiple certifications for pool management and lifeguarding. HSP, I would love to comeback and start my career in pool services with you guys.

Montebello has used this service for years and as aresident I wonder why they continue to renew their contract. The guards often don't show or High Sierra pulls the guards when there is inclement weather. I continue to ask our management if we are reimbursed for the guards but sadly-no response.

They treat their employees like trash, and do not communicate well with them either. The guards themselves will do fantastic jobs often enough, but the company is taking advantage of young highschools to turn an easy profit, while often cheating the highschools, or verbally abusing them.

Each of our residents pay 50 so that our small pool can be available to us. When I and two other residents were trying to swim in the pool, three noisy young men with long black hair spread out thru the whole pool throwing a soccer ball.. They were guests of the young pool guard. The guard asked if I wanted to see the list that High Sierra management had made of people that they could invite into the pool who were not residents or guest of residents. They said they could do this because the pool was not full to capacity. The last thing i want my condo association to believe is that our pool is not utilized "enough" it will be closed next year and this foolish company will not have its playground

I m working with high sierra pools this summer season, high sierra is the best pool company. Rigorous, prescriptive, this company think about and help the employees. They always respectful to customers. And my supervisor is bobi. He is the king and he is like my family over there. He is the world's most diligent and sincere man, his lifeguards. And an ADM zuzana. We have tried a few different places for swim lessons for our 4 year old! We LOVED HSP (Hyland Hills Pool!)The instructors were professional, they were great with the kids, and my daughter loved going to swim lessons all summer! She has become such a strong swimmer in such a short amount of time! Tsvetan, Mike, Anastasia, and Pauline were AWESOME! We cannot wait for next summer! Thank you!!!

I worked for High Sierra Pools for 5 years. I faced harassment from my supervisor, whom received a salary, but rarely did his job. I was forced to work with Hydrochloric Acid for years before being told that only my supervisor could fill that tank. Due to poor management, companies that hire High Sierra for pool maintenance will find themselves angry and disappointed by delayed repairs. HSP has yet to fire Leo Contreras of Rochester and Buffalo NY

It was a good lifeguard experience to work for company like High Sierra Pools. If you're responsible and doing your job well, they will treat you well. As far as I know, they are the only pool company that pays for overtimes to international lifeguards and trust me, it's a good money. If you are interested in working for this company, especially ask for Katarina Sturanovic. She's amazing supervisor, always picks up her phone and she's willing to solve all the problems you have at work. Of course HSP also has some cons too, but I feel like pros are up top.

This is far and away the worst pool service our condo has ever used. Lifeguards taking cigarette breaks with 10 people in the pool, showing up 30-45 minutes late causing our pool to open nearly an hour late on a regular basis. Their management has been informed a number of times and has done nothing, though the lifeguards boyfriend has stopped coming by. Stay far away!

I went to their 3 training passed with flying colors. Then they told me wait a week for your certification and then they would place me at an pool. A week passed bye and I haven t heard from them so I went up there myself and they told me there was no pools available for me after I took all them classes passed and they were supposed to A sign me a pool when I passed the class

Company is not answering their emails for almost 3 months. They owe me almost 1700$ and nobody is reacting to my emails.

I lived at an apartment community where they hired High Sierra lifeguards. The lifeguards we had for summer 2016 were excellent. The pool was always sparkling clean, the lifeguards were always attentive and on time.
However, after learning what type of living conditions High Sierra provided for these guys I am very unhappy with this company. The company is robbing these kids. They are selling this work and travel as a great experience but High Sierra is paying little to no money and charging well and above the cost of rent for the apartments they are providing. As well as providing only air mattresses and a fold out table as furniture in the apartment. NOTHING ELSE. These guys have no internet, no lamps, no sofa, no dishes, no silverware, nothing. After High Sierra takes the money for rent they are barely left with enough money for food.
What High Sierra is doing is hiring cheap labor to fill their greedy pockets. Watch out.

They have no consideration of people s situations. What I mean by that is I live in dc and after I completed all the classes and passed they gave me no option on were I wanted to work. So they wanted to place me in Waldorf, Maryland and that s 45-60 minuets from we re I live. I told them it would cost me a lot of money to keep traveling like that. They told me we ll find we re else to work, I was so frustrated that I wasted all that time on them classes for nothing. WORSE JOB SITE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pool service, maintenance, and staffing has exceeding our buidling's expectations! The lifeguards are great and so is the pool manager, Daniel!

Worst pool service. Laziest employees (check out their Facebook page where the employees even brag about how lazy they are!), and no management to control the situation.

My boys, ages 9 and 6 learnt from DJ and they started swimming in just one session and enjoyed the class very much! At Arora Hills pool they reserved the whole pool just for the classes, so it was a spacious learning environment. Wish I had known about this class earlier. Will definitely sign them up again next summer!

I m one of the gusts at Virginia exactly Alexandria. I m extremely satisfied by their service and hard work specially one of the lifeguard who s name JAKUB SEJNA who s doing an amazing and great job at swimming pool. It s my 3rd year here in this area and I would love if #high Sierra pools can keep him for us here at our swimming pool.

I was a returning employee and apply for a 6am-2pm pool job. As soon as I apply they let me start in three days. I had forgotten to mention that I cannot work that thursday because of religious purposes. Once I told the guy who makes the schedule he said I will be terminated because of short notice. and said I can only be excuse if I have court, doctors note, or a funeral. we live in the U.S where we have the right to keep our religion. anyways I quit cause he wanted me to show up and didn't considered my rights to keep my religion. yes I could of told them the day of the interview or whatever but I am human and I forgot. out of 2,000 other employees they couldn't find one to cover that shift? the company is a joke. as soon as i told him im going to take him to court for this he stopped being sarcastic. very inconsiderate guy..

This is our 4th season using High Sierra Pools for our community. Their management team is friendly and very personable. Communication is excellent and all requests are responded to quickly. Milos and his team are top notch!

If you like poor pay and a unorganized work place this is the perfect place to work. Seriously the pay you less than minimum wage and regular lifeguard worksite get paid way more. There people skills are horrible. I m telling you now save yourself the trouble and find another place to work

We have been using High Sierra Pools for 6 or 7 years now and we absolutely love the quality of service they provide us. They are always very responsive when we need something and they always provide quality lifeguards. Our residents and non residents are always complimenting us on the cleanliness of our pool too! We will always recommend them!

This is a great company and I had good summer with them.

I worked for High Sierra Pools year-round from 2012-2017, and became part of the management team. I learned a lot from the company about legal compliance, safety, and business in general. Staffing is sometimes a problem in the industry, but High Sierra Pools provides better service for their clients than their competitors do. I wish them well, and I recommend their services to anyone who is looking for better quality.

Stellar lifeguards that do an amazing job with swim lessons! Both our little kids learned to swim over the summer each with different instructors. I highly recommend them!
