The resort is beautiful, it truly is. I won't give them a lack of stars based on my bad experience because the grounds are amazing.HOWEVER, BE WARNED: no where on the site does it say check in/out time. Check out is 11am check in is 4 IN THE AFTERNOON. This is very late and kind of messed with our plans a bit. My girlfriend and I checked in on 6/11 and knew about the 4pm check in so with some moving around we climbed ampersand mountain and then went to the wild center. We called around 3:30 to say we would be a little later than planned and got to the hotel at about 5pm. Even though we were well past the check in time our room STILL wasn't ready. We're easy going so whatever, things happen, we get that. They gave us 1 comp-ed breakfast, 1 appetizer at their restaurant, and 1 drink voucher. We waited for an extra hour doing nothing because we literally climbed a mountain and were ready to flop in our $250/a night room that was said to have a lot of awesome features. We got to the room and it was on the farthest side of the building with the worst view. IMPORTANT: I'm not saying the view was a dumpster or anything, it is impressive. But, I know they probably saw myself and my girlfriend walk in and put us in the "worst" one. It happens to us a lot. We look very young, I've gotten that my whole life. I understand it, but we paid the same as the old couple next to us that didn't get here until a day after us and the same as the apparent empty room on the corner that has an AMAZING view of the entire lake and every mountain (I know because I stood on the fire escape stairs to get a picture of what we missed out on). A word to anyone interested in actually staying here: write what you want in your room in the comments on your reservation ***write that you want a balcony OR you want to be on the bottom where you can walk out on the lake right from your room. I'll attach pictures just to show what I mean about our view. Again, nice view but not what you would expect for 250 a night.

Had a great stay with my family over New Years. Stayed for 6 days. Lots to do. A wonderful resort style hotel. Lake is across the street. Main Street at your fingertips. Pretty good restaurant on site and lots walking distance away . Allowing dogs at this nice of a hotel was pretty funny to see but I would definitely bring him next time. Hotel is very accommodating to all their guests. Hot chocolate and cider with cookies by the fire in the afternoon was a great touch.
Stayed in one of the 2 suites. Very nice. Ground floor walk out if you wish. Large living room and a big spa style bath. S mores over at the Lakehouse was Awesome. Kids loved it and I think the Adults didn t mind it either!
3 people that stand out for me for service would have to be Melissa, Sean, and Eric.
Melissa the front desk manager was great. Had a small issue regarding housekeeping when I checked in but Melissa went above and beyond to correct the situation. Thank you.
Eric is a great Ambassador for High Peaks. He s been there a while and knows this place inside and out. Gave us the history on the resort and area and made us feel like we were at home. Much appreciated Eric!
Sean is a new guest service attendant from NYC. One word to describe would be Awesome!!!! I am a fast paced guy so Sean definitely kept up and took care of whatever I needed. Delivery of luggage, arrangements for activities and gave some great recommendations for restaurants. Sourdough was great! Thanks. We celebrated my daughters birthday on New Years Day and Sean remember from conversation at check in and when we walked through the lobby, there was Sean with a wrapped gift for her. Speechless that a doorman was this on his game. Small things like this make a vacation awesome and great memories! Thank you Sean for all your service. Best of luck in you endeavours.
High Peaks is definitely a place I will return too!!!

Price was decent...most likely because of covid. Staff was friendly (Jeremy). They did not offer a government rate...which was disappointing. The room had a Keurig coffee maker....but no k cups. The empty coffee cups from the guest before me, were left on the balcony table. The location was perfect. The grounds were beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner was cool. Overall...it was ok. I am certain that I will be going back to Lake Placid...as I want to become a 46er. I am on the fence about going back to that resort. Probably....but not certain. We will see.

Absolutely wonderful staff and property. We stayed at the Lakeview property which suited our needs. The bed and breakfast package is well worth the nominal fee for the upgraded package. Superb food...we had breakfast there on all 3 mornings and a delicious dinner 1 evening. Being right across the street from the lake and the hotel amenities was great for my kids. They wanted to just hang out at the lake and outdoor pool. Being right on the edge of the village was great because we were able to walk everywhere but it was quieter than the center. Highly recommended!

Not worth the price..hallways..rooms..elevators have a weird smell..fridge was gross..paid more for a "view" but the "view" was behind the building with a loud noise. Try staying at the Mirror Lake Inn instead. I wish I listened to my friend and booked there.

Nice place. I got "upgraded" to the waterfront collection since the resort didn't have any rooms. This felt more like a dungeon. It was directly on the water which is nice but the rooms are below the parking lot which was weird. Otherwise it was clean.

We stay here every year for a long weekend after the holidays. The hotel is great, the people are great. We use this weekend as a chance to get back to "us" after a crazy holiday season. It works!! We make friends along the way at each restaurant/bar and have a great time.

The girl that checked us in was rude and not welcoming. She did not activate our key for the full duration of our stay which locked us out of our room and caused us some inconvenience. When we went to the front desk to get our key reactivated, the rude girl was there and she refused to handle the issue, so she pushed it on another person at the desk to handle it. She should not be working in the Hospitality industry. Everyone else, especially Ryan, was very friendly and accommodating. The room was average at best and was over priced. The restaurant and bar closed too early. Room service ended at 9 which is way too early. This is suppose to be a Spa resort, but they did not have a massage therapist on staff at the spa, so we had to go to Mirror Lake Inn to get a massage. Don't call yourself a Resort & Spa if you do not have a full staff to accomidate your guests. I would not pick this Resort again. I was disappointed with the lack of amenities for the high priced stay.

We stayed at the Lake House, which had a great lounge area with oversized board games, a pool table, foosball, cozy couches, and a fireplace. Great views of Mirror Lake. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was cute, but the bathroom was a little small and dated. Otherwise, great little place to stay.

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely area by the mirror lake and the complimentary activities offered on the lake front resort. It was more than we expected. Between the two pools and the mirror lake front location, our little girl couldn't be more happier.

Great location. Eric and Mercedes at the front desk were extremely helpful. Dancing bear the restaurant on sight has a full breakfast and great dinner options. The waterfront collection and the resort buildings both have great rooms and views. The gym has three elliptical, three treadmills, free weights and a few other pieces of equipment. There are indoor pools in the main building and the lake house bldg.

This was our second time staying at High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid. High Peaks Resort has been absolutely wonderful and has exceeded our expectations each time. The staff is courteous, friendly, and welcoming. We absolutely love the fireplace in the lobby, and spent a few afternoons relaxing by the fire. The Dancing Bears has a great menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and has always had a decent selection from the bar. The staff at Dancing Bears has been very friendly and outgoing as well. We will definitely be coming back to stay in the future.

We stay there as a member of the Hudson Champlain region of the Porsche Club of America. On a Scenic Drive tour. Our room looked out right onto the pool and the lake and was directly below the parking lot so our car was parked directly above us.
It was a beautiful room and the facility overall is very nice and very centrally located in Lake Placid

Dog food all over the floor. Carpet tearing up at edges. Faulty sliding door locks. This place is seriously showing its age. The main entrance is beautiful, but the actual rooms are comparable to a discount motel.

The staff is very friendly, and we are always greeted with a glass of champagne. Beautiful lobby, and nice rooms. Love the views, and the location is hard to beat. Can walk to everything on main street. No need to drive to any restaurant. This time, we checked in with Ryan, and not only did he provide us a bottle of champagne for my birthday, but followed up to make sure our stay was going well. We have been here several times, and will be back again in the near future.

Very disappointed with our recent stay.

Very disappointed with our recent stay.

Made reservations and called three times prior to arriving asking about things to do and making dinner reservations in advance. Was given very vague answers about what to do. When we arrived, we were promptly told that the town and resort was filled to capacity and that due to the work visa program being shut down due to Covid, they only had 30% of their regular labor force. It showed everywhere we went. Long lines for meals, limited capacity, activities and restaurants at limited hours or closed. The hotels restaurant turned us away at 9:30 in the morning for breakfast because their waiting line was too long. The resort should have been much more forthcoming when I made my reservations about the situation in the town and about their inability to handle the influx of people.

House cleaning was horrible. In the four days we were there our room cleaning consisted of the garbage can being emptied and fresh towels being delivered. Bed were never made. Two of the four days they didn't even pick up the wet towels. By the time we left there was mountain of wet towels by in the corner of the bathroom. Elevator floor was disgusting. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month.

Our room overlooked the pool from the 5th floor. The noise coming from the pool was excessive for three days straight. Kids SCREAMING. I'm not talking about playing, which is what I would expect, but SCREAMING for hours on end. To the point where it was loud five floors up and it was too loud to enjoy sitting at the pool. Nothing was done.

When we had had enough and decided to check out a day early I was told I would still be charged for the night we would not stay there. When I told the manager why we were leaving, she asked if I had complained about the issues to anyone. When I told her that when I am paying upwards of $600 a night for a room I would expect some basic things like a room cleaning and a manageable noise level, she rolled her eyes at me and told me it was there policy and I would be charged.

Really a bad experience. Would never return. I can see why VRBO and Air B&B's are gaining in popularity.

The High Peaks Resort is really one of the great hotels to stay while visiting Adirondack Park. However, I want to get in details below and share my personal thoughts.
Pros:
- Really liked personnel and want to say thank you to Ms. Polina for her super warm welcome.
- We ve loved lemonade and cookies down in the lobby area.
- Definitely convenient location and nice parking lot
Cons:
- No wheelchair access for the pool area by the lake Mirror (reason why I took 2 stars). Each time when we re going there my spouse and I were taking down and up our baby stroller by the stairs. By the way all the canoes and pedal boats were located down there and free for all guests, which is nice.
- We liked restaurant Dancing Bears , but menu prices were a bit expensive and again no wheelchair access.
- We loved heating marshmallows by bonfire, but again no wheelchair access down there.

P.S. If you plan to stay there with your baby in a stroller, like we did, be prepared to build muscle by caring stroller.
