Went for the late night opening for Christmas. It was free to get in had to pay extra to see santa and work shop. I paid a visit to the gift shop and brought some christmas decorations. The shop was reasonable priced. The food was lovely I had a pigs in blanket pizza and chocolate log and hot chocolate was to die for. The best thing for me and my son was toasting the marshmallows on the fire. There was also a live band and the children were dancing. Really would recommend lovely festive feeling.

Had to do something with the kids before they went stir crazy. Took advantage of 50% off and kids under 5 free. The house is pretty dull and the formal gardens ok. However we all enjoyed walking around the large landscape gardens at the back. I can't see us ever going here having paid full price.

Hestercombe is a lovely place. It's a manor house with a huge amount of suave for gardens. You can enjoy the gardens of the house with the it rock and water features. Continue to the "working" mill powered by a water wheel (this is showcased throughout the year and although permanent is not always working). Further round is a lake where you can feed the ducks/swans and see the fish. You're then presented with a long arch of garden which has a number of features in it such as a Roman structure, Chinese structure, Russian structure, a witches hut and plenty of windy paths. You may struggle with wheel chairs and buggys as it can get quite steep. We have an annual pass and it's really spectacular to see it change throughout the seasons.

First visit and found Staff/ Volunteers helpful. Video film in 3 different locations could have been labelled better. Telling stories associated with specific area of grounds Wasn't till on way out did we find Cinema then had to catch up on the FULL story. Take note of Cafe hours STOPPING food at 3pm only if you walked FULL distance. Time is short

Always one of our favourite places to go, particularly on a sunny day. Hestercombe offers great flexibility in that you can choose how long or adventurous you want your walk to be, there are many different routes and so many different things to see. Each part of the gardens has its own personality and it's wonderful to see the changing of seasons. A real gem in the Somerset countryside.

The gardens are lovely, the house not so much. The landscape garden and it's walk is wonderful as it was designed to be also viewed as separate landscapes from viewing points! The formal garden is also pretty and has a nice orangery building.

Hestercombe is looking beautiful and the gardens are stunning. Well done to the two very hardworking gardeners keeping everything looking so good! We enjoyed a lovely morning wandering around the woodland walks and formal gardens. Hope to return very soon.
