Beautiful grounds and energizing walk. Cafe excellent. 4th visit and won't be the last.

So relaxing, you can hear the sound of water all around the woodland walks. Very beautiful late autumn.

Not much for kids. Only a very small play area. Would have liked to have seen more stuff for kids over the 50 acres!

Spent a lovely day at Hestercombe today. We were very impressed with the safety precautions in place, which must have taken a lot of organisation. We enjoyed a superb takeaway lunch in the picnic area, where hand sanitizers were available as an extra precaution. So relaxing to wander around the grounds and formal gardens in the fresh air after being indoors for so long!

Never let day by the wonderful high tea in the column room and beautiful gardens. We make sure we visit hestercombe a minimum of a 4 times a year, around family and work commitments. It's one of my happy places xx

Always have good coffee and cake for when I have a break in my bike ride.

Good gardens, but as to the 'Contemporary art':
One exhibit was several racks of hundreds of bottles of water said to have been collected worldwide.
I offered to produce them a sample of mine but it was refused.
Their 'art' is not to my taste.
Why don't they get the old cider press up and running? We could bring our own apples and come away with our own vintage cider, for a price.
And what about the water turbine?

I just loved. A pacefull place to walk and have some coffe.

Went for the Christmas market. It had a variety of craft stalls, that ranged from food, alcohol to trinkets and art. Had to pay to get in but it was reduced for members. The market was under a large heated tent. Was very cozy

Hestercombe gardens, is a place where you can relax, rejoice and look. This has a very positive effect on your mood, what a NATURE, everything harmonizes, flowers, trees, shrubs a pleasure ....

lovely to walk around on crisp morning and have a tasty takeaway spicy pulled pork topped cheesy chips for lunch.. good to buy a few plants

The well kept garden was a joy to see but you will need your walking boots on to see it all

Very pleasant and peaceful place to visit. A mixture of regular design formal plant beds and woods with two lakes together with a waterfall plus the original household containg various artworks and a rather delectable tea room for afternoon tea.

Fantastic day at Hestercombe Gardens, slightly wild covid induced look to the plants but we loved it. Had a delicious picnic made by the cafe which we felt we deserved after cycling up from Taunton!

Nice place but very different to what we expected from the website. Nothing in the house apart from secondhand books. Food and drink so expensive

Hestercombe is one of my favorite places i am a annual member of the gardens and spend hours there it changes so much through the seasons which also makes it a great place for weddings with days of photo opportunities the staff are very organised and friendly, highly recommended!!!

Nice garden but lack of disabled parking is poor. Parking in general is very limited.

Afternoon tea 18.95 per person. Grounds nicely designed and a fair bit of history

Didn't go into the House or Garden this time but enjoyed time with our grandson on the play equipment one day and a delicious hot chocolate on another

Lovely cakes, nice coffee and a lovely place to visit. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Lots of available parking and charging points for electric cars.

A very pleasant day out...lunch was also pleasant but all in all for the five of us in my opinion was very expensive...the gardens are of no great attraction and every time you turn round there is something asking for donations.. But it was a very pleasant day as the weather was fine and the company good. 100 marks to the restaurant waiting staff but I doubt you will see me again.

We did the ice skating on plastic. Total waste of money as the skates don t grip and so you can t move. Shards of plastic left in all clothing including on kids gloves. Cafeteria ok but cake wasn t up to much and a large table was reserved though staff didn t know who for or when! Half our group therefore had to leave.

Lovely but accessibility rather depends on how bumpy you like the paths!

I've been to Hestercombe both with friends socially and also as a wedding photographer. I was there again yesterday. Hestercombe has a calmness about it, a connection to nature and its beauty that is hard to ignore.

At yesterday's wedding, I could hear the constant birdsong, which was a wonderful addition to the harpist there that day.

The gardens are beautifully kept, it is a fabulous setting of beauty and tranquility, and well worth a visit.

I can also confirm that their wedding food is well presented and delicious :-)

Hestercombe really does live up to its motto of paradise restored.

Great country park with extensive walks and wildlife to see.

Entrance fees are way to expensive for such a small walk.

There's the formal garden and also the opportunity to walk in wild areas. You can also buy 2nd hand books. Happy days!

Super beautiful garden, was not inside the house as it was solely the garden we came after.

Excellent cafe well worth a visit after walking in the gardens.

Very nice a place to go! Good for young children!! I went there with quite a few toddlers and a few children! Most of the time there is some event going on for example in easter we did an easter trail, and there a little building where you can book in to do an activitie for example we mad pop-up cards for easter! It is very enjoyable!:)

I really liked this place better than the Losg Gardens

Peace place for a wander around some lovely gardens. Nice cafe, currently take-away only.

Lovely gardens and cafe, but membership fees for existing members are hiked up much higher than new members, not encouraging you to retain membership each year.

Lovely gardens with woodland walks. Brilliant second hand bookshop and nice cafe offering a good range of quality food. Parking is easy except at the height of the school holidays

Lovely wedding venue on lush grounds. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Great venue all round :)

Loved the manor house and the gardens very relaxing.

Great place for a walk and coffee. Bought membership 1 plus guest paid for itself on the 2nd visit. Nice cafe. Looking forward to it in the spring

Lovely gardens. Quirky and interesting, with a great atmosphere. Especially impressed with facilities and attitude to disabled visitors.

Gardens great. Restaurant - a fiasco. Limited menu. Cutlery that breaks, card machine that breaks down.

Is often billed as 'the poshest services off the M5' and is well worth the detour. It offers delightful gardens and excellent facilities to break up the tedium of the journey down to the West Country. Good range of meals and the Jekyll formal terrace is lovely. Worth the trip.

It was so lovely there today. Not too many people because of the social distancing but all the plants and flowers were in bloom, probably past their best but still beautiful. We had a picnic box, which was very nice. A lovely day!

Lovely gardens for a walk, nice selection of plants for sale and really enjoyed the art exhibition. Meal in the stable cafe was disappointing. Avoid the mezze bowl.

Beautiful grounds. Lots of interesting land marks in the grounds. Plenty of varying terrain.

We very often visit this place too walk the dogs and take the children out for a nice long walk, we do love the restaurant here too.

Great place. Very friendly staff great atmosphere. Lovely woodland strall through the woods. Great things to discover with children.

A delight to walk through the restored 18 century landscape gardens and the Edwardian formal gardens designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll in the early 20th century. Well worth a visit

Beautiful place to walk around with lots of hidden suprises. They have a mobility scooter that you can borrow free for two hours. The entrance fee is really good value for money its lovely to see just how hard they are working to restore this beautiful garden. The gift shop and cafe are lovely and affordable a really lovely way to spend a few hours wandering through woodland as well as formal gardens. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We had coffees at the outside tables on a lawn, a lovely walk all around the grounds including the higher woods, and a really tasty lunch in the covered area at the Stables restaurant - whole visit much enjoyed, including in the afternoon a lucky chance to catch the exhibition in the house in its last couple of weeks. Covid precautions all good, they've done a great job

Great place to bring children, entrance is dear but you can use vouchers.
