Hershey Entertainment & Resorts: Houlihan's Restaurant Review

Ate outside to keep socially distanced. Wonderful service, delicious food and a really nice experience.

The food was good but the service was slow. My wife and I really liked our meal but my son was disappointed with his steak. Easy to find and very pleasant atmosphere.

Dirty table. the food had one flavor and that was salt and there was too much of that. Everything seems worn out. Service was fair

Great food great drinks. Good atmosphere. Easy access on the "square" in Hershey. Free parking. Good wait staff. Gets busy fast. Can be long wait times.

Houlihan's in Hershey was okay but not the best. The place is very presentable. However, the food wasn't that great compared to other restaurants that I've been to in Hershey. If you need a place to get something to eat doing a late-night hours Houlihan's is a great place to stop. But if you want great food I definitely would go elsewhere by choice.

Such great service and food that we came back the next night. Great selection of food and drinks, vegetarian options available. The Houlihan "shrooms" were a favorite.

Baked potato soup is great. Always pleased with my meals.

I've visited Houlihan's about a dozen times over the last decade, not a lot by any means, and I usually reserve five stars for more distinctive boutique-style establishments, but they've earned it in my book if for no other reason than for consistency. They have a diverse menu with plenty of comfort food, yummy appetizers, bodacious burgers and tasty salads, and the service I've received has always been as consistently impressive as the food has been fresh and delicious. I'm not usually a fan of this style of bar and grub place but Houlihan's gets it right in my book!

The guacamole left much to be desired. But the bar area was nice! Our drinks were phenomenal... we ordered the Houdini, and the chocolate Martini. The Chocolate Martini has the perfect chocolate taste and is not overly sweet, almost like a milkshake!

Food was great but the service was not. Waitress was terrible. Never checked on us. Waited forever to get check and her attention.

This place is unorganized.

Called them to make an appointment and they told me to come in 45 minutes, so of course I did and when I came there they told me to wait additional 15 minutes, so I gave up and asked them why I am still waiting and when will I get my table they said you still have to wait probably 20-25 minutes so I just left. This makes is just ridiculous of treating costumers like that. I would suggest they get a better management because current sucks.

Great food for a good price. First time here while attending a concert, and I would make the trip back, even if it was just to eat here!

Enjoyable atmosphere. The stuffed chicken is absolutely delicious however it s overpriced for the portions.

I really like their seared scallops. They are usually made perfectly! One of the things we used to go there for was the creme brulee. We found out today that they no longer have it! I hope they bring it back. It was so delicious!!

It has an ordor like a medical facility... Two staff (male & female, it seem as if they are involve) was playing around with customer drink while serving them. Besides that the food wasn't bad at all.

Delicious as always!! The seared scallops were amazing, and the wait staff is top notch!

I recommend this restaurant very much, the quality of the food is spectacular;for instance, I ordered a medium steak, and it turned out amazing. I was very happy. I also ordered the baked potato, highly recommend it. My parents were very satisfied with their orders, I very much recommend.

Houlihan's gave us a lovely large corner booth for 6. The scallops and risotto were ordered by 3 of us and it was delectable. The risotto had lemon undertones that were remarkably delicious. We did have a small wait, so Saturday night diners beware. The service was good as well.

Great customer service, avocado wrap appetizer was excellent! Fish and chips was average no seasoning. No waiting to be tabled was great.

The call ahead wait was almost 2 hours. After we were told 1 hour at best. They need a new system of call ahead. The nachos were delicious, the Chicken Alfredo was good as well. Good food out weighed the very long wait. The server was good. Hopefully the next time I go the call ahead system will be fixed!

Food was good but for the price should have been better. Wait staff was friendly.

Terrible service we got our appetizer quickly and our food however we waited at least 30 minutes to paybthe check and get our dessert to go.. waitress said indont know why noone came to get the check or bring us the dessert. Unexcusable.

This is a big restaurant with lots of seating options. It does get busy especially on Theatre days. The food and friendly staff is worth the wait.

Impossible burger was almost " impossible" to eat! No meat should not mean NO FLAVOR! C'mon chef; would some salt or pepper have been too much trouble. Houlihan's only has a few meatless options and this one was poorly presented. DON'T waste your $16.

I was in for a few beers with my wife and good friends today at lunch. I ordered a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter while my wife had a Troegs Perpetual. When the bill came I was charged $7.50 for my beer. The beer was rung up as "Kentucky Bourbon Porter" when questioned the bartender looked unnerved. He said that was the old beer and was told to simply charge the same since the beer wasn't changed in the POS. I mentioned that this is a PLCB violation for misrepresentation and he said a manager would be out to talk to me. Needless to say the manager never showed and the bartender looked like he had to do something so to his credit he comped one draft. I wanted to stay to talk with someone but my party wanted to leave so we left. This is a very deceptive business practice and I can't believe not one person from management would come talk to me... disgraceful. I won't patronize businesses conducting such nefarious business tactics. I'm disgusted

This is now my favorite place to eat love the pan seared Ahi ahi tuna.

Fast seating for a larger party, great food at excellent quality. Waitress was very prompt, very helpful staff and management.
We forgot our leftovers and went right back in to find that they already threw it out. Not a big deal to us, but they sprung into action and made us another meal to go....free of charge! Very much appreciated for our long drive home!

Get there early, this place fills quickly at dinner time. Food and service are always excellent.

French onion soup was one of the best I've had. Very much enjoyed the pot roast as well. Have been here several times while in Hershey. Would recommend - and I will be returning again when in town.

Slow service
We Came back to give you another chance. After waiting an hour to be seated our waitress Breana took our drink order. First she forgot my lemonade and then forgot my husbands beer (which he did not like anyway). Then we waited for almost an hour for our food . It came out and was not what I ordered it was a small piece of salmon baked to a crisp. Good thing I ordered the salmon with pesto and zucchini noodles (which I did not get). Sorry houihans no more for me.

The staff was amazing. Karen and my husband seemed to click and gave a great time talking. She helped him with his selection prior to us even sitting down. We were out of towners visiting the area for a concert and decided to stop in for a late dinner. Everyone was so nice and pleasant, they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy working there and with each other. The food was so good; no one had any leftovers to bring home because we devoured it all. Drinks were great as well. I'd never been to Houlihan's before but if I was a local, this would definitely be a fave/ go-to. Amazing job, keep up the great work!!

Excellent food. Excellent service. The strawberry lemonade was super. Yes, I took some with me and I'm a 77 year old Male. My wife had ginger ale.

Good service. Food was flavorful. Baked potato soup was excellent. Salmon with a side of string beans was tasty, but the dill butter and sauce needs some improvement. I would recommend the restaurant if you are in the area. Very pleasant atmosphere!

Excellent food. Everything is done to perfection. Great choices on the menu. Upscale and tasty selections from appetizers, burgers, entrees to desserts. One restaurant you won't want to miss.

The food and atmosphere inside the historic Hershey Press building were wonderful. I think this is a perfect time of year to visit Hershey to do non park things.

Houlihan's was very busy tonight and yet the service was outstanding and very prompt. Nathan D. was our server and he made us feel very welcome and did not keep us waiting at all for our drinks, food or dessert. Fabulous experience here tonight!

Very good. We were looking for something to eat near Hershey Park and this place came up on my Yelp app so we tried it. Yelp is usually pretty good about its recommendations and this place was no exception! Great food and the service was outstanding. Not a 5 star restaurant, but not a "run of the mill" chain type resturant either. Good comfort food and a great selection of drinks. I would recommend it if you're in the area!

Great food moderately priced and great place to go after a day with the children at Hershey park

Food was delicious. The service was great. And it is in a neat Hershey historical building. Has character.

This Houlihan's far surpassed any other one I have ever been to. The food was more upscale I'd say and the wait staff were so pleasant and attentive. I was with two other adults and three kids and everyone loved their food.

We had a great experience at Houlihans! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and they have a beautiful patio for dining outside!

Had a great lunch. The Baked Potato Soup and Fish Taco was absolutely delicious!

The food is above average American food and all the servers are extremely nice. The atmosphere is nicer than a Chili's but still casual. I recommend getting their Poppers on the appetizers list. They were so delicious and not too heavy.

Nice variety of foods especially appetizers perfect for any appetite. Staff excellent and accommodating. Recommend spinach dip, goat cheese poppers and...well, all appetizers great. Entrees left everyone satisfied. Salads and soups delicious. Its a popular place to eat in Hershey.

Quiet for a Friday night, but our waitress was really friendly even though I was cranky and not having it.

Tried Short Rib Lasagna from their Test Kitchen menu. Priced at $16.95, definitely made a terrible decision. Service was excellent, but the food seems to be mediocre at best every time I come here. To give you an idea of what that Lasagna tastes like, Cheesesteak Hot Pockets are 10 steps up. Their portion size was that of a Hot Pocket too. You should not have to go to another restaurant after already being at one.

The Hershey location is consistently good, both food and service. The bathroom cleanliness has diminished some in recent months, but overall I would recommend the place. The chicken tenders are really good. My wife raved about them and I'm like " How good can plain old chicken tenders be??" But in trying them, I can attest that they are fabulous.

Waited too long for a table first the greeter said 15 min. We gave our number and the text said our table would be ready in 30 min. We said ok and waited and waited outside in the heat we were ready to leave and the text went off. We went inside and the greeter was walking us to an inside table. We told her the reservation was for outside she said we would to wait for a table to open up
We turned around and walked out. Your incompetent greeter waisted our precious time and we will not be visiting any of your restaurants. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Food was ok. The first drink I got was not very good, then I ordered another, and that was so much better. Waiter was kind enough to take the first one off the bill and that was very appreciated.

The food is delicious and their service is great. They also do a great job of following COVID-19 procedures, which gives me peace of mind when eating out during the pandemic with my family.

My family and I. Had lunch at Houlihan's on Monday December 30, 2019. The severer was ruid to all at the table. She truly did not want to be there. I expect a server at a fast food restaurant to be that way not a restaurant that charges $15.00 for

sandwiches.

Upscale casual chain restaurant. Good menu, good food, good drinks, over-priced. But it's Hershey, your going to get ripped off. The server was nice. Had some good recommendations. It was a good time. We'll probably be back again.

I'll definitely be returning to Houlihan's on my next trip back to Hershey. The food was great. The atmosphere inviting and a great selection of beers and cocktails.

Normally have 5 star experience but today not so....called at 1:45 pm for takeout, selected correct option from automated prompt, staff answered, got transferred elsewhere and never had a staff person pick up and take my order. Literally waited 6 minutes. Called again at 2:15 pm and exact same situation, this time only held out for 4 minutes on hold. Sorry, my time is valuable. No sale!

Excellent scallops and Petit filet. Haley is very attentive and brought everything promptly. Checked back often. Great experience!

The food at Houlihan's is always good. I love the pot roast. However, I was disappointed last time because the menu at this location was not the same as the menu they show online, so I wasn't able to get my first choice of dishes.

Waiter was Taylor swift in disguise, we were on a hidden TV show, they brought out uncooked salmon, and various other nasty dishes, before finally revealing all of this to us. Afterwards my wife and I spent time off camera with Taylor swift and the directors of the show, all in all pretty good experience.

The food was good

Very limited plant based menu. Ordered chips and salsa, which was very good, and a black bean burger, which was very dry and not well seasoned. The staff was very nice and attentive to my diet restrictions.

Beautiful friendly staff. Greeted us with smiles every time they were at our table. Great atmosphere.

Great service thanks to the slow night. Food was yummy as usual, and our server was on top of her game! If you're in the Hershey area and looking for a semi-elevated meal, stop on in!

Although it was busy, We did not wait long for our table. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious with generous portions. Wide variety of menu choices. Something for everyone.

Potato soup awesome. Haven t had that soup from houlihans in 20 years. Burger was great, service was great, the drink wasn t perfect. Desert s mores is a okay with the kids. Hershey is where it s at!

11/2 hour wait to be seated for a party of 13. They should take reservations. Waitress was proficient and very nice considering it was a Friday night. Food was average. Mensroom was filthy needed attention by staff.

This place is getting 4 stars mostly do to it's service. First off the restraunt has a very nice interior. Our waitress was very nice and made sure that we had what we needed. Now my soup was good and my dessert was excellent. Ok now I'm going to to tell you why you didn't get a fifth star. The chicken parmesan I got, had no flavor it was bland a major contradiction from the other food I ate.

We had a group of 12, out of the group only 5 enjoyed the food.

Terrible experience. Restaurant was freezing, wore a heavy jacket and shivered the entire time. Restaurant was half empty and took an hour to get food. Scallops were under cooked and cold, risotto was under cooked and hard, fries were soggy and undercooked. Server was nice and apologized for the long wait even with no complaining from me. Promised a manager would be over but they never came. Paid and left. Disappointed

Crab cakes were really really good! I also recommend the avocado toast.

Everything was great. French onion soup perfect not to salty. The steak was the most tender piece of meat, I've ever had. I added a crab cake, it was huge and not to fishy. The best meal I've had out in a long time.

Food is good. Typical fare for chains. Location is nice for downtown.

Good food w diverse menu and awesome for kids. They accomodated us in our own little private dining area - yeah this place is huge.
