A bit pricey for the Gasoline Alley area only in the winter. Save the $$ for a summer visit.

This is an amazing park for a family day out!!! I recommend to get the annual pass, it's unregrettable! :-)
This the first time I visited Heritage Park and I love the history you should always have history tied into the city
I love everything this park has, staff is very friendly
I went for Nativity live event and it was unbelievable beautiful. I Could feel the real spirit of Christmas and see The Nativity of Jesus baby.
I want to say thanks to all the volunteers to make possible this sacred event.
It is a great place to spend the day. We have been there several times and still love it!
We really enjoyed this place in our holiday. Lots of very nice people telling us all kinds of history about the place.
We loved our visit to the park. Especially the trains and buildings. Ice cream was good too.
Loved it! I hadn't been to Heritage Park for many years and it was great to spend time at Heritage Park!
Far too expensive entry fee, and then have to pay for parking as well!! And only open from 10am to 5pm. Not going to happen. It used to be very reasonable back in the 90's.
Railway Station, cinnamon bun and coffee. Delicious as always!
Little bit Chilly but the bakery is awesome. Good place to see some history
I went to the Nativity event held there in December. It was cold, but very well done. A 15 min glimpse at the journey Mary and Joseph took and the birth of Jesus Christ. Bringing a lap blanket helped keep us warm.
Always a great time with so many things to look at and do.
Really liked the peacefulness and the shops! When we went, the park wasn't fully open but we had such a good time in the shops and down by the lake/pond that it was still a good visit.
A great place to immerse yourself in history ... fun for the whole family.
Sunday brunch at the hotel was delicious. I'd like to visit again come summertime when the rest of the park is ope
Great place to spend the day! Walked around and think we saw everything. It took 5 1/2 hours but well worth it!!!! The best day off from work in 7 years! (A lot of walking to see everything, so be prepared)
I have given five stars but this place is worth more.
What a lovely end to our holiday.
The entrance fee may sound on the high side but everything is included, which is brilliant.
The food, ice cream and drinks were sold at a very low price and for a change they didnt take advantage of the customers.
Some of the staff are volunteers, and every single one made our visit a beautiful one.
What a brilliant day out and I cannot recommend this place enough.
Family really enjoyed the park! Great way to spend the day. Check out Calgaryattractions for some great savings for this park and other Calgary attractions.
A great place to visit, especially for families with young kids. It is a great way for them to learn how things were in the past.
Awesome place to travel back in time to see Calgary at its start
The Wainwright hotel is a great brunch place in Calgary. Good food friendly staff.
Reduced prices and Free parking make going to Heritage park a great bargain during Covid lots to see and do
Cool little blast from the past. A lot of history including the amusement rides. Eat at the restaurant and get the kettle chips.
What an incredible experience. I have to commend the staff. All were well versed in the history of the park. I will be coming back soon. Thank you all.
The best day ever went on a train ride a paddle boar ride a horse drawn carriage walked around all the sites for just 26 bucks
Very nice place and museum, to enter the farmer s market to buy in bulk you have to pay 26$ per adult, other wise you can enjoy the outer scenery and the museum
Kids love to explore there. The train is definitely a bonus. I wish the train station store can be bigger so can accommodate more people when lunch time. And glad there s a new playground to be open.
Love the vibes that this place has. It's my happy place in YYC.
We spent 6 days here with our family. Everyone enjoyed themselves as we saw history preserved. We always stop here when we are in the Calgary area.
If you like trains, western history, or cars, then this is a great place to visit.
Highly recommend!! Steamed train from 1940s, paddle wheel boat, horse-drawn wagon, old time amusement facilities..... Everything is included in the ticket
We love coming here with the family for Christmas every year.
This place is huge with ample parking. Currently (July 2020) not all the attractions are available, so it's good to check the website so there are no surprises
great for a family fun day. park admission seems a little expensive, but isn't if you take advantage of the train rides, boat rides and amusement park. The gift shops are priced fairly as well.
An interesting walk back in time and great place to take the kids with lots of educational things for them to do.
Great value for money.
A cool place to visit Calgary artifacts and learn about settler life
Amazing place. Very well kept, maintained, super friendly staff and hosts.
I haven't been there for a while. On our last visit, we got completely mesmerized by this place. So much to see and experience. Must see for anyone who wants to get a glimpse of early years of development of the Canadian West. People who work and volunteer there deserve lots of credit for their genuine way to interact among themselves. It is living history.
Back in time travel
I love coming to Heritage Park for the Live Nativity Pageant. I come every year with my family on Christmas Eve. This tradition really brings the Christmas spirit to my family during the holiday. We love to get all cozy on the benches with several blankets. It is cold and right by the water so it is important to dress very warm. The Nativity only lasts about 15 min and it is free! It is put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a service to the community. They are not pushy with their religious views. There are provided outhouses. They have live animals that you can take your pictures with and pet as well. The event usually lasts about a week.
Wow!! What s cool place to go. We went to rides in the park. Ferris wheel is more excitement. Feel like we are go back in history to have the experience. We love the rides. And trains looks awesome. Remind us polar express movie. We were excited saw elks in heritage park. There s lot of fun to do in heritage park. We would love to come back again in the future. I would recommend buy tickets at Costco in Calgary. It s cheaper to buy tickets at Costco.
An absolutely amazing place. So much to do and learn!
Heritage Park was great, the kids enjoyed the rides, train, animals, cookies, and the weather today was perfect. We've been a few times and we enjoy it Everytime we go, it's getting to be more fun as our kids are getting older too...a bonus.
Great overall idea of a old town. Little old carnival really comes to life! Little of something for everyone. The map given gives you a rough guideline where things are.
If you are open to it, and take the time to stop and talk, you learn so much! My grandsons learned more than they expected, as did I.
Loved this place...anyone interested in knowing a bit of history then this is a must go to place....train ride was fun too...it was snowing on that day so totally felt like as I personally was in 1900's era...very helpful and welcoming staff...
Great food and service for special events. Gasoline Alley upstairs and down is a lovely space with lots of room and great AV.
The staff is fun and friendly and really get into their roles! The bakery is awesome!
Beautiful representation of history. COVID 19 restrictions in place. Social distancing in place . For kids play area it is crowded but still COVID guidelines followed by staff.
Amazing place, we enjoyed the train, the boat, the rides and everything
Even though we went to this living museum for the first time on the second to last day before it would close for the season, we still had an amazing time! The steam train ride is the perfect way to see everything before you choose where you want to go next. The little guy amusement rides are fun for the kids and nostalgic for the bigger people. We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant there. Can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer and see more of the stores!
Very fun street theater. Nice amusement park. Will be better once the ferry is running again. Live theater at the theater house each day would be great.
The place is really good for families to go. We went just before Christmas and they have lots of activities to do. The staff that works here are great. He admission is a little pricey and the food is a little bit expensive so I highly recommend for families to bring their own water for hydration and bring a coffee on your own. Other than that, I still highly recommend for families to come here as there are Always activities for them to do.
Very cool village. Well worth the entrance fee. Lots of history here. Almost feels like going back in time. Obviously, you need to ride the train and the S.S. Moyie when you're here. Lots of cool buildings and shops. Highly recommend the visit.
Absolutely incredible. Expected to stay 3 hours, stayed 6!
Very cool! Love how there's knowledgeable guides dressed in period clothing in all the historical buildings happy to answer any questions you have about the history of the building.
Excellent place the grand kids loved it too
It is good to have such an excellent heritage site like this right in town
This place is neat-o! There's nice brunch on offer at the Wainwright Hotel.
Everything is really nice and very well explained, although I think the entrance fee is a little bit high
Great to be back! Still lots to do and everyone was very friendly.
Nice place to hang out with family and friends. Nicely maintained heritage town.
Spent a whole day there, loved everything. Staff members are friendly and helpful. Attractions are well maintained. Rode the train and the boat, loved the overall atmosphere. Visited on the August 2017 long weekend. Totally a must see in Calgary.
A wonderful experience during Christmas! Tons of history on the traditions of the different cultures in Calgary. Quint little shops and plenty to entertain the adults and kids alike.
My 9 year old granddaughter loved all of it. Especially the rides and old schools.
It s just beautiful. It s one of those things you should experience for yourself in person not through the pictures.
Went to the fall farmers market there. Great time had by the grand child.
If you have young kids, great place for an annual membership. Good spot for a wedding or event. Lots to see and learn. Great restaurant in Gasoline Alley as well. Parking is paid now but reasonable at 5 dollars per day.
Apart from being a first class historic, step back in history, kind of attraction, it's always so relaxing and cathartic to wonder around. Love Heritage Park.
nice place to visit with the family. my son loved the paddle boat. a bit on the pricy side though
Per my standard, it's the most entertaining place in Calgary, whether you live in Calgary or you are on a tourist. So much to see and explore that full day will be hardly enough. Historical sites, seeing old equipment working, kids educational activities like wood craft, horse cart ride, children amusement park, boat ride and versus dollars spent makes it's most economical place to visit. Please keep in mind to thank the silent and invisible heroes, the volunteer force helping there. One thing which might be considered by management is adding a stone, water or wind mill and selling stone ground flour, old fashioned candies and sweets etc, some commercial activities to make the project sustainable.
That is a great place to go with young children or with visitors from out of town. They have antique rides.
A place to spend one full day. Museums are very informative. Seen so many vintage cars for the first time, and all of them well maintained and look brand new. Outside it filled with fun. Train ride - do not miss
I expected to spend a couple of hours wandering around this place, but it became an entire day and I still did not see and do all that I planned. Just the first exhibit, Gasoline Alley, ate up a good 45 minutes in checking out the old cars and gas pumps while talking to the animators. Most every exhibition structure includes an animator happy to share stories about the building and the old ways of life. I was very pleased to learn that the rides were all free; while I would never pay to ride any of them, I was pleased for the nostalgic trip down memory lane on rides that are comparatively lame to today's amusement parks. Don't pass up those rides. Photographers will have a field day shooting the animators. I actually enjoyed my day here more than a day at the Calgary Stampede. Highly recommended!
Great get away for kids and adults alike. Fabulous food at the hotel. Great candy store and fantastic exhibitions.
It has been a family favourite for years, now its the grandkids turn to fall in love with history and a fun day out with Grandpa's famous picnic! We will be back. It just keeps getting better. Only suggestion is more garbage bins, with the PC recycling and composting movement you forgot old fashioned garbage bins! Not everything can be recycled or composted and with no bins everything was just getting dumped in the recycling.
What not to love about this place?! It's an amazing way to spend the day with the family! It's so much fun! There's a street car that picks you up from the parking lot and takes you right at the door. It's way more than what I expected and glad we came to visit!
This place is amazing. I did not get a chance to see everything while spending the whole day and will definitely go back again and again. The employees all have smiles, friendly and eager to help. If you have ever seen the movie Westworld this is it. Take a walk back in time right in your own back yard of Calgary. I can spend days here and imagine what real life day to day was back in the 1890's was like. I took my grandfather with me and he really enjoyed riding the steam train, watching the blacksmiths and looking at all the neat old cars. He also was informative on most of the buildings and lifestyle questions I had. I got to speak to one of the train conductors and he was very knowledgeable as well as Lorn knowledgeable in all the cars in Gasoline Alley, Katrina at Gasoline alley was also very good at giving suggestions and she even took a picture of me and my grandfather, Claire the server in the wainwright hotel restaurant was great so was the food. Staff is so perfect! Good job Heritage park, keep it up! I recommend to anyone and everyone to visit this place. :)
It was incredible. Something for all ages. Entrance Price inclusive of steam train, horse and carriage, boat ride. I would go again
Here we love the vintage toys and the shops. Thought it was too expensive to go through the Heritage Park, $26 per person, which I would have loved to. The homemade kabuchi was great & the pastries are good also.
Heritage Park Historical Village is a unique and fascinating living history museum located in Calgary, Western Canada. It is a place where visitors can step back in time and experience what life was like in the past. The park covers over 127 acres of land and features more than 180 exhibits that showcase the history of Western Canada from the 1860s to the 1950s.
The park is divided into four main areas: The Hudson's Bay Company Fur Trading Fort, Pre-Railway Settlement, Railway Prairie Town, and Heritage Town Square. Each area has its own unique exhibits that provide visitors with an immersive experience of what life was like during different periods of Western Canadian history.
The Hudson's Bay Company Fur Trading Fort is a replica of the original fort built by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1875. Visitors can explore this historic site and learn about how fur traders lived and worked during this time period.
Pre-Railway Settlement showcases what life was like for early settlers before railways were built in Western Canada. Visitors can see authentic log cabins, farmhouses, barns, and other buildings that were used by settlers during this time period.
Railway Prairie Town takes visitors back to the early days of railway travel in Western Canada. This area features a replica train station, steam locomotive, passenger cars, freight cars, and other railway-related exhibits.
Heritage Town Square is a bustling town square that showcases what life was like for people living in small towns across Western Canada during the early part of the twentieth century. Visitors can explore shops selling traditional goods such as candy stores or blacksmith shops or visit one-room schoolhouses or churches to get an idea about how people lived their lives at that time.
In addition to these four main areas there are also many other exhibits throughout Heritage Park Historical Village including antique car rides around town square; horse-drawn wagon rides through pre-railway settlement; live demonstrations such as blacksmithing or butter churning; interactive activities such as panning for gold or making candles; special events throughout year including Halloween Ghost Tours & Christmas Lights Festival which are very popular among locals & tourists alike!
Visitors will find plenty to do at Heritage Park Historical Village regardless if they're interested in history or just looking for some family fun! There are many activities available for children including pony rides on weekends (weather permitting), playgrounds scattered throughout park grounds so kids can run around while parents relax nearby enjoying picnic lunches under shady trees!
Overall Heritage Park Historical Village offers something unique & special - it provides an opportunity not only learn about but also experience firsthand how people lived their lives long ago! It’s no wonder why it’s considered one of Calgary’s top tourist attractions!
