Herbies Auto Sales Review

I purchased a 2001 Mazda 626 LX there a few years ago and I have to say it was a HORRIBLE experience. I went through their financing team YKS Exceptance. When I test drove the car the "check engine light" came on and my salesman wrote in my contract, "Herbies to fix check engine light, otherwise sold as is" so I agreed to purchase the car. The light ended up going off so they said the car was fine, well it came back on and I had to threaten to sue them to get them to fix it. The check engine light came on about 2 or 3 other times too, over the life of the loan I had with them. Again, had to argue and threaten to sue...I actually had to show them my contract where it says they will fix it if it comes on. I still have the car and it's still ticking. So the car is decent, just had some mechanical issues at first causing the light to come on numerous times. Don't ever go with these guys as your used car guy cause they just flat out suck!

I am going through them because I thought they were the only option I had due to bad credit and no money down. There is always something wrong with my car. Im paying $420+ a month for an 02 blazer and by end of my contraxt I will have paid almost $20k!!! My car broke down once again they kept it for a week then when I got it back it was leaking tranny fluid so bad! I have puddles of fluid all over my drive way. I took it back into them and they refuse to give people a loaner car while they fix yours. My husband just started a job and is now about to lose it cause herbies gives two craps about their customers.

So the other day I wrote a post about herbies when I was extremely upset/frustrated. I do want to say that I really do appreciate Reese for going out of his way to help us. Herbies was unable to give us a loaner car while our car was being serviced again. But Resse understood that my husband would lose his job if he missed work. So Resse has taken him to work on his own time with his own personal vehicle at 4am every morning. Thank you so much Reese me and husband do really appreciate your help. Im sorry for the negative post I left but I was very upset at that moment afraid my husband would've lost his job. So thank you again.

Im still a little upset with things about this company but there are certain employees who do care and go above and beyond to help.

We have now purchased 2 cars from Herbies and both experiences have been good. Both times the salesmen have been very helpful and have made the experience better. We will continue to come back to Herbies.

Several years ago we bought my husband's car here. Great service, no issues, paid off the car without any problems a year early. A couple years ago we decided to get me a newer car and decided to go back to them. What a mistake!!!!!!! Somewhere along the line they changed and not for the better. Car is a lease not financing to buy. They don't give you the balance at every payment (which is suspicious), call to pay off early and they want the full amount due plus another $3k for the purchase option or we can trade in. Hell No!!!!!!!!! As soon as we can we are getting this paid off and be done with their asses.
Also to note they apparently changed names and did not send out a notice. We didn't even know until I went to make a payment and the name was different. Had to call to confirm to make sure it wasn't a scam site.

Would give them a zero if possible. I was not even inquiring to be a customer with them yet in the span of 2-3 hours yesterday, I got 3 phone calls, 2 emails AND a text from Tricia trying to get me to be a customer of theirs. When I finally had a chance to call them back after work, I left message with a front desk gal to remove me from whatever list they had me on. Today I got YET ANOTHER CALL from rude Tricia, and I had to explain to her that she was harassing me for something I didn't even want and I had already asked to be removed from her call list. She then laughed and hung up. I called back very angry to ask if in fact she was actually removing me, and she rudely replied "what am I supposed to do?". I told her maybe before she laughed and hung up on me that she could tell me if she did actually remove me this time. I informed her rudely back that if I get any more solicitation from her that it is in fact harassment and I will call the police to file a report. She laughed again saying there is a post card coming and hung up again. VERY RUDE!

Wanted a credit check before they would even let us look at a car. There own "financing" is a lease to own instead of actual financing. When we said we wanted to find a car we liked before they ran our credit the guy completely checked out and didn't care about helping us anymore. Don't go here.

In November 2012, my wife and I were in need of a car because of an auto accident. We went to Herbies because we knew some of the people there. We were amazingly taken care of. Coached through the process of the deal, felt no pressure and were sold a car we could afford and be proud of. Now, over a year later, we are loving our car and the experience!

These people are seriously amazing. Dave Ramirez and Tyler were the ultimate sales and contract people!! Not at all!! That's what makes me hate going into any dealership... But They made us feel welcomed and totally comfortable the whole time. And they stood by their word! We said we had $500 down and they got us into a 2005 Ford Expedition for just $500 out the door. We have not so great credit as well! So they worked with us and their financing is in house. Thank you HERBIES!!! We are so so so pleased with everything!

Carl went above all of her normal duties to help work out the very best deal for us. Carla even came in on her day off.

They over charged us drastically. About one month after we got it we got into a car accident that totaled our vehicle they would not help by lowering the price. Very rude. One week after we got it had engine light come on. Seriously?!?! DON'T DO IT!!!!

What an amazing experience we had. Nick was amazing and fast. Very professional place. If you have any car needs Go see Nick at Herbies. We were in and an out and he met all our needs.

Lucia & Ray were super helpful & made us feel right at home as well the rest of the Herbies team. They did their best to help us find a car that accommodated all of our needs.Thanks for the wings!

Had to pay extra for repairs within the first few months of purchase. No consideration from the dealership. Even broke down in a different state and had to pay for repairs, hotel, and towing. Still had to make payments and pay for all repairs.

Very well known locally to flat out lie to customers

I'm just gonna say Ray and Trish have become friends to me. On that note I want to also say we are getting ready to buy our 4th car from here and please note 1 is paid in full another will be paid in full soon and both are still in great shape mechinally. Thank you both.

If I can give Herbie's no stars I would. I have a 2002 Chevy suburban from them and I have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS I have owned it for 4 years now and I wish I could just run threw a building. There are SO many things wrong with my vehicle they knew about when they sold it to us. My husband and I have tried to talk to the staff at Herbie's for years now about what's going on with it but all they tell us is it's our fault and we NEED to figure out a way to fix it ourselves. I have had it with them they are rude and could care less about their costumers and families. They were NEVER a family oriented business!!!!!!!!!!!

They have a great selection of cars and some really nice people!! Have been there twice

I went tot Herbies expecting the same pushy poor service I've received in other dealerships in the past, however Mark Llamas was very helpful. He and the rest of the Herbies team worked very hard to not only help me find a car that fit mine and my families needs but made sure that I was could afford it. I now am in a great car that I love! Thank you all so much for everything :)

We were told when we signed our lease that we could refinance any time and that at the end of our lease we could refinance the residual amount. However now after 1.5 years of on time payments we are told that at the end of our lease we will have to trade the vehicle in and pay a 400 leasing fee or pay off the remaining 7000 all at once. Shady and dishonest.

Ray was awesome! He made us feel very welcome! Ray helped us to get into the right vehicle for us! They are very fast and efficient. I will be coming back again and refer some friends.

This was by far the best car buying experience EVER! It was easy, haggle-less, and humane. They made you feel like a person, not a dollar sign. I will defiantly be sending my family and friends their way!

My family has bought several cars from Herbies and have always been treated very well! The warranty plus the $500 service credit they offer has really helped when our cars have needed repairs! I always tell my friends to visit Herbies when they need a car!!! Lot's of finance options too and I didn't have the best credit!!!! Update: Just sent my best friend to Herbie's and he got a car too!!!

Do not buy from here. I got stuck with three lemons. They spend more time in the shop getting repaired than I did driving them. They are con artist and take advantage of people down on their luck. Go to aamco and ask how many of their vehicles are there on a weekly basis. I even spoke to their head mechanic and he couldn't even point to one vehicle in the parking lot he would purchase or even recommend. Do not go here!!!!!

Amazing job was patient with me filled me in with every thing that was going on went above and beyond I will be back!!!

This is one of the worst dealerships I have ever been to they price there vehicles way to high and you don't even get what you pay for so if you want a good dealer to go to I recamend longmont ford they have worked with me twice now and both times helped me out better than Herbie's ever did........ I Would not go to Herbie's ever again!!!!!!

This place really sucks. The people try to be too funny and it sucks cause they're not funny. They lie straight through their teeth. They try to make them selves seem like the best dealership around which they're the worst. . Their cars are WAY over-priced; 2x the REAL price. So I'd advise all you people's; DO NOT GO THERE!!

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE THESE CROOKS YOUR MONEY THE TELL YOU ONE THING AND DO SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, THEY SELL CARS FOR TWICE WHAT THE VEHICLE IS WORTH THEY SOLD ME A CAR FOR 10,000 KELLY BLUE BOOK WAS UNDER 5,000, WHEN I ASKED THEM REPEATEDLY IF I WAS PAYING TWICE A MONTH NO ONE COULD TELL ME THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED

The sales people are great. My problem is the financial strain having a car from Herbies has caused me for over a year. I am on the verge of filing bankruptcy, and since they put me in a lease I can't refinance. My payments are always on time. Never missed one. I have paid over $9,000 on a 2007 Buick Lucerne CXL and I have over $8,000 to go. Between car insurance and car payments it takes 1/4 of my monthly income. I have 2 teenage boys to raise. The only thing Herbies can offer is to put me into a two year lease ( no guarantee if it will lower my payments), and use my car as a trade in. My car in presteen condition is only worth less than $4000. Please think long and hard before getting a car from here. It seems awesome at the time, but eventually you will regret it.
Update: I have noticed that the owner only response to good reviews. I find this interesting.
Update: I had to return the car, and file bankruptcy. This is 100% due ot Herbies not willing to work with a good paying customer.

HERBIES IS RIDICULOUS!!!!! we got referred by a "friend" of ours and my husband got a 08 Ford fusion. The car wouldn't pick up speed, the throttle was stuck open he would go about 5 miles and the car would over heat. The rpm would stay stuck at 7. If he did more than 80 it would chug. He tried taking it in to get fixed and they told him to pay $350 before they could fix it even though it was under warranty. When we were taking it back they said we were ruining their reputation and now they're taking us to court because of it. DONT EVER GO TO THIS STUPID PLACE. WE WILL BE CALLING BBB ON THEM.

Absolutely the worst dealership ever! I ended up trading my van in after the computer module quit and instead of putting onto the last 2 payments i had they said they could help me at all. Not to mention my payments kept being raised after the first 6 months. I started with 193.00 ever two weeks and ended up paying 425$ a month.AND you pay more than 3x's what he car is worth.

I had a wonderful salesman Yoni...they were very prompt on getting a hold of me and getting me in to start the process of me buying a truck...Everyone else was great with me as well I love my truck I got...I would highly recommend Herbie Auto sales to my friends and family..Thank you for doing business with me...

They will charge you an arm and a leg for a car. I have a 2012 ford focus and they charged me 24,000 dollars for that car.

I would rate Herbies and Michael, Tricia, and Dave at a 5 star. All three of them went above and beyond to make sure I got into a car and when something went wrong with that car, they made it right and got me into another one. They are a wonderful sales team that believes in customer service and keeping a life long customer not the bottom line. I would recommend them to all my friends.

Horrible! They sent me an over payment check and stopped payment when I tried to cash my check. I got a returned check charge from my bank when is was there fault sending me a check. They refused to refund my charge. I have had nothing but an awful experience with this entire company! They sold me a piece of junk that I have had to pay thousands of dollars to fix. Transmission went out, TWICE through there "services"

You have to watch what you get from them, we bought a vehicle from them and it was missing parts that was needed to pass emissions and they refused to fix it even though they knew there was a problem. I would look somewhere else before buying anything from them.

We get into what we thought was a great vehicle. Turns out on the driver home, the check engine light comes on and it's gone down hill from there. Every time I turn around something else is going out on it. They do not stand behind what they say. My vehicle has been in the shop more than I've been able to drive it and they don't want to help out with getting it running properly. Don't use them!!!!

If you desperately need to get yourself into a vehicle and you have seriously bad credit issues, this is the place to go. But pay really close attention to what you're signing. They are snakes hiding in the grass when it comes down to the financing. Just go in there with both of your eyes wide open!
