My wife and I recently had dinner at Hemingways. The ambience in the restaurant is beautiful in an understated, elegant way. The area outside the restaurant is calming with a water feature. There is something about the sound of running water that just calms the nerves and soothes the soul. The food is good. My wife ordered the Salmon medium and enjoyed it. I ordered the Seafood platter and it was delicious. The service is friendly, attentive and not overbearing. Our waitress Charity exemplified these traits.

My wife and I enjoyed Hemingways so much that we plan to return during the day and to take our 9 and 7 year old children so they can experience what upscale dining is like.

Hemingways is a delightful hotel nestled in the heart of Karen. With beautiful architecture, a rich history, and stunning views, this is a classy property fit for royalty. For Valentine's dinner, I found the hotel gave a worthy effort but ultimately fell short on the service in ways a property of this class should never find acceptable. Nonetheless, it's hard not to recommend spending an afternoon or leisurely morning at Hemingways.

The Hemingways Nairobi is relatively new. The grounds are spacious and well kept. The public areas are nicely appointed. The service was excellent. For dinner, we had a beef and a pork choice off the menu and each was excellent. Beautiful and relaxing views from spacious suites. Our bathroom had two separate sinks, a walk-in rain shower, soaking tub and walk-in closet with two sets of dresser drawers.

Internet connection is good and complementary. Bed was hard but comfortable with mosquito netting. A limited number of foam pillows are available upon request. Complementary tea, coffee and water. Tea kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. I especially liked the TV that pops up from the chest. Our room had a desk with good lighting and an electronic panel. Outlets by both sides of the bed. The room lighting could be a brighter and the light switches are somewhat tricky to master.
We stayed one night, it provided a great chance to recover from jet lag before rushing into safari

Hosted a 30th surprise birthday lunch on the Terrace facing Ngong Hills. Was absolutely fabulous. The team were extremely supportive and communicated very well during the booking period and setup. The food was amazing and the service from the team on the ground was great. This was my first experience with Hemmingways, will definitely be coming back to experience more. Wish I could give 6 stars.

In the classic colonial style, with a restaurant serving exotic dishes, this place is really very nice. Beautiful gardens and great food in a classic setting. As you would expect, the food is great and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I was told that this is the best hotel in Nairobi - we only came for dinner, but I guess it could certainly be a contender.

We recently went here..a crowd of 9. I made the reservation and was happy with where they sat us. Amazing food and ambience. Recommend it for small events (there was an engagement ceremony and wedding reception & photoshoot happening there that day). Social distancing rules and covid regulations are highly adhered to so dont forget to carry your mask.

The hotel is located in a serene environment surrounded by nature and is extremely tranquil. The reception is humbling and the staff are friendly. I love the rooms, they are spacious, the interior designs of the room is unique, the washroom area in the room is large ,spacious and clean. The food is delicious. You can enjoy the view of the sunset from the balcony of your room. The view at night is mesmerizing! Perfect getaway within Nairobi for the weekend. Can also work as an ideal wedding reception.
