Great location. But sometimes you feel you must be thankfull to be there
Two guys broke our room (#BV-3) at 12:30 night and walked directly into our bedroom even after they saw ladies cloths, bags , shoes in the living area behind the main door, when I was sleeping with my wife. One guy claimed that he had the key of my room and he booked this room. After this incident we dragged two heavy wooden chairs to support and block the door and could not sleep the remaining night. Went to the front desk to report this incident to the manager in the morning, manager was not available and we wasted two hours waiting for him. I shared my Number and Email with the receptionist and Manager Tarry (or Terry or something similar) did not bother to write us back. We freaked out in the middle of night as someone from the management messed up the keys and that spoiled our entire vacation. My wife got so scared that she became sick and wanted to return very next morning. Fortunately that day was our check-out day and we managed to continue with our existing plan of Yellowstone. There was no lock present on the bedroom door and the lock on main door was damaged, it sometimes opened without even completely inserting the key. In a remote area like Moran with no mobile network availability if something goes wrong nobody would come to your rescue. We felt very unsafe, insecure. Fortunately I was not armed, otherwise, this could lead to a very unpleasant consequence.
Also the room was unclean and there was no housekeeping, food was way overpriced.
Stayed here for a festival. They were very nice and accommodating
Had a fantastic time last July! Have a 27 year old with Down Syndrome and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Just look at the views and the size of that breakfast burrito. And the friendliest chicken that hoped up on my son's lap and snuggled with him. Going back this summer!!!
Had a great time here its a ranch knew what to expect staying here seems to be lots of bad reviews it's not going to be like a 5star hotel.. Maybe one small complaint the food is good but pretty expensive
Fantastic experience with a 2-hr horse ride this past June 2020. Guides were great, views were exceptional. It couldn't have been better
Perfect example of an American dude ranch. Great views, yummy food, minutes from south Yellowstone entrance.
Great and unique place. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Well run. Not the usual place. Grest views. Enjoyed our 8 day stay
There is a lot of potential to this place. When we visited, they were still renovating and adding additional bathrooms. We were in a conestoga wagon. It had electric but no heat. Temp's dropped below freezing, but it was plenty warm with the blankets they had. Lots to do with horse rides and other activities. Nice lounge with great views, pool table. Onsite restaurants have great food, made from scratch taste.
We booked our queen room a week in advance staying from December 27th to the 30th.
The pros: they have a nice lounging area with plenty of seating, a pool table, and tv and the staff was polite. The location is good. There are 6 dogs on the ranch which are aloud inside the common area (this can be a pro or con depending on the person) 15% gratuity is included in your purchases
Everything else: When we arrived we had to wait almost an hour to check in because the lady working the front desk had ran an errand and the woman that informed us of this was an employee but on her day off so she was just watching the desk. Once the lady came back and we started our check in process the internet was down (no fault of theirs as their internet provider was down nationwide) so we were given the key to our room and told to come back to the desk when the internet came back.
When we got to our room the bed was a full not a queen, the tub was dirty (still had hair in it from who ever used it before our stay) the bathroom had complimentary shampoo conditioner and lotion bottles like most hotels. The bed had two pillows that desperately needed to be replaced as they were flat and raggedy. There is a closet, a dresser, one night stand, two chairs, a ceiling fan (no a/c of you plan to stay during the summer) and a private bathroom. And the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the next room and outside. There is no daily turn down service.
When we went for dinner the first night the food was lacking in both variety and taste. The prices were very high at 16 dollars a burger and breakfast is not included.
If you want breakfast you have to go down to the cafe at the bottom of the hill which is just as lacking and expensive. I ordered a chuck wagon which is described on the menu as toast 2 eggs hashbrowns and bacon or sausage. This time we waited only about 20 minutes for our food but I was given one piece of toast (that was rock hard and cold) 2 eggs that were cooked to different consistencies one over easy and one well cooked the hashbrowns were replaced with fried potato slices that were like chips and no sausage or bacon.
Dinner the second night was even worse as they had one cook and two servers who also ran the front desk and answered the phones. The restaurant had about 30 ppl in it all coming in at different times. My group ordered mostly burgers which took almost an hour to come out and when they came they had no lettuce, tomatoes, pickles or onions and the bottom bun was still cold. And one of the burgers ordered never came so it had to be reordered and again we waited about 30 minutes for it.
In all I would NOT recommend staying here. Although the staff was polite the service is lacking.
One of the BEST VACATIONS I have ever had. I went here with great expectations and the Heart 6 Ranch far exceeded every every expectation. The Entire Staff was warm, friendly and very engaging. The food was exceptional and the cabins were rustic (it is a dude ranch) but very clean. The beds were comfortable. The views from our cabin were spectacular and overlooked the amazing Tetons.
My family has little to no riding experience but the staff made us feel very comfortable in the saddle. There were also very experienced riders and former horse trainers that were there and they were able to find rides that were challenging and interesting.
The front desk staff was amazing and tried to accommodate our every need. A special shout-out to Becky and her entire family who contributed greatly to our wonderful time. Her kids help with the guests and take amazing pictures of guests on rides so you can just enjoy the moment. They GIVE you a flash drive at the end of your trip with hundreds of pictures.
While we rode most of our visit, we also participated in archery, paintball and the Jackson Rodeo. They also offer other activities like guided fly fishing but I was having so much fun riding with my kids I never got around to it.
My thanks again to the Heart 6 Ranch. We hated to leave and my tween daughter even burst into tears when we had to leave because she had such a great time. These are memories that we will share with our children forever.
I highly recommend the Heart 6 Ranch and plan to return as soon as we can. I can not explain why an earlier reviewer had a bad experience but it makes me wonder if a competitor wrote the review. For a more realistic review of this Ranch, read the more than 50 reviews on Trip Advisor. There are some really heart warming stories about patrons experiences.
Awesome people, fun filled environment and the views are to die for
Beautiful place. But sadly it's grossly mismanaged.
The check in gal and the owner were both extremely helpful when I arrived in the rain at 9pm. I am always impressed when an owner is working right alongside their staff. They set me up in lovely room, that I discovered had a beautiful view of the tetons in the morning. Having climbed the Grand in 1987, it brought back wonderful memories of my many visits to this area in the past. I enjoyed a peaceful trail ride and a lovely afternoon hike the next day. I was grateful to have my sweet room for another night! The cafe makes a terrific Huckleberry milkshake, that reminded me of my days living in Idaho, where Huckleberries are plenitful! The head of housekeeping is a lovely young woman who is a real jack of all trades and loves living and working at the Heart 6 Ranch. I am so glad I happened onto this place off the main road. I will definitely be back!
Absolutely gorgeous. Wood oven, two level bed. Very warm rooms (in October). A lot of animals. Beautiful mountain view. Awful food. Hardly working wifi.
Cold, shabby room. Gravel ground in the tepee makes it full of dust. Big ventilation hole makes your tent essentially as cold as outside. You know how cold Teton can get at night. Very small matress. $150 a night for this? Give me a break.
We were really excited to be out in the Wilderness and sleeping in a covered wagon was quite the experience!
Heart Six Ranch has a wonderful to our rafting tour down Snake River and his view of the great Teton Mountains is amazing, to say the least!
The facilities were adequate.
The dining was way overpriced, so I would suggest you bring your food in a cooler, barbecuing is not permitted.
The wagons do come equipped with pillows and sleeping bag covers, but no blanket pillow cases and sheets as they are a separate purchase. I believe you are allowed to towels a day and you get them from the office.
Issues with this place are too numerous to mention all of them. Suites are double the price they should be and amenities are substandard. Do NOT recommend staying here. There's a reason they have a no cancellation policy!
Enjoyed a nights stay here. I was upgraded to the "honeymoon" cabin and that was very nice. The cabin was very nice and comfortable and has great views of the Tetons and the surrounding landscape. I wish I had more time to spend here. The Internet connectivity was a bit spotty but life without distractions in such beautiful surroundings, is a blessing, not a problem :-).
This place and Buffalo Valley Ranch are basically the same place except by name. The wagons that we lived in were dirty and the floor had lots of dust. The air in the wagon smells terrible because there is no circulation besides leaving the zipper door open. There were black specks on the blanket of the queen bed so it must not have been cleaned properly. One of the blankets for the queen bed is actually a sleeping bag. The entire wagon is extremely cold at night because the only heater barely emits any heat despite being on the highest setting. I thought the close location of the heater to the blanket would be a fire hazard, but that is not a problem since the heater doesn't work at all. In addition to the the heater not working, the bunk beds are also not warm enough to last through a Summer night when temperatures drop to 40 degrees because only one thin blanket is provided. We asked for another heater to replace ours but they said that they didn't have enough and couldn't add another one because it would overload the circuit. The bathrooms and showers are completely filthy. I understand that they are communal, but the staff should at least clean it once in a while. There is even mold growing on the along the edges of the shower. The stairs inside of the wagon are also dangerous because they don't tape a yellow "caution" line along the steps to warn you.
Overall, this place is a dump and I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you don't care about cleanliness and want to live near Grand Teton National Park with 5 or more people in a room to save money.Heart
Worst place. We spent $900 for 2 nights for 2 covered wagons and 1 teepee. Linen costs extra. Wagons were filthy; floors not swept, trash left behind, orange goo on mattress and bed. Bathrooms and showers were not cleaned while we were there. Complained the first day. Told no refunds ever. Had no choice but to stay. Guy was extremely rude.
Don't waste your money.
You cannot reserved a specific cabin. Old or new lodging is THEIR choice-not YOURS. Old cabin beds are terrible. Most views are of cars or dirt. We requested a room with a view & were told all but the old section was booked. So we told office staff not to move us from the new room. Terry changed us to an old cabin anyway! Strangely, we saw new rooms vacant! Terry finally made the move for us to a better room but not w/o complaint. It was a big cluster***! Room, bath & bed were new BUT, the room failed to meet many BASIC STANDARD. ALL sounds could be heard. Normal talking, toilet, shower, door, and couple noises will keep you awake. No ceiling lights in 1/2 of room made it difficult to see in luggage on the floor-no racks or rods (told "it's better not to have them so people don't leave clothes"). No chair to put shoes on or read, no bathroom sink light or drinking glass, no bath exhaust to remove odors/moisture, broken windows-no screens, no outlet for table lamps, broken blinds. Unsafe, deck-unfinished railing-no place to sit outside and enjoy mountains. Lodge great room lights didn't work. Dark exterior stairways. Numerous open switch boxes not wired. No coffee maker requiring you to purchase coffee at their Buffalo Valley Cafe--THE WORST restaurant experience I have EVER had, BAR NONE. A steady stream of complaining customers, ridiculed behind their back for complaining or, as in the cafe--to our face. There are MUCH better choices! Signal Mountain Lodge, a tent, your car?
Worst vacation experience we have ever been on. Booked 3 nights for our 5th anniversary and wished we would've stayed home. The girl at the desk didn't give us any info on their activities at the ranch then handed us a broken boot key chain with our room key on it. We were told over the phone when we booked that it was a cabin with a kitchen but it was just a room in a quad that wasn't any nicer or cleaner then a cheap hotel and they charge $209 a night for that. They put a decent temperpedic mattress on top of worn out box springs, there were stains on the carpet, barely any lighting in the room with no tv, phone, or internet unless you want to use the common area in the lodge that still plays vhs tapes. There is no 5 star chef like advertised on the website just a cafe down the hill at another ranch that is only open until 2pm and charges $10 for sandwiches. There isn't even a soda machine or ice machine on property, you can either drink water out of a thermos in the lodge or out of the bathroom sink in your room. We had to go all the way back to Jackson to buy groceries and drinks and get a cooler to put them in which meant we lived off of sandwiches the whole time because there isn't even a microwave on property. They showed alot of activities to do at the ranch on the website but the only 2 they offered was a river float or horseback riding. We paid $240 to go on a 4 hr (what they call a 1/2 day ride) with lunch included, well it poured down rain the whole time and even though that isn't there fault the other issues were. They use old retired draft horses that are used to pull carts and wagons as trail horses and they don't like to be rode, my wives horse was old and stubborn and she specifically told them she was not experienced with horses and they gave her the most stubborn animal they had. She fought with the horse the entire ride until she finally had enough and wanted to go back, then they said she would have to walk back by herself about a mile to the ranch in the rain and we had seen grizzly bears 50yrds away from us on the way up. The trail they took everyone up was very rugged on a narrow path on the side of a mountain and my wives horse not paying attention because all he wanted to do was eat kept losing his footing and almost dropped her a number of times. When the so called wrangler stopped the group at the top of the hill once my wive said she wanted off she wouldn't even help her down, I had to get off of my huge draft horse and get her down. Then the wrangler's horse was stung by a bee and she couldn't control the animal and he threw he off and went running into other horses with their owners still on and one of the guest horses took off running dumping his rider off and had all the other horses going crazy. When everyone got off their horse and decided they wanted to go back too the wrangler finally called for another wrangler to come help. There were no apologies made by the ranch or wrangler and no money was refunded for the early ended trip then we were all given our lunch which was a pb&j sandwich. The only worker at the ranch that even talked to us or acted like they knew what they were doing around horses was their wrangler Philip Roth the rest of the wranglers looked like summer break college students, I'm just glad we didn't take our daughter and let her ride one of those horses. Don't waste you're money on this place unless you're just using it to sleep after going to Yellowstone or Teton and bring your own cooler and food. Next time we will stay at a hotel, Days Inn has better service, nicer people, and gives you free breakfast not just instant coffee in the lodge.
First off the staff were rude. When I asked why our rooms weren't air conditioned as advertised We were told "nobody has air condoning here, if you want AC go into Jackson and pay $1200!" Went to pay with cash... they don't take cash. Due to Covid there was no bar on site. No room services, at all. However, in the lodge you are free to play with dirty nasty games or press your eye up to a possibly infected covid eye piece on a wore out telescope.
Great people great ride. Make sure you check in below and if it's locked then go around to the side door Cafe
not so great, would not recommend - the guy at the desk yelled at us while hitting the wall, I think he was afraid we would has for a refund. The place is dirty, stinks and has litter all around the rooms. Don't be fooled by the website and film. I did hear that the horse back riding was good.
If it were possible I would give them zero stars. This ranch is not only rude but they are junky. The horses they have are not safe to ride. The horses flipped over multiple times in the river. The management is also a bunch of cheats. Not only do they treat their employees terribly they refuse to pay them after they had to leave due to injury. Go anywhere but the Heart 6.
Not bad not good. The room we had was a family room two queen beds a bunk bed and a pull out couch. No microwave no fridge. For what I paid it would have been nice to have these or a free breakfast.... we didn't spend any time in the room or the ranch except to sleep. Way too expensive for what we got but everything is in or around the park.
Kat was awesome. She definitely has the gift of hospitality. Kinda disappointed in no coffee in the morning. Bought the coffee cups never used it cause the cafe wasn't open yet. Souvenir I guess.
Horrible! Beware this place is gross and very poorly constructed. Not safe
Lovely ranch at the entrance of the Grand Teton National Park (Moran junction). Friendly staff. Excellent sightseeing nearby. The food served at dinner is genuine and good. We got an excellent cheese burger. The maintenance & cleanliness of the rooms could be improved.
Staying in a tepee was novel. Having functioning bathroom facilities nearby would have been better. Knowing I'd be banking with someone else on second night would have been nice. Food was good. Server (David) was great. Rest of staff needs a bit of seasoning. Early in year, I'm sure.
This place was filthy, floors and bathroom were dirty upon arrival, repeatedly asked for cleaning service and the young man who cleans the rooms obviously doesnt know how to clean and is quite rude. Stayed in someone else's filth for a ridiculous amount of money. The deck was hanging off the back of the building, mice droppings at doorway. No wifi here, don't be fooled. Walls are so thin you can easily hear the other occupants. No fans or cooling and the windows have no screens, so it's either bugs or heat. Just an overall bad stay and very overpriced. Staff just tries to rush you away if you have a complaint and wont come see what you are talking about, just keep sending the same person to clean who obviously doesnt know what clean is.
We had very bad experience with this Ranch! It ruined our whole vacation plan in Teton National Park! We booked three nights from Hotel.com, according the description, the room with private patio and view. When we checked in, we were in a hurry to find a restaurant to eat something, so we did not checked the room carefully at once. When we came back, we found not only they gave us a room very dark with just a very tiny window like a cave, Never like what it described in the hotel.com, but also this room just next to common area and bar, very noisy! It was 9:30 PM, we called the front desk, but nobody took the call. The place also had very bad phone signal, we both are using version service by the way, so we had to drive out to find a place to make the call! We called hotel.com to ask to deal with this issue, hotel.com told us they would give us the full refunds , and they also called the ranch and left voicemail. Hotel.com told us they would follow up and let us sustain one night, then next day they would call us. We sustained the noise until 11:30PM until we were forced to ask the guests in bar and common area to lower the voice, it was very bad experience and embarrassing! Originally we planned to get up early to do a few activities, but with the noise and upset feelings, we almost could not sleep whole night! This early morning, we packed our stuff and left. Whole day today, we had been waiting for hotel.com to call us and give up the follow up, but until 3:00pm, none of hotel and ranch called us! Then we called hotel.com, we were told they emailed the ranch, but the ranch disagree to fully refund and told us nothing they could do, but just give us one night voucher. We called Ranch to explain the situation, not only they did not apologize to give us the wrong and very noisy room, but also insisted on non refund. We asked to escalate to the manager, then they put us on hold forever, and we left voicemail, they never called us back! This Ranch and Hotel.com kicked the ball to each other and forced us , true victims to take very unfair consequence! When we found the issues, we reported timely and wanted to address the issue, but they delayed and intended not to solve it, just because they thought they took the upper hand to hold our paid transactions! If you don t want to experience the same, never choose this Ranch! And we will continue to appeal and even seek for legal action ! Not only they took our money, the most important thing is that they ruined our precious family vacation time
It is located southeast of Grand Titan National Park just below Yellowstone. When the surroundings are expensive during the summer, it may be advantageous to stay and tour here. There are tippies and wagons, and there is a propane heater inside the wagon to prepare for cold weather. Just bring your own sleeping bag.
This place is really cute, and the staff were mostly courteous. The food at the restaurant was also pretty good, but not much variety, nothing for a healthy diet, and very expensive. I loved that they are dog friendly so my little velcro-dog could come along. The rooms in the lodge DO get kind of noisy- the doors are thin and you can hear everything from the bar below and from the "vacant" adjoining rooms and public/shared bathroom. There are also no fridges in the rooms and no cooking of any kind allowed by guests which meant I couldn't bring my own food to supplement the poor variety available elsewhere. We did make the mistake of not making sure our room would be handicap accessible. We weren't expecting the stairs we'd have to navigate, but that was our own mistake. I suspect there are no ADA accessible rooms though.
Honestly, I want to leave a better review BUT our first night there the bed frame broke and the mattress crashed to the floor while we were sleeping. We notified management who attempted to fix it, then told us that all the bolts in the bed frame were stripped and that the previous guest had also had a problem. They tightened the frame and told us the bed would be replaced for us the following day. The bed did not get replaced, though, and on the 3rd night the bed collapsed again. When we again notified the manager of the problem, he tightened the frame and told us he wouldn't replace the broken bed until after we left. An awfully expensive reservation to sleep half our nights there in a broken and very uncomfortable bed, and no more than an apology offered to resolve the problem. Very disappointing.
For such an expensive establishment the amenities and furnishings are extremely poor. I've seen better in cheap motels. At the existing price point I'd skip it.
We only went Horse Back Riding here. This is one of the few places that offered horseback riding during the September season. Its about 40 min away from Teton Village which isn't bad. We had beautiful views of the Snake River, Grand Tetons and autumn foliage. Our leads were amazing- Brooklyn. The only thing its a big group so we were separate pretty much the entire ride in other words barely to get photos and videos of each other. Also, I believe it was the ranch manager or owner? was scolding and yelling and belittling some of the employees on the ranch twice in front of us which made it a little awkward. But overall, a pretty good experience!
Honestly giving this place a 1-star review (and you can't rate something 0-star) because atleast we had beds, the surrounding area was GORGEOUS, and we were eventually able to get our rickety shed door to dead bolt after using all our muscle to lift the door up enough to connect to the frame. (Without the dead bolt somebody or something could have easily kicked down the door) WE DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR AND WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE ROOM WE BOOKED. THE AMOUNT YOU PAY FOR EACH NIGHT IS NOT WORTH WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN. PRICEY PRICEY PRICEY and also - mind my language - SH*TTY SH*TTY SH*TTY. STAY SOMEWHERE IN THE PARK VS HERE. Lesson learned! We were charged $320 for a two night stay - i recommend paying a little bit extra to stay in the park and sleep comfortably!
Would have rather just camped in a tent then stay in Cabin C1 or C2. I can't speak for the other cabins but MAKE SURE you do not end up in C1 or C2.
SIDENOTE : Buffalo Valley Ranch and Heart Six Ranch are THE same place. so when you book online make sure you know that - the names just have "historical meaning" and that is why they have not combined it into one.
Restrooms are not kept up. Missing toilet paper and hand towels.
The 3 nights we were there the room wasn't cleaned, dirty linens were not picked up, trash was never touched and I would never consider staying here again . THE shower curtain was old and dirty, BAD SERVICE ALL AROUND..or lack if.
Neat place. Views are wonderful. Be patient during low staffing times.
Breathtaking landscape but did not like it much that you get to hear what happens in the neighboring rooms and the blinds are let you see the interior of the room by spaces in the window. The restaurant of the same name is amazing, wonderful snacks.
The walls on our $270/night place are paper thin. The sink is OUTSIDE of the bathroom. There is no place for the four of us to put our stuff even though it said it was for four people. There is no room cleaning, no fridge, no ice, the customer service is terrible and the food is outrageously expensive. On the plus side the location is pretty nice.
Rustic lodging. Staff was outstanding. Would love to go back and spend more time there.
I was inly there to go horseback riding but it was the best place ive riden before. Not a tough or rough ride but it was a lot of climbing!
The Heart Six Ranch was quite the experience for this City Slicker - some of it, most of it good. Some of it, not so good. GOOD - grounds, location near Jackson Hole and two National Parks. The food - simple but OUTSTANDING. BAD - sleeping and bathroom facility - awful and over-priced.
The views were spectacular. There's a windy river and nature clustered path I enjoyed for hikes in the brisk mornings (warning - Summer or not, temperature falls 40 degrees when the sun sets). The on site cafe made amazing meals. I couldn't get enough good food.
However, three stars come from paying 130 a night to sleep in a dirty tipee. I wouldn't complain so much at raw camping prices. But splintered floor, dirty mattresses and a under supplied gross community bath doesn't cut. Not to mention, it's well over 30 yards from the Tipee - great fun at 2am. Bottom line -check it out. It's great fun and a pretty ranch that sadly suffers from understaffing and weak management (employees work hard). Bring a sweat shirt even in Summer and consider sleeping in the lodge if you don't spend nearly 300 for a cabin.
Checkin - process took time and the person at the counter could have been more friendly & attentive. He was on a video call while he was checking us in.
Rooms - basic, no A/C, bathroom curtain was really old and stained. Sink and tub needs dusting and cleaning.
Food - two burgers with fries cost us $30 + 15 service charge which I thought was expensive. And it almost 1/2hr or more to give us the 2 burgers
Would I return again - No and certainly not worth for $152
