Wish was a zero to give this company. I am on hold once again now trying to get a supervisor over issues lots of them described here. Really they should be reported to some entity. They are just taking our money and not providing service they are too provide.

Terrible dental insurance. Im insured by them through work. They denied my claim on a crown I need because they paid a claim to my prior dentist who never rendered the service. Now after they investigate and requested a refund they send me a letter directing me to find a new dentist. I find a new dentist and they denied my claim. Apparently until the dentist who got paid for the work that was never done sends them a refund they won't approve my claim. Its been 1 year and a half and im still back and forth trying to get my crown approved. Each time that I call them they act as if I havent explained the situation a million times keep me on the phone about an hour just to say they will respond when its resolved. Its so ridiculous trash insurance only reason I have them is because my job pays for it
I was trying to renew my plan for two weeks and every time I call they say they cannot help me. They refuse to answer any questions. The only thing they say is go online. Online it dose not have the dentist I currently go to listed under the plan that I currently have and and trying to renew. Not sure what's going on at this place but they should be there to help customers.
This healthplex team do not speak English. Most of the call center people do not understand English. They will give you hard time. You will feel like you don t want to call them again. Please do something for the members.
I have been trying to get a referral for a pediatric dentist for the last 3 or more months and it has been a nightmare to say the worst...Been on phone with their representative multiple time asking them to provide an approval to see a pediatric dentist within the network and they did provide twice but to a dentist office not of my choice...they keep asking me to call my primary dentist and ask them to fax the correct address for the pediatric dentist that i wish to take my kid and my primary dentist keep sending them the correct name and address...(once i made the primary dentist fax the correct name and address in front of me...and also got a copy of the faxed copy) yet Healthplex keeps sending referral to consultation for a wrong dentist office... God help them... Like some comments i read, i too would like to given them zero rating...
Before I sign up with my new health Insurance they contract with Healthplex for Dental coverage. I called and waited on hold but like others who reviewed before me the called was never picked up. Poor impression and customer No service. To add to my stress I sent them multiple emails asking them 2 simple questions. Are you a PPO or HMO? What Dentist can I see in my area? Every response I received from Healthplex kept asking me to verify my policy after telling them I am a prospective customer doing my due diligence. Needless to say I did not sign up with Healthplex(:
My recent experience has been a nightmare. 3 months ago the dentist said that I needed periodontal work, and that they would send my xray to the Healthplex for approval and referral to to a periodontist. A month later I heard nothing and tried to call the dentist. They never answered my calls nor returned my messages. I then called Healthplex and learned that the dentist never submitted the information. I then went to another dentist who submitted the required information. 3 weeks later I was told that their address was changed. The info was again submitted and they claimed that they did not recover it. Yesterday the dentist submitted the info for the 3rd time with certified mailing. In the meantime my teeth and gums are worsening. I want to know why is it that the dentist is not allowed to submit their referrals directly to the specialist.Needless to say I m extremely dissatisfied with Healthplex. The incompetency and lack of care is unbelieveable, and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Stay away from them.
Please do yourself a favor and don't apply for this plan. I paid for the entire year and the insurance Healthplex DHMO was not even been taken by all the dentists in the list of providers. All of them said they no longer take it. I called Healthplex multiple times to cancel my membership so they would direct me to another location which said they don't cancel individual plans. So I call them back up and every time the customer service representative wouldn't know how to cancel a plan they would ignore me. They would forward me somewhere else or completely hang up on me. I email the billing department and they said they won't give me a full refund because a new card was sent to me, which the dentist I was sent to doesn't even take that insurance. I deseve a full refund since I never used the dental insurance because 1. They send me to dentists who don't take it or 2. They never took notes of my many attempts to cancel the plan....They refuse to send me a full refund because "nobody took earlier notes" of my attemps to try to cancel it.
The dentist that I am forced to go to can t write a script for pain killers other then Tylenol number 3 and they have no ability to sedate their clients either. For somebody who has severe anxiety such as myself that just doesn t work. I HATE this insurance!!!!
