I was assigned this Dr from my insurance. I read the reviews but still decided to give him the benefit of doubt. I arrived at the office, it was ran down. Their office equipment is very old. I was interviewed by the nurse. I have many years of lung and breathing issues so it took a while, then a student Dr came in, I had repeat myself all over again. I explained that I have had several specialists diagnose me with a cold triggered stubborn asthma, she mentioned she could hear my wheezing. Then the Dr came in (without a mask). He asked what are you here for? For the third time I had to repeat my medications, my diagnoses, what the previous Dr. s have done. When I told him I need two knee replacements he told me I don t give pain killers, you will have to find another Dr for that! , first of all I never asked for any, second if I wanted pain meds I would get one out of the bottle of the ones I got from from my knee surgery 2 years ago... With my other health issues he started suggesting treatments I had already done and did not work for me. He started questioning me on why my Dr gave me mg of my high blood pressure meds. He was so rude and refused to listen to me. I stood up to walk out. I have NEVER been so disappointed by a Dr visit in my whole life! I had better care when I had no insurance and went to a free health clinic in South Central LA

My father in law was a patient of Kelada's for several years. When my Father in law left his office after an appointment last month he immediately had a heart attack and had to be taken to the ER. Although my father in law was having many symptoms leading to a heart attack, which is why we made the appointment ( shoulder pain, high blood pressure, and chest pain) he refused to listen to more than one complaint or symptom. My father in law was trying to tell him when Kelada told him to stop talking and only talk about one symptom. Kelada prescribed him a higher dose of blood pressure medication and sent him on his way. Literally, as soon as my father in law got in the car he started to go into cardiac arrest and had to be taken to ER. He ended up getting two stents and is fine now, thanks to the doctors at the hospital. They were all shocked that my father in law came straight from a doctors office and that Kelada behaved the way he did.
Kelada is a horrible doctor and needs to retire. He does not care about his patients.

Dr. Kelada was my mother's doctor while she lived in an assisted living facility. When my mother started to rapidly loose weight, become more forgetful, and lost her appetite, I sent a letter to Dr. Kelada requesting that my mother be allowed to take a daily vitamin, and I explained why I wanted that for her. I included previous lab results and offered to provide peer review studies that would support this simple request. Also, I asked that she be allowed to have a daily dose of Omega 3, a required nutrient for everyone, but especially the elderly and those suffering from dementia. Her skin is peeling away and bruises almost to the touch. After waiting four weeks I realized that Dr. Kelada was not going to even respond to my request, however, I was informed by the facility that my request had been denied, with no explanation. I work with geriatric doctors every day, so I know that there was no conceivable reason for denying her this basic and simple request. If there was, it would have been a kindness to inform me, since I'm obviously distressed over her decline, and I had gone to all the trouble of writing and support a letter to this doctor. (I also put same request through nurse at mom's facility to pass along to Dr. Kelada), I have found it nearly impossible to be involved in the care of my mother. Very, very sad. Very distressing.

I rate them ZERO. or 5 if we are rating them on unprofessional, foul, uncaring and heartless office with a foul smelling odor. This 'so called' doctor refused medical treatment to my aging mother (TODAY 2/11/14 ) who was referred from the Mercy Hospital upon release for follow up treatment.
My mother has been bleeding internally and needs immediate treatment!!!!!!!!!! or "Urgent" treatment as the release forms states from UCD on 2/10/14
When they realized mom's coverage was not transferred entirely from Yolo Co. and is "pending" in El Dorado County, they refused to treat her.. I asked if they could print out the reason behind the 'refusal of treatment' as Mercy hospital referred her there. The receptionist offered to print out the coverage denial to help us expedite the process of having my mothers paperwork properly taken care of. I asked if they were refusing treatment they stated 'no,' they could not accept her Medical payment.
The sign on the office stated they accept 'walk-ins and cash.' When we offered to pay cash as a second option the "Doctor" stormed into the reception room and informed his staff they will give us nothing and came after me verbally!!!!!!! He stated "She is not my patient and will not be my patient." and told me 'I had wasted enough of his staffs time then insisted they not speak to me and had them call the Police Department on me.' I explained again that all I wanted was the refusal in writing in which he said he was going to provide then rescinded and would not leave without something to provide to her worker,
I offered to call for him...
The audacity, discrimination and pure unethical treatment of this doctor who rescinded the 'agreement to give me the paperwork he originally stated he would provide' REFUSED medical treatment to a senior chose to call the Police Dept on me for asking for written paperwork denying his treatment for my mother is seriously out of line not to mention DISCRIMINATORY. Not only would I say to stay away from someone with such clear hostility....Perhaps if he cleaned his filthy, stale, moldy smelling office he could be a better provider should know I will proceed further.
And for the record, the Police were awesome and very understanding of our concern and gave me information to pursue further.
I will be forwarding this information to all of my friends at the Capitol, the Medical Board and an Attorney. Wrong day and wrong family...if something happens I blame you Sir, and attempt to remember we are a holy family. God doesn't like ugly!

But I know DR.Kelada cares about his patients because he is thurough and has ordered test on me and my wife to rule out anything. There is always two sides to the story! I have been a patient of Dr Kelada for 5 years. He has treated me for various conditions with quick and accurate diagnostics every time! He is very accessible, with appointment given often for the same day, if not for the next day. Waiting room waiting is minimal. As any physician is, when occasionally tired, he can show a little impatience. It is very hard to find a better family doctor these days.
