HAWK Photography Review

Amazing experience from beginning to end. First we had a photo shoot for church family and the shots came out amazing! They captured all of the angles, expressions, and scenery we were looking for. The quality of the photos is almost surreal and the editing done to the photos was beyond what I was expecting. Hawk Photography are definitely the professionals you want to go with. They were on time and pleasant and had a sense of joyful passion about their work.

I really loved our engagement sitting and the fact that it was outdoors. Daryl was professional and knowledgeable as he posed us. I'm happy that we were able to involve our kids in the sitting. While the engagement sitting was included in the package - the photos are not, so asked questions - we didn't. With that being said, the quality of the photos were beautiful and I had to have them on display at our ceremony. My wedding was 9/5/19 so I'm still waiting to see pictures of the ceremony and reception. If they are anything like the engagement sitting I will be happy.

Hawk Photography was great! Daryl and is team were super easy to work with and developed a photo/video package that fit my needs. His team (Shawn and Ken) were both great and arrived right on time! The pictures came out beautiful and Shawn did a great job capturing the perfect group shots of me and my husband with our wedding party. We got the pictures back quickly and still can t stop looking at them. I definitely recommend Hawk Photography!

I am not speaking about their ability to photograph but in dealing with them while we were choosing our photographer. They may be great with their photos and all of that but I do not enjoy being called even after I have informed them that we have chosen our photographer already. Hawk Photography seems to think that we will up and change our photographer if they call and send us emails. They may be great, but this review is based on deliberation, not experience.

As a bride to be I shopped around and did my homework before choosing a photographer and videographer. My main concern was cost, being a bride on a budget this is one of the most expensive aspects that goes into your day. I choose Daryl Hawk because he was willing to work with me on the price of his services. I am over joyed with the quality and service I received from Hawk Photography. His team was very professional and unobtrusive on our wedding day as a result my prints, album and video are absolutely phenomenal. I have no regrets at all about using them for my big day! I would recommend Hawk Photography to anyone who wants great service and quality.

I had Jessica as my photographer. She was very sweet and professional. Despite the humid July weather the photos came out great! We also enjoyed our engagement photos. The session was quick and easy. highly recommend!

My wife and I chose Hawk Photography after finding them on The Knot. We were planning a wedding on a budget and Hawk understood that and was able to work in our price range. The photographer we had for our wedding was easy to talk to, professional, and faded into the background. He shot lots of great portraits of our family. We went back to Hawk Photography to create our wedding album and again they were able to work within our budget. I definitely recommend them!

I have nothing but the upmost grandiose things to say about both Daryl and Frank. First off they arrived super early and took unscheduled photos and videos. This was a delightful surprise! Not only were they polite and professional throughout the whole wedding, but they bonded with my family and friends and even remembered names! They made my guests feel comfortable and important. Daryl and Frank were patient and productive and did everything with a smile from the heart. You can tell that this is not just a job for them, but more of what they love doing.

Daryl has an eye for catching the best photos, light, scenery, etc. He catches the best moments. It is absolutely impeccable. Prior to my wedding I sent Frank a detailed email of the various things I wanted him to record. On the wedding day I saw him doing exactly what I asked for and coming up with even better suggestions. They definitely dotted their Is and crossed their Ts without leaving one stone unturned. Aaaammmmaaazzzziiinnnnggg work!

I made a vow on my wedding day to recommend Hawk Photography & Video to all of my family and friends. Daryl and Frank were PERFECT in EVERY WAY and I will make sure to honor them by sending family and friends their way.

Upon contacting Tom and Daryl at Hawk Photography they were immediately professional and responded quickly to every email and phone call I made throughout the entire process. We truly had a great experience with Hawk Photography!! They did our wedding on June 28th, 2014, They were always easy to get a hold of and kept in contact with us as our wedding got closer. Our photographer, Richard, was very professional and he listened to our wishes which was great!! We would definitely recommend Hawk Photography to other people for their wedding!! :-)

Hawk photography was great! The photographer and videographer were unobtrusive and so friendly. They really worked with us and were able to capture all the photos we requested. I would (and have already) recommend Hawk Photography to anyone in search of a wedding photographer. We did not meet the actual photographer prior to the day, however, after speaking with her on the phone I looked up her portraits and felt very comfortable and happy with our choice to go with Hawk Photography. Daryl from Hawk Photography has been amazing from the start. During the initial phone consultation, he was very informative, welcoming, and listened to what my husband and I wanted out of our wedding photos. He followed up with me throughout the entire year leading up to our wedding, and was always available to answer any questions that I had. He got to my wedding ceremony even before I arrived and was already taking photos. So many of my guests came up to me telling me what a fantastic job he was doing. He was so friendly and all of my friends and family liked him! He showed me a few of the shots he got on his camera and oh my are they gorgeous! I absolutely cannot wait to receive my wedding photos. A photographer is one of the most important aspects to a wedding, for they are your everlasting moments and memories of your once in a lifetime day. He took real candid shots, not just posed. This will show off a person s true self. You MUST choose Hawk Photography for your wedding day photos, I promise you will not regret it. I could not be more pleased with his services.

I write this review after having originally hired Hawk Photography for my wedding and then ending the relationship prior to the wedding. Hawk Photography was not enjoyable to work with to say the least. We felt pressured to sign the contract initially and fell prey to a "great deal". When it came time to do our engagement photos Daryl was less than thrilled to take pictures with our dog (even though he encouraged us to bring him along) and told us to put him in the car after about 10 minutes. We felt rushed during our engagement shoot and when reviewing our pictures after as he had a wedding to get to. We also were told that day that our engagement "sitting" was included in our overall price but not the photos themselves. We had to pay hundreds just to get our engagement photos. In the end, they showed up damaged in a regular USPS envelope and had to be re-sent to us. The picture quality was actually very nice and we loved our pictures but working with Daryl was not enjoyable and he just left a bad impression on us early on. We were very glad to change prior to our wedding day and were much happier with who we ultimately chose.

All I can say is WOW! These guys were spectacular and even our guests were blown away by the service that was provided!

They have top of the line equipment, came early and stayed late. Daryl and Frank went above and beyond for sure. Their attention to small details is amazing and makes all of the difference. I will be using them again for any further events that I host.

Do yourself a favor and hire this guys. You will not be disappointed.

I just want to first off by saying how professional and courteous Daryl has been with myself and my now husband from the very first time we met him. Our first meeting with him was the morning after a pretty bad snow storm and he drove all the way to meet us with no hesitation. We had a pretty tight budget and Daryl worked with us every step of the way to make sure we got what we wanted at an amazing price, his business has exceeded our expectations and beyond.
On the day of our wedding, Isabelle was our main photographer and how lucky we were to have her! She was so enthusiastic and did not hesitate to jump in and make sure we got the shots we wanted. We loved her and all of our guests enjoyed her enthusiasm and spontaneity I recommend Hawk Photography to anyone I know who is getting married, based on my experience, they have been what we wanted and more. Words cannot express how pleased we are with the service that was provided to us!

Hawk was great! I was able to create a package with all of the items I wanted and stay within my budget. There team was very professional, friendly, and hard working. They always seemed to be in the right place at the right time but were very unobtrusive. The hard part now is narrowing down the photos for our album - they all are great!

We used Hawk Photography for our engagement photos and our wedding. I must say I could not be happier with my decision. Everyone was professional and friendly, and made my wedding day go smoothly:) The photographs are beautiful and the turn around time was very quick (2-3 weeks!!!!). Daryl Hawk and his team did not disappoint. The photos that Mike took were beautiful and he was a great sport. It was in the 90's on our wedding day and he went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time while taking pictures. Daryl was also great to talk to and to work with. We told him from the start what our budget was and he came up with a great package for us. Once I received my photos, I found myself overwhelmed with emotion seeing our story being told. Darly Hawk was a wonderful Photographer. We strongly recommend him! He's professional, easy to work with and delivers!

If you want quality work do not book with Hawk! There was little to no editing, no special or unique touches to the photos. The photos and video we recieved were so plain one of our guests could have taken the pictures and the video. There was no talent needed for the photos and video we recieved. It has been 2 years since our wedding and we are still very upset with our photos and video from our wedding. We spent alot of money for poor work and quality. Save yourselves the stress and disappointment and look elsewhere.

i do not recommend this place, find a better photographer, he sent a different guy to the wedding, i asked the guy for hawk and the guy told me that he does business with hawk that hes a sub-contractor photographer, my pictures don't even look professional, this guy is terrible i got married May 11-11. stay away from this guy

Richard was amazing! He was very familiar with our location and knew exactly where to take the best photos. He was down to earth and laid back...but most importantly, he was patient with us and our children (and even more patient with our moms LOL). Our pics were ready in just 2 weeks and we are extremely happy! We could not have asked for a better experience!

My husband and I just received our photos back from our wedding day and we are thrilled! Our photographer, Shawn, did amazing work capturing our day. She was very personable and easy to talk to. She got all of the shots that we had requested. It is clear that she has a very creative eye as she set up artful poses during our wedding party pictures. She was extremely kind and patient as she organized groups of people in various poses. We received the CD with our wedding pictures two weeks after our wedding as promised. We definitely recommend Hawk Photography to others!

Choosing Hawk Photography for our wedding was a great experience. Daryl Hawk was a kind, artistic presence on our big day and a pleasure to work with. If I could give Hawk Photography 0 stars, I would. Our wedding was close to a year ago already and I hate looking at our wedding photos. It was a complete WASTE of money. Better photos could ve been taken on an IPhone. Darryl insisted we used him and he would give us a great deal . He offered us a free engagement sitting but had to be at his property and the photos were very poor quality. Little to no effort on posing us. He pressured us into buying photos - we had to have engagement photos RETAKEN with another photographer. In the coming months that we d be married our contracts had dates listed as to when the payments to him would be due, he hounded has for money before the payment dates.. we finally paid him so he d stop calling and texting. Finally, it s our wedding day.. he spent more time eating and walking around our venue than taking pictures. THEN, tells our wedding coordinator tell them to hurry up and cut the cake so I can leave he then left an hour earlier than our contract stated.

Hawk Photography is really amazing! You can stop searching and just pick this studio as your next wedding photographer! After searching the internet and closely examining multiple photographers I decided to meet with Daryl. I loved his work and found his packages to be extremely affordable. His personality was easy going and flexible and he was very open to hearing about my ideas and needs for the wedding day. He walked me around his property where he normally does the engagement sittings. The rock and flower gardens, woods, and pond with a waterfall were all spectacular. Needless to say we had more than enough photographs to choose from after the session. He also delivered the entire enlargement order to us in less than a week! On the wedding day itself, Daryl was friendly and very professional. The guests were all raving about him and excited to see all of the photographs online 10 days later. Even though it started to drizzle during the portrait session he was still able to come up with breathtaking photographs with beautful light in every shot. One thing I learned from Daryl is not to let the rain stop you. When it came to the reception he blended right in and was very unobtrusive throughout the entire event. His artistic eye is wonderful and he not only captured the events of the day but the entire energy and vibe of it all. His positive attitude is a real blessing on a wedding day when people tend to be tense to begin with. We got compliments all night long on how wonderful Daryl was. We are so happy he was part of our perfect day. If you are still looking for a wedding photographer, we highly recommend HAWK PHOTOGRAPHY of Wilton, CT!

Daryl consistently checked in with me prior to my wedding. He was very friendly and professional. The day of the wedding he was on time, non-invasion we didn t even realize he was snapping pictures.

If I could give him a ZERO star review I would! Overcharges first for use of shutterfly as his printer $275.00 for a book made from shutterfly. He signs a contract that he does NOT follow he left wedding 2 hours early signed contract said UNLIMITED photos of which he took 634 and all wedding coverage he stayed 5 hours missed all the dancing. Took NO pictures of husband and his mother together then said I was supposed to tell him we wanted that done. Who doesn t take parent pictures? But yet took 15 pictures of a car without us in it? Hounded use for payment blowing up our phones. Still haven t received wedding albums 4 months now and he blocked our number so cant get a hold of him. STAY FAR AWAY from this photographer. Too many issues to list. Very unhappy with service:(

We thought we were getting a great deal but you get what you pay for. First of all, every time we spoke to Daryl, he tried to sell us more photography hours after he told us when we booked the package we had the perfect amount of hours. Second, we asked if he and the other photographers would pose us. He said absolutely. This definitely didn t happen. My husband and I basically have the same pictures both engagement and wedding with the same poses, which are kind of awkward and boring. Third, we booked videography through Hawk because Daryl said, our photographers and videographers have worked multiple weddings together so they don t get in the way of each other. Not true. I was there on the wedding day when the photographer and videographer introduced themselves to each other. They also got in each other s way. Fourth, Daryl tried to bribe us for a 5 star review before we saw photos or the video by offering us a free portrait if we gave him 5 stars and when I didn t do it, he called me multiple times to remind me. Fifth, the video is still not done after 10 months. The date was wrong and it s really not that great. I probably could have made a better video. It goes in and out of focus and the sound is choppy in parts. The reception plays entire songs which gets boring to watch. Sixth, the communication has been very poor. I d email Daryl with a question or looking for an update and he would say he d get back to me and never did. Overall, my husband and I are pretty disappointed. The wedding and engagement photos were pretty good but the video is not, as we can t even get a copy that has the correct date on it. I would not book services with Hawk Photography again.

Neither my husband or I have ever felt comfortable in front of a camera before being photographed by Daryl and his team. Danny( videographer) , George (photo booth) and Daryl were so kind, fun, and knowledgeable that they quickly put us both at ease. The session was relaxed and fun, which allowed for photos that captured both our personalities. When we saw our gorgeous pictures we were amazed at how we loved every single one.
Beyond being an amazing photographer, Daryl is also extremely professional. He responds to emails quickly and goes above and beyond to make sure the entire process goes smoothly. We worked with Daryl planning the logistics from California for our wedding in Connecticut and he was extremely flexible with when we were available to meet him, take engagement photos and makes plans. Richard Diamond was our wedding photographer and he was fantastic! The photos are amazing and he captured everything we discussed. Richard was able to get all of the important photos without taking away from anything going on the entire day. We would highly recommend for quality and price!

I used Hawk Photography for my wedding photos just a couple of weeks ago. With my package, I got a free engagement sitting. We met Daryl at his studio in Wilton, CT where he took about 100 photos in 30 minutes. Afterwards, we went inside and look through the pictures to see if we wanted to order any. The sitting is free, but you do have to pay for the enlargements. We ended up getting 1, 8x10 photo and 3, 5x7 photos. We received them pretty quickly in the mail, which I was excited about and they came out great! Daryl was our photographer on the day of our wedding and he was excellent at communicating with us leading up to the event. He was at our venue early and ready to go. He took beautiful photos including the first look with my dad and husband. He made sure to get the photos I had asked for on a shot sheet that he requires. You don t even notice he is there, but he takes such beautiful photos that capture the whole day perfectly. I am thrilled with how the photos came out. He checked in with us shortly after the wedding and we received our photos a few days ago (our wedding was August 25). Lots of people don t get their wedding photos for many months or up to a year, so I was extremely excited to get them so quickly! They came out PERFECTLY!

This review is late in coming. Today we celebrated our 8th year wedding anniversary. We have no pictures of our wedding!!
The engagement shoot was horrible, reading through all the other reviews I completely agree that he didn't know how to make us pose, the quality was poor and then we had to pay extra for copies of the pictures which wasn't stated clearly beforehand.
On our wedding day, the photographer showed up barely on time. It was not Darryl as we had expected and had been told, but someone else who worked for him.
The pictures did come out decent, but we never received a photo album which we had paid for or any copies of the actual pictures. We got a DVD of the pictures that ended up being lost in a move.
Overall if I could go back, I would have saved us the money and the hassle and hired anyone but Hawk photography.

I met Daryl at a bridal expo and was instantly drawn to his desire to photograph my Monday wedding. Our budget was considered through out the entire process. Daryl was accommodating when I re arranged starting hours to avoid paying more at the last minute.

We are very happy with their work. We were married in December, and were referred to Hawk Photography, and are very happy that we did so. Everything turned out great, and went perfect, with no problems.....even with the huge snow storm we had that day. It was December 14th, and after a years planning of course we ended up having a blizzard. Some of our guests could not make it, but Shawn, or photographer was there early, and in good spirits. She was all over the place helping out with some of the small last minute details. She made every feel at ease, and blended right in , yet was commanding when needed to get the shots that were time sensitive. Everything went according to plan and on time. I don't know how considering the weather, but it went perfect. We received our pictures with in 3 weeks, and are going through them now to decide which ones to get framed, there are a lot of good ones. They also worked with us to stay with in our budget. We thank them, and definitely recommend Shawn and Hawk Photography.

When planning my wedding day everyone told me to make sure to secure a quality, professional, photographer, that cared about the outcome of our wedding pictures. We received all this and more with Hawk Photography. Corey, our photographer helped make our day Fabulous!! He was on time and patient with all our antics.

He took amazing photos that captured the essence of our love and the fun of the day. My husband and I used hawk photography for our engagement sitting back in Feb 2017. The quality was amazing. In April , 2 months before our wedding we lost our wedding planner as well as the photographer we hired under her almost a year before our wedding. With two months prior to our day, we asked Daryl if he had availability being so close to our wedding and it being wedding season. He had availability and worked a great deal for us. On our wedding day 6.17.17, our photographer from this company was Derek. I must say he was absolutely amazing, prompt, professional, and funny. He directed us for every photo and mingled well with all the guests. It was a blessing for them to service us and making our day even that more special. I would recommend them to others for all occasions. We thank u. Looking forward to seeing our pictures.

I booked based on reviews, the photos on the website, & what was included in the package w/ the price I could afford. 1 of the things we got with the package was engagement photos. We took these at Daryl s home & felt rushed with the session which only lasted about 30mins, & about a week later we were told we had to pay for the cd of photos. I was a little upset that this was never explained to us. We paid for the cd & got the photos back & I was very unhappy with them. Daryl worked out an agreement & sent one of his photographers to redo our session at a location of our choice. The 2nd session was EXACTLY what we were looking for & I was more than satisfied with the outcome of the photos. From that point on we dealt mainly with our photographer (peter) who was easy to get a hold of & always answering any of my questions I had. I sent a packet of information to him, photos I would like (typical family portraits, people at the wedding, my husband and i, etc) & examples of some fun photos that i wanted to try. The day of my wedding I felt as though I was directing more of the photography than the he was, I never once saw him take out this packet that I sent to look to make sure we were getting it all. This stressed me out a little the day of. Our wedding was at 430 and photos were from 5-6. Every time I stopped to reapply lipstick or check to make sure my hair wasn t out of place, we got told to hurry bc of lighting. Our photographer left after the cake cutting. When we got our photos back I would say I was averagely satisfied with them. I was not as happy as I was with our engagement session. Most of the photos after the main family portraits were candid photos of people in line at the buffet, or ordering drinks at the bar. I don t have photos of half the people that came to the wedding -- & maybe this is my fault bc I only paid for a block of time. Overall I wouldn t say that I was unhappy with the photos. I just would not recommend this company for future weddings

Daryl was an absolute nightmare.
Days before our wedding, he tried to pull out and send someone else in his behalf, even though when we signed up with him he promised that he would be the one present.
He was miserable during our wedding. Didn t want to take pictures and gave zero direction. He spent more time eating then with us.

Thank you so much to Daryl Hawk and our photographer for the wedding. We had such an amazing time and to have it captured in such a fun and non - intrusive way was way more then we could have asked for. Our photographer was so talented that we didn't have to worry about missing something and he was very willing to take our suggestions for special shots. He was so friendly and easy to work with; I felt like an old family friend was working with us. In fact, many of our guests thought we knew him previously, especially the way he worked with our flower girl and ring bearer who are 4 and 2 years old! We can't thank you enough for capturing this amazing day for us to always look back on.

It was a joy to work with Daryl and Hawk Photography! He is a professional. We had several phone calls and emails leading up to our event for over a month to solidify plans for the wedding day. We discussed the different photo combinations of people, where the photo locations would be, and handling finances was a breeze. Daryl is extremely friendly and makes you feel as comfortable as possible to lessen any awkwardness you might feel about having your photo taken for 2+hrs. He really wants to you to get what you want. We are so thankful to Daryl and happy to have him be part of our wedding memory.

Daryl from Hawk Photography is an absolute nightmare. Do yourselves the favor and book elsewhere!!! His photography is mediocre at best.

1)Majority, of our wedding photos were out of focus, blurry & a huge disappointment. Including the photos at the alter.

2) He does not work well with others. Upon review of our video footage from another vendor, Daryl can be seen continuously walking in the frame blocking the videographer from doing his job well. Even when asked to move, he would refuse out of spite.

3)Not only that, Daryl was also primarily focused on one specific guest, of whom he took 80+ photos of. She was more of his focus that is the bride, the groom and our respective families that travelled very far for our wedding.

4)He s a con artist. He will offer you free enlargements in exchange for all his 5 star reviews. These are not genuine reviews.

5) He left our wedding prior to the night ending. What professional does that?

Overall, Daryl came underprepared with equipment. He lacked creativity when photographing my wedding dress, accessories and invitation suite. His reflection can also be seen in many of the pre wedding photos with my bridesmaids.

Brides, invest in your photography you will not regret it. But you will certainly regret working with Hawk Photography, especially Daryl Hawk.
