Such a fun night out, try something different and ditch the movies for the stage. Intimate venue and not a bad seat in the house. Prices are very reasonable and they sometimes have package deals. Parking in the attached garage is $6.50 if purchased in advance which beats the $10.00 LAZ Lot nearby. Front row seats are literally about 10' from the stage. Our seats are 8 rows back in the pic here, and that is the last row of the section, so still very close to the stage.
A wonderful experience. Great sets and performances. Not a bad seat in the house. Friendly, helpful staff. Only suggest you check the Civic Center schedule and come early if they have a show. Traffic and parking were horrific.
It was amazing! I personally didn't buy any drinks, but from what I saw, they have sodas, and alcoholic beverages. Plus, the play I saw, which was A Christmas Carol, was really good! Hope you enjoy Hartford stage as much as I did!
I was very impressed there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The crowd at intermission was moved along very smoothly. Enjoyed.
Wonderful stage with accommodating staff and comfortable surroundings. If you can, take the opportunity to see some hits here before they go to Broadway!
Amazing shows!!! And every seat is the best seat in the house! The actors are amazing and so are the sets and effects. I STRONGLY recommend seeing a show here, you will not be disappointed!
Food was great. The pasta is some of the best if you like al dente style. Atmosphere is good and the location at the corner of Pratt street makes it a great place to be around!
Great. Good show. But they need to do better in the parking lot, the computer is slow. But show is great
just amazing, went to see like street and it was beyond amazing, they always manage to amazing me with the clean environment
Always a great venue to see a play with an intimate feel.
Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is a must see!
Wonderful place to see theater and follow it up with a great dinner in city. Many good ones..just do best to find parking..always an issue in cities. Carry change purse or call to find out how meters are paid nowadays. There's also entrepreneurs charging various prices who own a lot. Hartford Stage has own parking structure and reduced parking fee if seeing a play. However $6.50 is by no means a bargain. But $10 is regular fee so I was glad to save!
Beautiful theater that hosts fine plays. Worth the time and money.
We saw Murder on the Orient Express. Excellent performance. Helpful staff.
Most productions are excellent in this well known theater.
My husband and I had attended a play 'Feeding The Dragon's that was written and performed by Sharon Washington on 2/4/18. The Hartford Stage Theater is a personable place. The staff (employees) were nice, helpful. A theater with good sound systems and lighting. Also, the stage is centered, but angled. Basically any seat is viewable. The garage next to the theater charges based on a variation of 1 to 2 hrs or more. It took us a while to find parking. No complaints because the performance was really good!
Love the Theatre. I have never been disappointed in a play at this venue. I love the sets and lighting especially.
Got a chance to see the play Detroit 67 at Hartford Stage. Enjoyed the show with wife, our son and daughter in law. This was our gift to the lovely couple for their 9 wedding anniversary.
We just visited The Stage to see the Murder on the Orient Express, it was outstanding!
Good for plays and free to Hartford residents if have library card. Get tickets at local library.
Saw the Christmas Carol there with my 2 daughter's. It was an amazing experience. The actors were fantastic! Looking forward to going back again.
Venue is just perfect size, highly recommend the play to other's and plan to see more plays!
From the quality of the performances to the quality of the theater itself- everything is top notch.
My wife and I enjoy ourselves each time we come here to watch a play.
No matter where you sit there is a great view of the stage. Acoustics are good also
Well done loved the performance of A Christmas Carol
Great service, very comfortable, not a bad seat in the house!
There's not a bad seat in the place and we loved the performance of The Christmas Carol!
Excellent company and a very enjoyable Henry the Fifth.
Great location and helpful staff. If you are here for a show, be sure to get the parking voucher available for purchase at the will-call counter. You pay $6.50 to park at the MAT garage on performance days, instead of the usual $10 (I think). You are welcome! :)
Me and my family saw a Christmas Carol tonight and we had a wonderful experience
This place is beautiful.Only been to see Feeding the Dragons, but staff is friendly and the play was great!! 5 stars bravo!!
I have to say, for a theater in a midsize market, they always do a really nice job with all of their productions. We have seen various shows over the past decade, and we've always been very pleased with the quality of the production. The theater layout is such that there's not a bad seat in the house, whether you're in the front row, or near the back, and we know -we've sat pretty much everywhere over the years for various shows. I wouldn't consider ourselves hardcore theater enthusiasts, but you will have a good experience if you decide to see a show here. There is parking in the garage attached to the building, and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance, including one directly across the street, that you can go to to make a half day out of this.
A very nice time tonight at the Hartford Stage seeing "Murder on the Orient Express." We parked in the adjacent garage for about 6.50 and it was well worth it. Everyone at the Hartford Stage was helpful and polite. It was a great show!
Not a bad seat in the house. Professional staff. Very good place to see a play. We love it here.
Located somewhat central of Hartford, this is a great playhouse to visit. There are several restaurants within walking distance and a moderately-priced parking garage on premises. I've seen several plays here and have found that you can't get a "bad seat". Definitely worth a visit (or several!).
Today(8/11/18)- was actually my first time at the Hartford stage and everything was Awesome, all the actors did an amazing job playing The Adams Family. The sounding, lighting and the production was great!! Me and my children really enjoyed ourselves and we loved it. Would recommend this place to anyone. If you haven't been there yet, just go because you won't regret it. Thumbs up
The auditorium was beautiful and the play is great. The actors are amazing.
Very cool place I saw a play here recently that was very well done. The building is very historical and have been using many props and stage tools for a very long time, or so I've heard. They served very fancy mixed drinks during the intermission but the lines were very long. It is also unfortunate we paid alot for seats and ended up having them very far in the back. However the play was so good it made up for all this.
See great shows in an intimate setting before they get to Broadway
World class in a pretty and convenient venue. Take advantage of this place if you are anywhere nearby or even not nearby.
GREAT story of deepth life, good acting of relatioships, and setting amazing.Such intensive 80 minute play.
i havent been there, am going soon, i bet itll be great!
Outstanding performance ...The Flamingo Kid musical play
I always love going to the Hartford Stage. People are friendly, and it's so easy to park and go right in the building. My niece Danced in the Hip Hop Shakespeare play and if was phenomenal. My niece was phenomenal!! She is a great kid. However HS always has great productions. I've been going there since I was in middle school back in the early 90's. As time goes on, it continues to get better.
This is a small theater. I saw Henry V and there was little costumes but the acting was great. It was seeing pure art it it's natural form. A great experience
We are privileged to have such a fine theatre company in Hartford.
Excellent plays! The theater allows for easy access, and regardless of the section you are sitting at, you have a great view of the stage. The concession stands on both floors has an assortment of sweets, teas, coffee, and fine wines. A delightful way to spend an enriching evening in the capital city.
Professional theater A+!!!! Great entertainment and great new works of plays and musicals. I went to go see Murder on the Orient Express and it was amazing!! The theater also had great customer service. Great seats too!
Easy parking great theatre with great searing lighting and sound and a wonderful performance of Make Believe. Look forward to seeing another show soon
Saw Flamingo Kid last night. My kids and I don't care for musicals; but I'm glad we saw it. Amazing talented acting and singing skills, great props, My family and I had a great time.
If you can find decent parking, you will actually get your money's worth: Broadway-level talent displayed here.
Every seat is a great one and The Christmas Carol is one of my favorite holiday must see classics.
Always love going to the Hartford Stage cant wait to see the next show
Been a subscriber for years for a reason, always professional and plenty powder rooms!
Always a great experience, not a bad seat in the house
Beautiful place ..happy for my Dougther marisol figueroa to meet the mayor
This is lovely theatre, where every seat is a great seat. Parking is conveniently located in the attached garage. Love this theatre, and the plays and programs here
Great little local theater that puts on some impressive acts, often with some well known actors.
Some of the best theater in the country happens here. A treasure.
Went to see Murder on the Orient Express and loved it .
Detroit 67 is a well acted hard to take play about the effects of the inequalities and subsequent riots in the city on a bother and sister. Must go. Glad to see an audience that is about half Black.
