Harbour Inn Marina and Spa Review

The Harborside Grill had good food with a great view and atmosphere.

We had a lovely experience at St. Michael's Harbour Inn during our stay this year (late July/August 2019). It was quiet, staff were friendly, and we had a nice view of the harbor from our suite's balcony.
Our room had a comfortable King beds (pillow top though, not firm) and nice amenities - refrigerator, coffee maker (not a Keurig), television in both rooms (fairly basic service), ironing board, hangars, hair dryer, and the usual bathroom type amenities. The parking lot is small and the spaces are too close together - at times it is a challenge to park. Sometimes another car parked so close we couldn't get into one of the doors - and we were driving a smaller vehicle. This is really the main downside. Apparently dogs are allowed, which I didn't object to, but a noisy barking pooch is something you could hear from time to time. We only ate a breakfast meal there, and that was fine. We had to wait a long time because a large order came in before us, but the waitress comped us a Bloody Mary. So clearly staff have intentions to provide good service. Meals are now handled by Harrison's and so you can expect some good, old fashioned Eastern Shore cooking if you want that.

I stayed here with my fiance and we had the best time! The service was outstanding with beautiful views of the harbour. It was very close to everything, we walked everywhere and there is a water taxi that can take you to dinner. John who drives the shuttle was super friendly too!

Great place to stay I would recommend a microwave in the kitchenette it was a wet bar at best.

Had a fabulous, romantic stay here. Short bike ride (courtesy of the Inn) to everything. Walking distance to great restaurants. Nice breakfast included. Cocktails and crudite by the pool. Look out onto the harbor from your suite. Eager to return.

This is a fantastic Inn to stay at. The rooms are full Suites and are very spacious and elegant. Each has a balcony that can be accessed either from the bedroom or the living area.
Breakfast comes with if you stay in the room and has a decent variety of omelettes and such. There is both indoor seating as well as outdoor seating, all of which have a view of the Harbor.
there is a shuttle service that will take you to the restaurants or shops around town.
they also have a full marina for anyone that would want to come and stay on their boat

We spent two nights at the inn last weekend and loved it. The suite was large and beautiful. Everything was clean and the staff very accommodating. We had a gift certificate to stay at another location in St Michaels that is a very expensive hotel. That hotel was booked and no available rooms. We had stayed at that very expensive hotel before but I am glad they were booked because the rooms at the Harbour Inn are much larger and the view from the balcony overlooking the marina was perfect. Good job Harbour Inn. I'll be back!

I like this place and have no trouble returning. Our room overlooking the parking lot is very nice. Looks just built or remodeled. That said the lighting is too stark when on. Every switch outside of bath lighting needs a dimmer. There is no tub in the bath - no problem but the water pressure is so strong it's impossible to shower without flooding the floor! Coffee! We rarely sleep past 6a and couldn't get coffee outside of our room coffee pot for which the supplies were not adequate and which makes poor coffee anyway. We passed through the lobby to drive to find some coffee to find the clerk asleep. Come on man. Hospitality ain't that hard.

We booked a last minute getaway over the phone and were delighted with every aspect of our stay. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze, staff were friendly and sincerely interested in ensuring that all your needs were handled. The room was gorgeous, spacious and provided a floor to ceiling view of the wonderful activity in the marina. We even had a jacuzzi tub in our room and all of the extras to pamper us. Pool was lovely and the breakfasts were great. So glad we chose St. Michaels Harbour Inn for our second trip to St. Michaels!

Very good staff and area. The rooms are very unique and somewhat luxurious. More importantly, the room and bathroom was and always clean. I highly recommend this hotel as one of your options if you are visiting St.Michaels.

We come by boat and stay in the Harbour Inn marina. We love this spot. Always good service and food, and we always make use of the complimentary van service. A+ in my book.

We were looking for some quiet time at New Years' Eve and we got it!

The rooms are super nice and cozy and we got a balcony view. I did an early reservation and they were super nice over the phone.

Nice room. Beautiful views. Only complaint was the breakfast. They put out stale bagels and the same food both days. I had read such great things about it that I was really disappointed. I would still go back though. Room with jacuzzi was very nice.

Sure you have a reservation.....No you don't. We went in person to the harbormaster on Labor day Saturday 2016 and reserved a slip for Memorial Day weekend. No worries, he said. We confirmed via phone in February and got a hurried- "yeah, yeah, you are good."

Call back 3 weeks before our reservation date, and surprise! No reservation.

Now we have no reservation for Memorial Day weekend. Thanks for screwing us over for a very high volume weekend. Not sure what we will find as a back up.

It is a clean resort, good service, nice location and view of the harbor

Things that St Michaels Inn does well here, they are very welcoming, very courteous staff at the desk! The staff is Pet friendly with our 2 Golden Retrievers! Our room had a lovely view of the Chesapeake Bay and the Boats, it was clean and comfortable! The restaurant on premise served very well presented food, with a professional staff! The grounds were manicured and clean! The only reason I am giving it a 3 Star is the price of our two day stay, it was nearly $900. Way too much money for the time we spent at the Inn.

Spent 3 wonderful days at the Harbour Inn. Amazing view, relaxing pool/bar area. Outdoor dining and friendly service. The Inn could use some cosmetic updating. Small hole in the wall in the bathroom. Needs some updating. Short staffed for breakfast, one waitress for the breakfast shift. Otherwise perfect.

On the water, very welcoming staff, convenient to shopping/restaurants.

Very nice. Rooms are dated but clean. We had a delicious lunch here. Tonight we are gonna do dinner in the pool deck.

Great rooms with wonderful view of the bay. The restaurant is very good also. Try the little bar downstairs by the marina.

Terrific service and experience - already considering coming back in the warmer months to enjoy it even more. We had several other couples with us and each had different rooms all with a different layout - lots of cool options to try.

We have decided to no longer respond to the endless train of surveys we are being sent. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Great location and right on the Harbour and beautiful views. Rooms are large and we had one with a porch and great view. Within walking distance to the town of St. Michaels and bikes are available to use for rides.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Harbour Inn. We will be back again, but next time we will bring our dog. The accommodation were extremely clean, staff is friendly and the Inn is within walking distance of Talbot Street and great restaurants. We recommend Theo's, it was absolutely delicious.

The location is great and close to most restaurants and attractions. Room was not the cleanest, sofa had many stains and dirt, shower curtain had mildew on the bottom and room could use a good dusting overall it was a nice place but a little expensive.

Awesome stay on the off season room was clean you can't beat the view from your room or free breakfast. Walking distance from everything. Great romantic weekend.

The view was fantastic, however the room and bathroom were very small and needed a good cleaning to remove dust in vents and mildew smell throughout. Old worn carpet throughout and better upkeep of surrounding areas would improve the cleanliness of the hotel. The service of all staff was the absolute best... for that I give it 4 stars.

The hotel was nice and had the amenities we appreciated. There was a problem at check in and they tried to substitute a different type of room but finally ended up putting us in the type of room we reserved.

The facility and level of professionalism pre-massage was awesome. But, when it came to the actual massage it seemed very rushed and unattentive. Not sure if will be back. We have been to plenty of places prior and Harbour Inn let us down.

Best kept secret in St. Michaels. Food it decadent and cooked to perfection and the restaurant staff are so friendly. Love this place

We absolutely LOVED everything about our stay - the staff - the ambience - the room - the location - the food!

While away this past weekend I decided to relax with a massage at the spa. My masseuse chewed gum and blew bubbles the entire time she was working on me. She also pulled my arm over my head in strange way and 24 hours later the pain is still very intense. I've had many massages but this was the first bad one.

Had a lovely stay in a lovely room. Highly recommend the Harbour Inn!

Went for my 50th Birthday. It was Great. Thought I had reserved a room with a balcony & Jacuzzi, room didn't have balcony.Went down to front desk and asked about this and within a short time they gave me an upgrade at no charge. Very nice room. Very pleasant front desk. Thankful they where able to accommodate me. Hope to return again sometime.

Nice location, room, shower... Looking forward to the next time

We always have a lovely time at the Inn however this time we had 2 negatives. First the cleaning product in the room was obnoxious. It should be unscented. Second, we only went to the breakfast once because it was so bad. The omelet had so much stuff in it you couldn t taste the egg. Omelets should have the filling on the inside, not mixed in. The Coffee was tepid, they
didn t refill empty food plates and the service was terrible.

Nice place. We were here early in the season so our experience might not represent typical stays.

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into the hotel as it was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean and we felt safe.
The only complaint I would have and it might not be the hotel anyway,would be the restaurant ,the Harbor Inn that is inside the hotel. Our server/bartender was very nice. We decided to have dinner at the hotel. We were the only people eating. It was hard to believe that the plates that they served our $28 each steak on were foam plates!!! And our salads also came out in small foam bowls!
I questioned the server and she said there had been a fire and the dishwashers burned? My point is we were The only two people In the restaurant eating ! I feel like she or someone else in the kitchen should have put that food on a regular plate and washed them by hand. They had to wash the silverware anyway!
So be that as it may that it was very very strange to eat a prime rib on a plastic plate, the food was good and the service was excellent.

Nice port on Maryland's eastern shore. Great dining and Maryland seafood.

I was so disappointed by the incredibly rude reservation staff that I cancelled my reservation. I made a reservation online on the hotel website and received a confirmation email. I then received a call from a staffer stating my room was NOT available and they had upgraded me inadvertently, but they were NOT allowed to do that, so they only had small rooms left (at basically the same price as the small water view suite that I reserved). I was told the manager sent me an email, then in the next breath I was told there was no manager on duty to speak with. I explained that I travel frequently and if your room is not available they usually upgrade your room if they can not find a comparable room since it is their mistake. I explained that I had stayed at the Inn at Perry Cabin where the rooms cost significantly more, and I would rather pay more for quality service. She said - "then stay there" and she hung up on me... I called back and asked to speak with the manager but was repeatedly put on hold then told no one was available.

This is our third year of summer vacation at Harbour Inn. We stayed in a Captain's Suite. The bed was especially comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only thing missing was access to Orioles baseball, but I suppose you should be watching the scenery instead??!!

A heavenly weekend getaway every time. Both the staff and Peter are always a class act.

Great view front desk people are great housekeeping is on it Nicole makes sure her team does a top notch job in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Maintenance people keep up with all the appearance in and out looks great. Restaurant in the hotel is great fun locals like there to.

The view from our room was beautiful which we did appreciate from the jacuzzi. Most of the staff was nice and helpful. The layout of the room was very nice. The place is simply beautiful. The two stars are due to the fact the bathroom was disgusting. The cleaning staff failed the hotel. There were pee, poo marks and pubic hairs all over the toilet. The bathtub area had mold on the walls, and the shower head (but the water pressure was nice). When I asked if the bathroom could be serviced again the answer we got was that the cleaning people only clean in between guests arrivals. The guy in the front counter offered his help to go and check but pretty much was talking himself out of the job because it was not his duty, as he said mmm I guess I will have to clean it for you . Therefore we got not no help but to go out of our way, buy alcohol and cleaning wipes and clean it because we were already there. Again, the hotel layout and room, as well as the dinning staff are great but the bathroom experience was really unpleasant. You would think that because of COVID, for the price you pay, and the 3 stars the hotel has, the cleaning service would be a prime priority but it is not.

We were here for our honeymoon and even though we were both sick we loved being able to rest and relax! St. Micheals is a very small but friendly town! Our first night there we went to Carpenters saloon and had pizza that was amazing!

This trip to St Michaels was for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. For $446.00 a night, we are very disappointed. Upon arriving to check in we experienced a very unfriendly employee whom was on the phone at the time. We were never acknowledged and basically just asked what he could do for us. Our room is basic at best. There is chipping paint, a hole in the wall and dirt. We upgraded our room to a water view with a balcony when we booked prior. The water view is the best thing about this hotel. I have stayed in hotels for quite less money that were exceptional in quality and customer service. The customer service here is non existence. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel is not affiliated with the hotel I was told. They do not provide room service. I could go on and on. You can see by the photos and judge for yourself.

Quick walk to downtown. Great views and the staff is very nice, definitely recommend staying here

My wife and I really enjoyed our room and the view it afforded across the bay. Staff were super helpful with a special request, especially in the kitchen. It is also within walking distance of a few restaurants and crab shacks. We would definitely recommend it!

Coffee machine in lobby has coffees in all types hot ,cold,strong or decaf. The restaurant has many choices and my steak was cooked just right. My wife tried the rockfish and said it was good. Easily within walking distance to the winery and most of the small town.

Located right on the harbour, St. Michaels was a real treat for a weekend getaway for my wife and I. We stayed in a Captain's suite featuring a king size bed, electric fireplace, harbour view balcony, large jaccuzzi bath with water jets, and a view of the water from our bed through the large sliding glass doors. The inlcuded breakfast exceeded our expectations. Don't miss breakfast! Over all an awesome time for my wife and I. We plan to visit again soon!

Absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful place wonderful people

Although we wish we could have stayed here and left a 5 star review, we unfortunately arrived only to find out they didn t have our reservation. We were disappointed but the staff here went above and beyond to correct the situation. Hannah was particularly wonderful as she directly cared for us. From an offer to get a drink or food from the bar while we waited, to getting a fully paid for stay at another resort and a complimentary bottle of champagne, they made every effort to offer their sincere apologies to us. We will hopefully have an opportunity to return and stay here.

As usual, staff and facilities were great. Very disappointed that the resort fee no longer includes a breakfast buffet. Please consider changing that decision.

My wife and I jumped in the car and traveled down to this beautiful coastal location for four days! The small shops were nice, the service was excellent we actually asked for an upgrade and receive it with no problem. We took a short drive around and walked and listened to music at the festival downtown near main street. Cool getaway.

We visited for our anniversary and stayed in the Captains Quarters on the 2nd floor. The room was great with an electric fireplace, whirlpool tub in an enclosed area of the room, separate bedroom which was nice as the people in the next room stayed up very late and were very loud. Lucky for us we had a pocket door and a bedroom door we could close to block out the noise so we could sleep. The walls and ceilings/ floors are thin here but that would not deter us from visiting again. The views were wonderful, nice looking pool, I'm hoping the restaurant is working out breakfast kinks as the food was terrible. We left with our plates still full. They offer a free shuttle service and free bicycle use on a first come basis although it's such a short walk to everything. We will return!

Not a bad room though the heater noise kept us from a restful night. When I went to concierge she told me the maintenance said that s the way they sound and they couldn t do anything about it.
Also a very condescending older man bartender dropping the f bomb within ear shot, my wife and I couldn t believe our ears. Food was great but poor bar tending skills.

It's a beautiful getaway place for my husband and I. We visit this place every year just to experience the calm and away from city life. This hotel is beautiful, very cozy and very clean. We had booked the room with jacuzzi. Staff was very nice and helping. The only thing why I would give it a 4-star is because of the bed mattress which was pretty old and both of us got a stiff neck and a body ache the next morning. I wish they could change the mattress. I would still highly recommend this hotel because of its location and its beauty!
